Jetboard Joust is our Recharged Squad Challenge at ClubVCS! This game pays homage to Defender but with rogue-like elements. I highly recommend checking it out on the VCS or any other platform on which its available!

Playing Yars' Revenge (2011) on Steam via the Atari VCS in PC-Mode using a bootable thumb drive with Windows 11. This game was only released on PC and XBOX 360. The stock 8GB VCS handled it easily after some legacy driver updates, even while recording.
-
How does the game play overall? I'm still wary of playing those "early" Atari remakes compared to the current stuff...

@MistaMaddog - It's a decent on-rails shooter for what it is but has very little connection to the original. I like the art style and the static scenes used to deepen the lore. In terms of gameplay, it owes a lot to Panzer Dragoon and also put me in mind of Elemental Gearbolt for some reason. It's definitely a fun pick-up & play experience and worth a look. Just don't expect it to feel like HSW's Yars'. For that, the Recharged series version is a better choice.

We had to get out before the rain, so we headed to the local botanical garden. I like the otherworldly cactus section.

A newly released study by the Video Game History Foundation show that only 13 percent of classic games from 4 decades are available commercially due to a variety of issues. It's a fascinating read.

A quick short of my current Jaguar collection. It includes all released retail titles, post-Atari releases from Songbird and Telegames, several demos and homebrews including "grails" like Battlesphere Gold and Another World.
Enter the madness of a Jaguar collector...
-
A total of 5 homebrews hit the VCS store today! Two 7800 games from Muddyvision and three 2600 games!
- A.R.T.I. (7800)
- E.X.O. (7800)
- Game Panic III (2600)
- Strike Zone Bowling (2600)
- ZPH: The Game (2600)

A version of Rampage that doesn't get a lot of mentions is Activision's 1989 port on the 7800.
It's surprisingly good and has everything you would want from a Rampage game. That said, George, Lizzie and Ralph do look a bit like the Muppet Babies.😅🤣😂🦎🙈🐺
-
I think Rampage for the A7800 plays even better than the NES version. At least, it's truer-looking to the arcade with no added intermissions. The NES version has a chart of how much damage is done to the United States, while the arcade version doesn't have that. That is why i think the A7800 looks closer in that respect, plus the sprites do like the Muppet Babies. But that doesn't detract much from the game, at least to me.
Atari were great at making the levels in arcade copies close proximities to the arcade counterparts in most games. That is why I like Atari games so much. Thanks for letting me share. :O)

There is a hack KevinMos3 is making to make A7800 Rampage more arcade-accurate. I am sure you have heard about that. :O)

A year or so ago I came up with the idea of a gaming battle jacket. (If you grew up in punk and metal, you know what this is.) I was struggling with a theme until Atari's new Recharged series.
Here are the first pieces coming together! Recharged buttons and a Missile Command Recharged back patch!
Now to sew on this ginormous patch!

I've got a project lined up to create some kind of wall-mounted frame for my Activision patches. But I probably need to spend some time at a crafts store to find the right kind of frame. If I do, having another one with all the atari.io pins in would also be really cool!

So you guys know, I plan on doing more runs of new Atari I/O pins in the future. I still have prints for the originals. The only reason we stopped was because I moved away from having access to a button press and inexpensive mailing through my old company. The idea was do to a different set every season and send them out to our most active members as a "thank you" for being at Atari I/O
