  1. I got mine from a local source. But they are plentiful on ebay. Expect to pay between $10-$20 each, shipped. Or look at your local thrift shops.
  2. The final scoreboard: @AtariSphinx 3829 @RickR 2097 @Atari Creep 2092 @greenween 727 @Justin 473 @TrekMD 221 Great turnout and great scores all around.
  3. Another silly one from me. I've purchased three of these external USB DVD drives. Since I've converted all desktops in the house to these mini PC's, I needed some way to watch movies or load data from DVD. It also seems that none of my laptops have a DVD drive either! Anyway, these things work fine and it's kind of nice to just put them away when not in use. They are cheap and easy to find used. Interestingly, they are actually bigger than the PC itself!
  4. Great scores all, and congrats to @AtariSphinx. The time got away from me on this one. I really wanted to get a patch score! I may keep trying. Much thanks to @Atari Creep for pushing me along to try more and compete.
  5. LGR does such a great job with things like this. A very enjoyable watch. If I recall, the superdisk came and went quickly. Killed by competing products and a short window of opportunity as other technologies (CD-R and cheaper memory) came about soon after.
  6. Do you have any left in your area? Please list them here! In Oregon, we have two that I know of. Here's a nice write up for Video Horizons, which is in the coastal town of Astoria. Not surprisingly, their most popular video is "The Goonies" which was filmed there. https://www.oregonlive.com/living/2024/06/astoria-is-home-to-one-of-the-last-remaining-video-rental-stores.html?utm_campaign=theoregonian_sf&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook And of course, Bend, OR (in the middle of the state) has the very last "Blockbuster" store. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockbuster_(Bend,_Oregon)
  7. "Vectrex Fans Unite" group on Facebook if anyone needs more help. Looks really cool and I think it comes with a pin this time. I'm thinking seriously about this one.
  8. So awesome. Let us know if you need any beta testers 🙂
  9. No worries...I watched the No Swear Gamer review too, so that's two people I trust who gave it the thumbs up. I like that kind of game. Reminds me a bit of the old PC point/click adventure games.
  10. I ended up buying Full Void and Atari Arcade 1 and am happy with them. Shipping for me was $5.65 on the west coast...not bad! Thanks again for pointing out this sale.
  11. Thanks! Full Void was on my list too, but I didn't see it there until you mentioned it.
  12. And is there any game there you would consider "must have"? I was considering the PC "Indie Heroes" ones.
  13. This is great, thank you! I just got the Super Pocket and could use a few new games. Do you know if shipping is reasonable?
  14. Free games on Epic right now:

  15. I bought a used Super Pocket Evercade (Taito version) from ebay with a nice case.
  16. I got the Sony from Sears, which may indicate how old it is. 🙂 It has been old reliable. Paired with a Bose 5.1 speaker set. It sounds good for our needs.
  17. One time, I returned a Vizio TV because the remote had only 4 buttons. They expected us to use a phone app for a fully functional remote. Nope. Returned it and got a Samsung and learned to always look at the remote before buying.
  18. That is really good to know. My setup is similar, only I'm using a Sony receiver. If I ever upgrade, I will try to stick to the Sony brand for this reason.
  19. YES! We had the same type of store (actually two) in Portland. Meier and Frank (purchased and ruined by Macy's) and Lipman (turned into Frederick & Nelson and eventually went out of business). Meier & Frank had a flagship store downtown that had the 9th floor Santa Land every year with an awesome tram for the kids that hung from the ceiling. Myself as a kid and my own kids were there every Christmas for photos with Santa and a trip on the tram. Pretty sad that Macy's shut all that down. That flagship store is now a hotel with a MUJI clothing store on the first floor. MUJI is pretty cool I guess. Lipman had a holiday character named "Cinnamon Bear" that terrified me as a kid. He had big giant lips. But many old-time Portlanders remember that thing fondly.
  20. The one thing about Jafco that just came to my mind was how things were purchased there. It was kind of like Toys R Us....the store was a big showroom and if you wanted to buy an item, you'd take a tag. Once you paid, you went and stood by a metal conveyer belt. And soon enough, your item would come rolling out! Pretty f-ing exciting for a kid like me.
  21. I'm not familiar with it, but it sounds pretty great.
  22. Sweet setup. I'll bet it sounds and looks great.
  23. Oh man. Yeah. CompUSA! Circuit City! I got my Dreamcast at Circuit City. And one of my kids...I think it was the Nintendo DS...I "pre-ordered" it at Circuit City and they mistakenly let me pick it up a week early, so Jr. had it before anyone else did!
