  1. I hope nobody minds me posting a quick follow up on my new ride. 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid. I'm four months and about 3500 miles in. I'm getting 41 mpg, which is exactly in line with the sticker estimate. I LOVE the safety features in the car, and it really does help me stay out of trouble. Things like blind-spot-monitoring, lane assist, auto braking, etc. They work shockingly well. Adaptive cruise control is a MUST HAVE. Once you have it, you wonder how you survived without. And it will drive for you in stop/go traffic too. This car is a hoot to drive. It is just as quick as an electric car off the line (albeit noisier). Perfect size for an older couple that loves to take trips. We get in/out easily, and there is plenty of cargo room for stuff. Go for the highest trim if you can (XSE). It has the eco-leather seats, heated seats, and a really nice sunroof, the wireless connection to your phone, and some understated LED interior lighting. Made in a new factory in Alabama. Toyota makes several hybrid SUV's. This one gets the best gas mileage and also is the lowest price. But on the converse side -- it's also the smallest. AWD worked really well in the snowy winter we had here. Absolutely no issues with standard all-season tires.
  2. I love this. Looks like a great trip. Good food, lots of walking, lots of good eating! And YES, there *is* life after kids. Enjoy it as long as you can. These kinds of trips and memories are worth more than anything else.

  4. Same. What is the other name? I may already have it...
  5. Movie/TV cars at the Petersen Auto Museum in Los Angeles. I went last year and the museum is AWESOME.
  6. I love it. Great review.
  7. I've got one right here in my desk. It has a photo of my grandma in it.
  8. An update to share on this. I listed this locally, and sold it to a guy THAT HAD 3 TAPES AND THE GUN ONLY! Perfection! Every time a set gets reunited like this, a nerd angel gets their heavenly pocket protector.
  9. Great scores all around! I really liked the competition on this one. I think we all pushed each other a bit. Super fun game.
  10. THANK YOU to all that participated in this first "Lets all play" event. I had a lot of fun with the Irem games and I hope you did too. I'm going to have to shelve this series temporarily due to personal issues that need my time and focus. But if anyone else would like to choose a next game and start the ball rolling, I'm willing to help with the initial post and such. We will eventually get back to this. In the meantime, don't forget to share any of your retro adventures on the Evercade in our club.
  11. Ron Howard is 70 today!  What is your favorite Ron Howard role?  Opie, Steve from American Grafitti, Richie Cunningham, or any multitude of other parts?

It's hard not to say Opie, that's such an iconic role. Happy Days is nearly as iconic, as is American Graffiti. I've really enjoyed Ron Howard as a film maker. My "favorite" role honestly has to be as the narrator on Arrested Development as the show would not be what it was without it.

Oooh, Arrested Development narrator is a great one that I didn't think of!  Nice.

My favorite Ron Howard role is probably Richard Cunningham from "Happy Days." Opie Taylor is a close second. I have never seen all of "American Graffiti," so I have no opinion about that one.

  12. Nice scores! I wanted to spend more time with this one. But alas, the month got away from me. Fun game, I hope we do this one again. Thanks!
  13. I found my answer on Facebook. The super pocket does NOT have wifi and will not do updates of all games. However, it's newer firmware does contain updates for some existing games and WILL update those. And once you update a cart, those updated features are available on the orig Evercade.
  14. I worked for a radio station many years ago. Iron Butterfly was a go-to if you need a bio break.
  15. Yeah, I've printed all three...as long as you remember to do "flip on short edge", they turn out great.
