    Are compilations allowed?
I play a lot on my 3DS (Atari Greatest Hits DS).
I assume so since they are being emulated, but wasn't sure.

Hi Arena! We're just playing regular classic Centipede for this challenge. Everybody has it, it's on all of the Flashback systems, something everyone can play. We will have lots of ways for you to play hacks and homebrews in other events

^GREAT suggestion Professor! This is exactly why the Scoreboard exists!

Arenafoot, your scores are something special. I would encourage you to start a new Scoreboard thread for Centipede TB and Millipede TB and post your scores! Someone else may come along and try to top them. Scoreboard offers casual competitive gaming in an open format without deadlines or even the need for another player. Think of it as a friendly and relaxed Twin Galaxies. It's a great format for setting high scores on hacks, homebrews, and arcade games. You could have an amazing score and somebody else could spend all year trying to top it.

Hacked versions of games could also be played in Danisen League so long as both players agree on terms beforehand. High scores achieved in Squad, Danisen League, or Atari Cup can always be added to the Scoreboard if you think your high score merits recognition.

Objective: Play for the highest possible score using the difficulty settings defined in the challenge. Post a photo or video of your score in this thread. Scores must be achieved between December 1st to December 15th, 2015. Screen captures are not allowed as they are easily manipulated for falsified scores. Multiple submissions are permitted. The player with the highest score at the end of the 2-week competition is the victor.

Eligibility: Anyone can join in. All players are welcome!

Play Rules: Games may be played on real Atari hardware, dedicated (Flashback) console, or emulation, using any joystick or keyboard, following rules and game settings as delineated in the Squad Challenge. We are playing the original Centipede for 2600, hacked versions of this game are not allowed.

Fair Play: Players should play fairly, be honest, and have fun! Falsified scores will result in your immediate banning from the site. It goes without saying that no use of cheats, hacks, cartridge frying, enhancements, Photoshop, or any other unfair advantage is allowed. Everybody hates a cheater.

Welcome to our Inaugural Squad Challenge! Those of you that are participating in this challenge will be among the very first to partake in our Atari I/O High Score events! We're glad you're here, and excited for the year ahead! For our Inaugural Squad Challenge we chose a game that was universally loved and easily accessible on Atari 2600 systems, Flashback and dedicated consoles, and emulation. Sometimes we may pick common games, other times we may get more adventurous in our selection. I hope all of you have a good time, and remember this is for "nerd cred" and meant to be fun for all! You have until December 15th to complete this challenge. GOOD LUCK, SQUAD!

Justin - would the trak-ball versions of Centipede & Millipede qualify? I have screenshots of my scores from the Houston ArcadeExpo from both of these titles. Of course, I'd post the Centipede scores only here.
    just wondering......

Not this time Arena. Here's why: We are playing the original ROM of Centipede. Hacked versions are not allowed as it would be an unfair advantage to others playing I hacked Centipede. We may have a Squad Challenge for hacked versions at another time.

Also, scores need to be achieved between December 1st - December 15th, 2015 to qualify for this challenge.

It sounds like you have some pretty good scores documented though! Why not open up a thread for Centipede TB on the Scoreboard and post your scores? Justin has two up already if you need an example. http://forums.atari.io/index.php/forum/70-scoreboard/

Well, you might have to sign up but DLH is giving away a few games.

They do have pop-ups but once you sign in, look in the top-right corner next to your sign-in name and you should see a link that says "Profile/Keys".  Click on that, scroll down, and you should see games with buttons that say something like "Get Your Key".  If it says it is out don't give up...keep refreshing and try again.  Something about their site does that and you have to literally keep hammering away until it gives in.  The keys will require Steam for activation.  Enjoy!!
