  1. Interesting issue with the new Taito Super Pocket.
  2. A tip from the Atari Discord: If you're getting the zip code issue, try backing out and then trying it again. If you do it enough times it might come back up with your CC# saved (which means you won't get the error). I haven't had to try it myself.
  3. i'm going to guess the developer's scope didn't include the VCS. Interestingly, Tony Barnes has said that the VCS is more powerful than the Switch and that BPM wouldn't run on it as is - it will have to be 30 FPS instead of 60. I may try RCT in PC-Mode via Steam. I've been messing around a bit with it and I'm surprised what runs.
  4. Funny that there is a VCS cafe when they couldn't bother with a port. Just sayin'!
  5. We're now seeing some reports that the zipcode glitch is back after a short reprieve. Are you impacted?
  6. Gameplay only of Berzerk:Recharged, wherein I temporarily take the top spot on the leaderboard. 😉
  7. Hey BCB, I commented on the video, but also check out the topic here for some additional context, including a video posted by Davpa. Glad that they resolved it and Alien Abduction is back in the store.
  8. I spent my lunch playing some Berzerk: Recharged. You gotta love telecommuting! I see some familiar names in the top 10: @Funkmaster V, @Silver Back, @D.joe
  9. Very cool @TrekMD! What platform did you play on?
  10. Tell me that you don't see it too!

  11. One day left until Berserk drops. First review in from John Hancock. It's mixed based on the aesthetic direction of the game.
  12. I had election day off so I spent some time in PC-MODE via Steam.  System Shock remake, Poosh XL, Space Giraffe, Lunar Lander Beyond, Void Prison, Polybius, Moose Life.

My 8GB stock VCS choked on LLB, System Shock, Polybius and Moose Life; Poosh XL, Void Prison and Space Giraffe worked fine.   My 16GB VCS ran LLB, Polybius and Moose Life fine. System Shock ran decently in the low settings.

I have 32GB that I haven't installed yet in my Onyx. May do that to see if System Shock can run in higher settings with the added memory.

I also wonder if Windows performance on the stock 8GB VCS would work better from the M2 instead of a USB stick.

I've never bothered with reFind because I spend 95% of my time in AtariOS.

  13. I haven't thought about this one in a while. I'll have to try it again soon. I do recall it being a lot of good, quirky fun when you get the hang of it!
  14. I wanted to share a response video that @Davpa posted on AA, which provides further context on the delisting.
  15. One of the best things about the first week of November is that the annual edition of General Mills' Monster Cereal is 75% off. #iykyk

Our grocery store had them for $0.75!  I didn't get any, as I'm trying to avoid sugar.   But now I regret it

That's an even better deal than mine! ($1.50)

They don't expire until May, so I'm good for breakfast for 7 months. LOL

  16. Playing Yar's Revenge (2011) on Steam via the Atari VCS in PC-Mode using a bootable thumb drive with Windows 11. This game was only released on PC and XBOX 360. The stock 8GB VCS handled it easily after some legacy driver updates, even while recording. I completely missed this game when it was released as I was/am a Playstation user. Its a complete re-imagining of the Yars' Revenge lore and has very little in common with the 2600 game other than the re-use of familiar terms: Q'otile, Zorlon Cannon, etc. They also put the apostrophe in the wrong place for this outing, which I just can't get used to. Still, it's a colorful on-rails shooter that gives me strong Panzer Dragoon vibes. Worth a look if your curious.

How does the game play overall?  I'm still wary of playing those "early" Atari remakes compared to the current stuff...

@MistaMaddog -  It's a decent on-rails shooter for what it is but has very little connection to the original. I like the art style and the static scenes used to deepen the lore.  In terms of gameplay, it owes a lot to Panzer Dragoon and also put me in mind of Elemental Gearbolt for some reason.  It's definitely a fun pick-up & play experience and worth a look.  Just don't expect it to feel like HSW's Yars'.  For that, the Recharged series version is a better choice.

  18. PSA: Alien Abduction has been removed from the Atari VCS store and is no longer available for purchase. The six month exclusivity deal for distribution expired and the developer, John Van Ryzin, requested that the game be removed from the store. Atari is in contact with the dev to bring it back. Here are some facts: 1) If you purchased the game and it's currently downloaded to your VCS, you will have no trouble launching the game. (Personally confirmed by yours truly) 2) If you purchased the game and deleted it from your VCS, you will need to contact Atari Customer Support and they can push the game to your system. 3) Folks that did not purchase the game are not able to do so at this time. The VCS storefront is not sophisticated enough to hide a de-listed game from those who did not purchase the game while allowing those who did purchase to retain easy access for re-download. That's not ideal, but you are still able to get the game back through Customer Support. This is the second VCS title that this has happened to. The first was Tailgunner, whose devs closed operations and did not have a mechanism to split ongoing royalties and so requested that the game be removed. That game is also unavailable for purchase or re-download without connecting with Customer Support. This is sure to be a bummer to some folks who for whatever reason did not move to purchase the game over the last six months. Hopefully Atari are able to bring it back for non-exclusive distribution. However, there is another excellent H.E.R.O. homage in the store by way of A.R.T.I. that is available for purchase today, if you have to scratch that particular itch.
