They have Punch Out, but without Tyson, the way it's been ever since Iron Mike got in trouble with the law. Even if he didn't, the most likely wouldn't pay him to license his name again.

Also, don't expect real players or teams in Tecmo Bowl.

It has a decent game selection, wonder why its only 30?

If they had an SD card on it, it would be pretty remarkable!

There's LOTS of cheap NES clones out there, but they aren't marketed well.  If they market these like the Flashbacks (in Dollar Store, Sam's Club, etc) they'll do really well I think.

Found this for a whopping $1.  Missing the battery cover.  It works!

Is there an NSG or ArcadeUSA review of this one?  It's not a good plug and play unit.  First of all, it's obviously emulation...graphics and sounds are off.  Secondly, that button is really uncomfortable to use.  Your thumb hits the raised edge around the button...almost painful.

Here's my take on them "as ports" :

Space Invaders - good port but not a fan of it
    Missile Command - missing bases / no trak-ball - not a fan
Asteroids - missing vector graphics / gameplay too easy - see Space Rocks
Defender -  really good port except for the use of smart bombs/hyperspace
    Stargate / Defender 2 - see Defender
    Ms. Pac Man - excellent
Official Frogger (Supercharger) - simply awesome (wish I had this back in the day instead of the PB version)
Battlezone - good port but missing the vector graphics again
    Jungle Hunt - excellent
Joust - badddd   ranks up there with Pac-Man
Berzerk - very good but missing Evil Otto
Kangaroo - ok but not a fan
Jr. Pac-Man - i'm not a fan of the scrolling maze - i like to see where the monsters (ghosts) are
Centipede - very good (would have made excellent, if they had made it trak-ball compatible) - see Centipede TB
Millipede - same as Centipede - see Millipede TB
Donkey Kong - baddddd  - see D.K. VCS
    Burgertime - very good
    Congo Bongo - good
Dig Dug - ok - wish they would have done a better job with the graphics
    Moon Patrol - very good
    Pole Position - excellent
    Q*Bert - very good
    Wizard of Wor - excellent
    Zaxxon - good
    Pac-Man - not even going there! - (see dintar's Pac-Man 8k)

I actually liked Robot Tank better than Battlezone, and a real arcade conversion of Battlezone needs the vector graphics, imo.

And a bit more from me....I just want to state that no matter what I say about Pac Man on 2600, I hope to goodness no one feels offended in any way.  For example, AtariBrian loves the game, and I totally respect that.  It's a fun topic to talk about, but it's just a game.  Like all pieces of art, opinions may vary and it's totally acceptable.

I never really gave 2600 Pac-Man a fair shot until about a year ago. I picked it up for 25 cents and actually played it one night on the suggestion of The Professor. It's not very faithful to the arcade game, and graphically it's not very impressive, but if you give it a chance it's a lot of fun to play. I ended up playing for an hour a night for about a week while I listened to podcasts.

I watched the video last night.  I love pac-man on the 2600, I even love the sounds.  Maybe it's mostly nostalgia.  I also love E.T. not based on nostalgia, as a kid it was horrible to us, but that's because we didn't read the manual.  Can't wait to see the pac clone video it will be a long one I would imagine.

Went antiquing yesterday and got this: Star Trek: Generations by MicroProse for the PC.

It's never been opened, original plastic still intact. I'm debating whether or not the game is good enough to open and play, or keep sealed in the box.

I must say, I love the box art. Kirk and Picard, together, on one box? Count me in!

Love my system!  Got a cool Multicart for it as well and a Homebrew game (Death Race).

I like the KC games, Smithereens, Turtles, UFO and Cosmic Conflct (was the first game I ever played on a odyssey 2 at a service merchandise)

Its well worth having in a collection!

This was my first system, but I haven't played one since the 80's.
My favorite game was Pick Axe Pete, but again it's been years.
I also remember liking KC and maybe UFO as well.

I agree that it's worth owning.

But to be honest, there are a LOT of really bad games for the O2.  The library is dominated by really bad versions of games you are familiar with on other systems.  O2 "Alien Invaders - Plus" (a copy of Space Invaders) is laughably bad, for example.  And like Retrogamer mentioned, most games only give you one life, which is really frustrating and weird.  "Demon Attack" is pretty pared down, showing that even Imagic couldn't get much out of the limited hardware.

That being said, there are some real gems on the system too.  KC Munchkin is absolutely the best game for the system, and it puts Atari Pac-Man to absolute shame.  And as Rowsdower mentioned, the board games are really interesting and have the coolest packaging.  UFO, Freedom Fighters are other really good games.

Now if you can get your hands on "The Voice" module, the system is a MUST own IMO.  "Attack of the Timelord", "Smithereens", "Killer Bees", "KC's Krazy Chase", and even "Type and Tell" are a blast.  The greatest voice module on any classic system.

Given all this, I still think it's a fun system to own.  It looks great, is pretty cheap, and games are easy to find and priced low.  And if you DO decide to buy, there is a multi-cart available that is a great bargain.  http://www.packratvg.com/o2multi.html

Not much I can add to what Retrogamer said.  K.C. Munchkin is great, and if I'm not mistaken you could make custom mazes for it.

Also, check out the hybrid video game/board (Master Strategy Series) games they had, if nothing else just for the AMAZING packaging.  (Some of the most gorgeous in the biz)  Quest for the Rings, Conquest of the World, and Wall Street Fortune Hunt all came with really cool board game packaging.

I had even less third party support than the Intellivision, but I think they did make Demon Attack for it.
