  1. I use cable only for Internet. Ever since August 2023, I watch ONLY over-the-air television (and maybe my DVDs at times). Sure it's spotty, and I don't get all of my channels all of the time. But, it's definitely cheaper than cable or satellite TV. I am probably saving over $1,000.00 a year by not getting cable TV. Free is free, meaning no money needs to be spent on the signal. I like free. So, there you have it. Thanks for letting me share.
  2. My top five Atari 7800 games are these: Food Fight Midnight Mutants Alien Brigade Kung-Fu Master Rampage These games have a real WOW factor to them, at least for me.
  3. There were other development systems, like Felix and I believe one called Rapier. But, whether or not they were before Alpine I do not know.
  4. My family had an all-in-one stereo at one time, with a record player, radio and 8-track player. We eventually got rid of it. The record player was needing repairs, but everything else worked on it. I would listen to Chicago on the 8-track tape player. Glorious sound.
  5. I still use VCRs from time-to-time. I also have amassed a huge collection of VHS tapes. It's a blast from the past, so to speak. Fun to watch.
  6. I liked the Third Era. Midnight Mutants is a great game, and so is Scrapyard Dog. Bigger games meant greater challenges. Those were definitely big games.
  7. It shouldn't hurt the cart itself anyway. I don't see how it could. So, this makes perfect sense.
  8. Twenty-six years since "Titanic" was released? That sounds right.
  9. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody! It has been a good day.
  10. I have seen pics of this type of Power Pad before. The 1040STE computer had ports for the Power Pad. I had a 1040STE at one time, and remember the ports on the computer for this type of controller. Question: is the Power Pad exactly the same in configuration as the Jag pad, or not? They look the same in design, minus the color differences, but do they interchange with the Jag and STE and/or Falcon exactly?
  11. At least, I think you buy weapons in Recharged. I have never played the VCS version before.
  12. Indeed, it is! I like the enhancements for the Missile Command rehash on the Lynx. Missile Command: Recharged reminds me of it in some ways. Especially when you have to buy weapons.
  13. This very same artwork was used for "Super Asteroids/Super Missile Command" for the Lynx. I noticed that. It looks really good, by the way.
  14. It does look like it needs some minor corrections and refurbishment, but it's actually in quite good condition. I am impressed.
  15. Interesting. All Activision games. I love Kung-Fu Master. It's a great arcade translation for the A2600 and A7800. I only have the A2600 version, though. Still, it's a cool game.
  16. Isn't the Atari VCS an x86-64 architecture? I know it has an AMD chip in it. Just curious.
  17. Hey, guys, I was curious. I was wondering about the price for an ARM-based Linux desktop. But, I don't know who makes them. Would anybody here know of a way to find and procure one? It's wishful thinking for the future. Thanks.
  18. I am also missing Tank Command and Water Ski for the A7800, by the way.
  19. I have over 400 games for my systems. 316 are for the A2600 alone. I have almost every A7800 retail release except for Kung Fu Master. I have over 40 games for the Atari Lynx. I have about 20 for the Jaguar, retail and homebrew, CD and cartridge. I also have lots of game for the XEGS. I have at least 50 games for the XE. Probably more, but I never took a full inventory yet on that system. That's it for now. Thanks.
