  2. The poll is now complete and IREM Arcade 1 is the winner by a very thin margin! Thank you to all who voted. I'll get the monthly series posted very soon!
  3. I know it isn't video game related, but this one sure takes me back. Michael Landon as a spokesman for Kodak cameras. The dude had outstanding hair.
  4. Other ideas for you or any other youtubers here....I'd love to see more "how to" videos for difficult games. Not a complete walk through, but "how-to" do those parts that aren't easy. For example, landing the plane in NES Top Gun, or getting a turbo-bump start in SNES F-Zero.
  5. I've never really watched livestreams although I have tried a few times. It's just really hard for me to carve out that time. But I think you should keep doing whatever you enjoy.
  6. Wow, that's great. Congratulations!
  7. Here is an update (and a lot of great info) from the Evercade official Facebook page:
  8. Raise your hand if you think Admiral Kirk is an a-hole for bringing Bones out of a clearly awesome retirement (against his will no less). (RickR raises both hands).
  9. LAST DAY TO VOTE! Tell your friends. The only way this becomes a regular and successful feature is to have a lot of folks participating. Please and thank you.
  10. Sorry, Guntech demo. Have you tried that one yet? It sure does take a long time to load. I like the fire effects on your exhaust on that one. But essentially the same controls.
  11. I tried the demo last night (as well as the Gunship demo which seems very similar). I found it super hard to control. Maybe there is a different control scheme to try? Pushing the stick in the direction you want to travel just isn't working in my brain, as a ship with momentum should use the "Asteroids" style controls. But I'll keep trying. It looks beautiful.
  12. Yes..but which one is actually active once you load a given game is the issue. Games like Atari 50 have different controls based on which controller you use.
  13. MaximumRD's status made me think about these. These were very common back in the 70/80's, but now pretty rare to see. Seems like every basement/rumpus room back then had one of these and a ping-pong table!
  14. I use mine in wired mode mostly. Why? Because I tend to switch pretty often between classic and modern controllers and just flipping the wire is a lot faster than the bluetooth switch.
  15. If we can't play as a dog with a gun, I'm going to be very disappointed.
  16. Fascinating! On first thought, this is the kind of game that would have given us all disappointment back in the 80's (I asked for Space Invaders and got Fun With Math!) But on second thought, I can't think of anyone else coming up with something like this lately. I may actually give this one a try. Lord knows my brain could use more sharpening.
  17. So many new games! It's exciting, but also kind of overwhelming.
  18. My sincere condolences on the passing of your wife. May you and yours find peace.
  19. Well, just looked it up, and "The Video Game Critic" web site rated Puppeteer as a B+ and called it "THE showcase for the PS3". That's pretty high praise. https://videogamecritic.com/ps3np.htm#rev4389
  20. Although not a new pickup, I'm happy to see someone else using a tablet with a small physical keyboard. I've been using this combo here for a long time, and this is what I take with me on the road or vacations. Samsung 8" Android tablet and a belkin bluetooth keyboard (geared more towards Apple, but works fine for me). Yours is much nicer! I may have to look into one of those.
  21. @socrates63 gifted me a copy of Puppeteer a long while ago, and I really enjoyed it. Being new to PS3, I didn't want to rank it too high, as it could just have been enjoyment of the new system itself. But no, it is a fun game for me. No real time limits, and puzzles/platforms that aren't too difficult to figure out. I need to go back to it and finish it properly.
  22. I've not explored it fully yet, but the "Uncharted" series has been outstanding. There are three of them, and I think there's a pack that includes all three. Also "The Last of Us". These are the ones my children say I should play.
  23. Yes. It is done at the game level from my observation. So you may find it very hit and miss. Some games will still work, others will not (multi-player-wise).
