Yeah, a trackball at that angle would be sheer physical torture for me.  I try to use my thumbs as little as possible.

Fair enough, I totally get that. Again being the odd one, as it turns out, though you and I suspect most would use their thumb on the trackball I am left-handed, as well I have fairly large hands so my thumb is never used sitting to the right of the buttons, my index finger clicks the buttons and scrolls the wheel while my middle and next finger manipulate the trackball.

When looink up the M650 mouse that @RickR suggested, I came across this... 61ni3t1ryQL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

... it looks like a great place to lay the thumb and the heel of the mouse is rubberized as well.  The wheel looks further away from the heel on the M650 & M705 as well which looks like it would be easier on my index finger.

    That's a cool looking mouse.

  2. I say this knowing full well that I'm likely the odd duck here. So what else is new 🤣🤷 I am simply answering what I personally use but I am not suggesting or necessarily recommending it. It's great for the right person obviously me, but I love my Logitech m570 trackball. People either love or hate trackballs that's not for me to decide however, I have found it's the type of thing people either love or hate and originally I would have thought no way but after getting used to it, it is my peripheral of choice for desktop use and great to illiminate carpal tunnel syndrome also interestingly enough you'll see in the image here an old iPhone 6 😃it is used for nothing else except I use a little app called "remote mouse" which by connecting through the Wi-Fi of my router recognizes my desktop (the USB is connected only to supply power since the battery drains fast) and thus allows this old otherwise pretty much useless iPhone to be used as an amazing touchpad! just as you would have on any laptop, this is also quite useful to me as I am very adept at using touchpads since I do a lot on laptops.

I got a new desktop about a month ago.  It's a tiny Intel NUC.  Takes up a lot less space and it's super quiet.  Here are the userbenchmark results:

    UserBenchmarks: Game 86%, Desk 104%, Work 93%
    CPU: Intel Core i7-12700H - 97.2%
    GPU: Intel Arc A730M Graphics - 82.7%
    SSD: Kingston SFYRS500G 500GB - 293.7%
    SSD: WD Blue SN570 NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB - 204.8%
    RAM: Kingston KF3200C20S4/8G 2x8GB - 101.5%
    MBD: Intel NUC12SNKi73

I'm running Windows 11, and have had zero issues.  I've been very happy with this upgrade.  I did lose the super fast video card, but the built-in Intel 730 setup seems to work fine for all the games I play.  Much less power consumed and noise produced as well.

Those INTEL NUCS are wicked little mighty machines. For all daily tasks as well as emulation and light gaming you are good to go!

  4. Just seen this really cool video and had to share. 😲🤩

I'm Atari Kiosk ready!... well just need the kiosk now. I was able to get this excellent condition LaserDisc that was used in the Atari kiosks at retail stores by Atari dealers back in 1982. This interactive LaserDisc demonstated how the Atari 400/800 computers were a must have for you and your family. Included in this video, I've created a high quality video capture in its entirety.

  5. I saw this literally minutes ago and had to laugh it was so obvious. While it may not exactly be an Intellivision I think it is pretty clear someone in the prop department must be an Intellivision fan 😆It goes by quick but it was obvious enough I went thought "Hold up a sec, is that?......" so I paused and took a screen grab. ODDLY it's supposed to be a movie playing device which makes the controllers very questionable 🤔 🤨🤷‍♂️

Now to be clear, it's a new movie trailer for a movie on Peacock and after watching the trailer it was enough for me personally to say "Er, I think I'll pass" BUT I thought it might not be noticed by many and if anything this might be the best thing about it so I thought I would share it. Now, you can watch the trailer and see for yourself (about 1 min in) I have also attached a screen grab for convenience. Maybe this could have been Intellivision in the future or perhaps an alternate reality version, I think what I would really like to see is a modder with much greater skills than I turn a normal basic Intellivision into a copy of this one (perhaps using one that is already blemished or defective as to not alter a good one) but anyway I just found it amusing.

Trailer (pause about 1 min in)

    The money shot:

Feel free of course to add your own Intellivision consoles or variations or obvious tributes to the console as seen in Movies or TV shows. I personally cannot recall any others off the top of my head, has an INTV II ever appeared in any? Would love to see that. Of course the the classic Atari 2600 has been spotted in TONS of films and TV shows, heck even the Colecovision is seen in the movie Firestarter with Drew Barrymore but I don't think the good old Intellivision got much representation? Maybe I am wrong, let's see what you got!
