The press packages really bother me. I mean, I get it. At the same time, watching Retro Dodo say "I imagine this is what the original must have felt like..." several times makes me feel like they sent it to the wrong folks. 😉 I would much rather see something from John Hancock, CGR (Mark is back!) or even Metal Jesus. At least those folks wouldn't have to imagine what the original felt like. I guess those of us who ordered will find out soon enough!

The special packaging looks really neat, however I think that a product is better served when the retail package is featured in "unboxing" videos and press reviews. It's what the rest of us will be getting, after all. 😉

Berzerk:Recharged is turning out to be the most divisive Recharged title yet. Folks appear to split on it being twin-stick, the robot voices and the art design. There have also been complaints about the Classic's rotary being counterclockwise, but that's been fixed with an update. If you've played the game, what do you think?!

Interesting issue with the new Taito Super Pocket.

A tip from the Atari Discord: If you're getting the zip code issue, try backing out and then trying it again. If you do it enough times it might come back up with your CC# saved (which means you won't get the error). I haven't had to try it myself.

i'm going to guess the developer's scope didn't include the VCS. Interestingly, Tony Barnes has said that the VCS is more powerful than the Switch and that BPM wouldn't run on it as is - it will have to be 30 FPS instead of 60. I may try RCT in PC-Mode via Steam. I've been messing around a bit with it and I'm surprised what runs.

Funny that there is a VCS cafe when they couldn't bother with a port. Just sayin'!

One day left until Berserk drops. First review in from John Hancock. It's mixed based on the aesthetic direction of the game.

I haven't thought about this one in a while. I'll have to try it again soon. I do recall it being a lot of good, quirky fun when you get the hang of it!

I wanted to share a response video that @Davpa posted on AA, which provides further context on the delisting.

Playing Yar's Revenge (2011) on Steam via the Atari VCS in PC-Mode using a bootable thumb drive with Windows 11. This game was only released on PC and XBOX 360. The stock 8GB VCS handled it easily after some legacy driver updates, even while recording. I completely missed this game when it was released as I was/am a Playstation user. Its a complete re-imagining of the Yars' Revenge lore and has very little in common with the 2600 game other than the re-use of familiar terms: Q'otile, Zorlon Cannon, etc. They also put the apostrophe in the wrong place for this outing, which I just can't get used to. Still, it's a colorful on-rails shooter that gives me strong Panzer Dragoon vibes. Worth a look if your curious.
