  1. A digital pick-up: The new Haunted House for the modern AtariVCS. It's going to take all of my game time this month!
  2. Filling some gaps in my CIB collection with the addition of a few commons from @Video 61! Thanks, Lance!
  3. PSA: This released yesterday and is 20 % off in the first week. So, $15.99 vs. $19.99. I played for a couple of hours late yesterday and it is SO FUN! There is a fair bit of challenge despite the cartoon-like look. Anyone else playing?
  4. This is the perfect game for the spooky season! I love the hand drawn, cartoon-like vibe. The sneaking, stealth-like gameplay is interesting too. Just great!
  5. It's a real bummer that the spin on the Classic doesn't work for steering. It was the first thing I tried booting up the game. Personally, I had a heck of a time with the controls in general. Track building is fun and the concept is ok, but I'd rather play Power Drive Rally on my Jag.
  6. I want to take a second to thank everyone again for your kind words and encouragement. This was made with the community in mind and I'm thrilled that folks seem to be enjoying it. I also want to note something that might have been missed above in the first comment, and that's this: If you have an idea for an article or want to contribute to future issues, message me here or send an email to clubvcs@protonmail.com. This is our fanzine. We were lucky to have great contributors/collaborators like @Mockduck, @RickR and @Podan for Issue 01. If you enjoy writing, have a great idea for an article or have a flare for design, consider this an invite. 😉
  7. ICYMI check out this fantastic overview of the ClubVCS fanzine from our friend @Ballistik

Thank you! I just let the material speak for itself ;)

  8. Thanks so much @Ballistik! We really appreciate the shout out and your fantastic overview of the magazine. Just wow!
  9. In a recent interview, Atari CEO Wade Rosen confirmed that the XP line is separate from the carts released in conjunction with the 2600+. He described the former as "in house" and confirmed that the $29 carts are being manufactured and distributed by Plaion. Hopefully Plaion's QA standards are higher than Atari's US-based manufacturing partner for the XP line. This also explains why the XP line is US only, where the $29 carts are available globally.
  10. An in depth and candid interview with Atari CEO, Wade Rosen. This is a very long one. I think it provides some genuine insight into how he's running Atari and his motivations. Well worth a watch/listen.

  12. Welcome to the official topic for Ultra Mission
  13. Thanks to everyone who has taken time to check out the zine! I really appreciate the positive feedback from everyone. The flipbook has over 500 views and only half of those are me. LOL This is an excellent suggestion @MistaMaddog , and I'd love to include a PC mode article in future issues. @Tony Waldron - this is a great note to have on the use of "IP." I'll be more mindful to define abbreviations. 😅
  14. I heard the same thing in a recent interview with Jarvis on the Ted Dabney Experience and it immediately came to mind with this announcement.
  15. Thanks so much for kind words! It was a lot of fun to put the zine together. Glad to see folks are enjoying it!
  16. I had to share the Voodoo Ranger 1985 Hazy IPA. I bought it for the ridiculous can, but it's a tasty light IPA with a hint of mango. Not too high on ABV either. (6.7%) https://www.newbelgium.com/beer/voodoo-ranger-1985/
  17. Welcome to the Club VCS: The Atari VCS Fanzine Issue 01! The Club VCS Fanzine is an extension of the Club VCS subforum here at Atari I/O. The goal of the fanzine is to highlight some of the cool things going on in the world of the VCS and our little corner of the Atari fan community. In this zine, you'll find interviews, community member spotlights, reviews, previews, and more! So hit the flipbook link to view online or download the PDF here. A special thanks to @Justin for his encouragement, and @RickR and @Mockduck for their contributions. If you have an idea for an article or want to contribute to future issues, message me here or send an email to clubvcs@protonmail.com. Best, Sabertooth
  18. I went ahead and grabbed it. I also broke down and grabbed Outlaw, but only after they refunded me 50% for my bent box copy of Gravitar. In for a penny... 😉
  19. Available now in EARLY ACCESS! ONLY ON THE ATARI VCS!

  22. Release Date: 11/9/23 Retail: $9.99 Developer(s): Sneakybox Publisher: Atari Official Site Synopsis : In this reimagining of the 1980 arcade classic, Berzerk: Recharged challenges you to fight your way through a deadly maze filled with waves of menacing, vocal robots. Deft twin-stick control and power-ups are the only way to survive, as you shoot your way through room after room in this never-ending dystopian maze. And don’t forget, Evil Otto may have a smile on his face, but he is deadly and invincible. As with all Recharged games, you can chase a high score in arcade mode, or take on one of the many challenges the design team has hand-crafted to test your shooting and dodging skills. If things get too hard, you can always grab a friend to double your firepower in local- co-op. Megan McDuffee’s original soundtrack of sci-fi synths captures the ambiance of a harrowing space station shootout – and a very cool 80s arcade.
  23. They made the price of the upgrade (2022) $6.99 instead of $9.99. This accounted for the $2.99 price of the 2020 version. The 2022 version brought Missile Command in line with the rest of the series. Really, the 2020 version was conceived as mobile free-to-play and stands apart from every other title in the series. It laid some groundwork in terms of style, but Centipede: Recharged is truly the first game in the series.b
  24. https://atari.com/products/save-mary-limited-edition It looks like Save Mary is next up for an XP release.
