I had a feeling this game would get picked.  It wouldn't have anything to do with the virus going around would it? 😷
  2. Thanks

    Congratulations RadioPoultry!

Congratulations @RadioPoultry! You knocked it out of the park! Pac-Man Day challenges are always some of my favorite, and Ms. Pac-Man on Atari 7800 is hands down one of my favorite games for any system. It was great to get back in the swing of things and have so many participants join us in High Score Squad. We even had a few of the wives turn out! Having family and friends jump in and play along with us is something we should do more of in the future. @RadioPoultry takes the cake with an impressive 75,610 points! The Don @RickR posted a really impressive 72,120 to claim 2nd, and @greenween was right behind him with 71,350 to take 3rd. @kamakazi20012 @TrekMD @Justin @Gianna @btbfilms76 @Atari Creep Ms. BTB and Ms. Creep all joined in this one! Congrats to RadioPoultry for making it to the top, and to everyone who jumped in this squad challenge and shared a score! I'd like to encourage RadioPoultry to post his new high score on the Scoreboard, and let's make sure this Challenge continues on!
NOTE: Our next High Score Squad Challenge will be a *cough cough* Corona challenge. Be there!

I certainly did appreciate the distraction.  It's a super fun game, made even better when played amongst friends.  Thanks, everyone.

After COVID-19 I honestly believe that life as we knew it beforehand will no longer exist.  I have a strong feeling that once it is all said and done our world will not be the same ever again.

Only on the 7800 is Ms. Pac-Man at her best.  The Queen of Video Games shines the most on this console.  All other home ports of Ms. Pac-Man simply do not compare.  And by home ports I mean ports that were made from scratch, not an arcade ROM emulated on a console.  The 7800 very faithfully brought Ms. Pac-Man into the home the way it should be.  This is one game that Atari Corp, under Jack, got right but I have a feeling it might have been done by Atari, Inc beforehand.  It's too perfect.  This is one 7800 game I could sit and play for days on end without a care in the world.

I've been studying how my videos are doing on YouTube.  All of my videos, except for 3, barely make 50 views.  Those videos include the game play videos on older consoles, modern consoles, and computer games including the trucking simulator games.  What surprises me are the two videos with the most watches.  Both are on the Wii.  Monster Truck Mayhem on my channel has the most views at 4.2k, second is the Family Fun Football at 999 views, and my 3rd one is me playing Star Raiders on my 5200 on Pilot Mission.  It's over 1,000 views.
I'm trying to understand my viewers so I can create videos that interests them.  My channel, however, is also for doing videos for high scores.  It's my proof-positive for scores I make.

    A new series has started!
We have been playing this game for a while now and just decided to continue where we left off instead of just starting from scratch.  Too much work goes into this game and most items are so rare that they may never be acquired again.  Enjoy the video!  It's lengthy and unedited so there are spots where we took a break and I didn't edit those out.

Both of you have hit a nail on the head.  There is a lot of bullying and negativity that goes on in the video game world that is really uncalled for and completely unnecessary.  That magazine I was a part of had members that would get harassed bad but nothing was ever done about it.  Those people left.  I have not heard from them since.
That's why I like it here...no bullying or anything of the sort.  We are all good sports and win or lose enjoy a great played game. As much that goes on in this world you would think none of that would carry over to video games, online or not, but it is there...unfortunately.  I, personally, would love to see an end to it.

Yea I'm not a fan of that brown maze either.  Reminds me of shag green carpet.  There's nothing to like about it.  It has way too many trapping areas.

Holy crap @RickR!  For being on the injured list you really nailed it with that score.  I seen that maze RickR took a picture of for the first time on the 7800 when I posted my score.  I've not been able to get off the third maze at all if I even make it that far.
Look hard enough at the maze in Rick's picture and you can see a smiling face.

NIce!  I like it's cousin...the Starfighter.  Both look really nice.
I think my challenge ends here.  I've tried and tried and I can't even come close to the score I made.  The most I've been able to reach is the 40,000 point range.
The 7800 is a great console.  Don't let any one or anything else tell you any different.  If only Atari had poured more into its game resourcing and development when it counted.  The 7800 had what took the NES a few more years to obtain.  Both systems could be expanded through the cartridge slots but the 7800 had what could expand it already available...the NES didn't start getting stuff to expand its abilities until a couple of years after it had launched.  The 7800 could have been the NES killer.  It would have been a no brainer to support console full force.  The 7800 is still alive and well and will be as long as there those that own one and continue to use it.

Bummer...I liked his shows.  Then again it has been going on for a really long time and all things have to end eventually.  Looks like the never ending mission to review everything has ended.  😞

I remember one of the CGR videos mentioning something about transitioning over to Amazon Prime.  It was a result of YouTube/Google making changes in the qualifications for a YouTube channel to receive revenue from ads placed on their channel.  It affected some channels that rely on that revenue to produce quality content.  I'll have to see if I can find that video.
I have a channel, too, and try to upload content regularly but it is often difficult for me.  It's easier for me to find about half an hour to play a game than it is for me to find the hours it takes to make a YouTube video.  But I don't get anything from my channel as it doesn't meet the qualifications.  I do it to showcase my passion for video games.

I went to Disney World once in 1982.  It was our next stop after visiting the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, TN.  I don't remember much of the trip these days other than the Sunsphere in TN and the really large donut I got the morning we went to Disney World.  That donut was as large as my 8 year old head!  I'd love to visit Disney World again.  When I was there Epcot was just being built.  A lot has changed since.  I also remember Quack Attack very well...and DTV!

Best game of Ms. Pac-Man I've ever played on the 7800...and I used a standard controller!

    See?  Real hardware stuff.

He he...all the Atari kids came into the out since we humans have been under lockdown 🙂 I reached the fourth maze again but this time did not notice the same lag.  The game was a single game started from power up...there were no games played beforehand.  I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

Thank you kind Sir.  I've never done that high of a score before.
That's no joke.  You ought to see what i seen when I made that score.  All the power pellets did was cause the ghosts to change directions.  That was it.  No blue or blinking.  That's what got me.  I thought I would have at least a few flashes to eat one ghost.  Nope.

🤬Uh?!?  In the words of Q*Bert..."!#@$%"  How can you NOT like this game!  It's by far the best port of the queen of video games long before emulation came along.  And that's saying a LOT coming from me because I thought the 5200 version was great.  100% perfect?  No but it's pretty damn close.  How dare them.  Have they not seen the NES port of Ms. Pac-Man???  That game looks terrible.
Maybe if they tried it with a different controller?  I can understand not liking 7800 games because of the standard controller.  That thing would kill the joy out of everything it was used on.  My least favorite controller to use except with this game.  It works well with this game.  It's when I have to use those fire buttons is when I have issues.  It throws the controller off balance when you have to use those buttons.
