  1. Agreed. It should be mandated. If they make the chips in China, the Chinese keep the money and the secret to making the chips. If they are made in the United States, however, we keep the money, the plans to making the chips, and the chips localized, as well as keeping jobs here in the US. It is a win-win-win-win situation for us.
  2. Hey, guys, It is official. Apple will be using their own SoC chips in newer Macs, starting around 2021. Intel will be used once more in Macs this year, with Mac computers updated with Core i9 CPUs. But, it is the death knell of the MacIntel. Also, the chips will be RISC-based. So, Apple will design the chips and place them in the Macs like they would the iPad and iPhone. This is the first time in 36 years that Apple has done this. I wish that they would make the chips in America, but you never know. Thanks for letting me share. :O)
  3. Oh. It seems like a German design. Cool. :O)
  4. I once played Food Fight in the arcades at the Minnesota State Fair over thirty years ago. It has a unique way of controlling the character. The character never stops moving, and it is a swivel joystick that spins in place, controlling direction. Cool game. I always liked it.
  5. It was created originally as an arcade game in 1984, I believe, by Atari.
  6. By the way, I have both versions of it, XE and 7800. I know the differences. :O)
  7. The A7800 version is superior in practically every way, to me. I love the game. Plus, it is very entertaining. I always enjoy playing it. :O)
  8. Well, true. It was a European cartoon. It was a French production from Gaumont Television, IIRC. It would have been nice if it had stuff based on the actual movie, not so much the animated series.
  9. Yes. I have both and the A7800 version is much better. Agreed!
  10. I don't know. It is a toss-up for me. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses. I think that they are basically the same. Still, it is a great game.
  11. Another game that I like is, actually, "BugHunt." The graphics are pretty good. Sure, the game play could be better. But, I thought it looked good anyway. Veteran programmer Robert Zdybel designed the game.
  12. Also, I am a WWII history buff. You see, my grandfather and great-uncle were at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. Makes me proud that I have that history in my family. ^_^
  13. I have "Into the Eagle's Nest," for the XE. That is a VERY difficult game, but I like it. It's also very rare, too. Great overhead perspective in the game, too. It shows what is going on. :O)
  14. I say might because Atari Jaguar accessories are getting scarce and so are parts for them. That is why a Jaguar can have a street value of USD$1,300.00 or possibly more.
  15. I am guessing, if he has the parts for it, Brad from Best Electronics. But, I am not sure. It might be possible.
  16. I have both the original (revision A, I believe) and Pro controllers. Actually, the Pro is not a reproduction. It is the Atari-manufactured Pro controller. I bought it for a pretty penny, too. Great controller, though. It suits me well, especially with my TeamTap.
  17. Yes, it would have been a game changer. Better design, for sure. :O)
  18. My father had a Nintendo DS, but he never had interest in it, and I think it was lost. He was never interested in the more advanced games, but loved Artillery Duel for the A2600 and Choplifter for the A7800. Sometimes, when I play certain CRPGs (computer role-playing games), I get bored because I get stuck. Miracle Warriors: Seal of the Dark Lord for the Sega Master System was one of those games. It became a chore because I could never figure out how to summon Terarin, the Dark Lord, so I could defeat her. It was my cousin's game I played, and he was stumped as well. We eventually gave up on it. However, if I tried it today, I could probably defeat it. I have beaten many RPGs: Legend of Zelda, Phantasy Star (the first two games), Final Fantasy for the NES (the original RPG), Shadowgate for the NES, and those are among the ones that I remember. Thanks for letting me share.
  19. My favorite game on the XE is probably Crystal Castles. I like Bentley's antics in that game. I once, as a kid, made him my imaginary friend. It was a hoot. :O)
  20. It's not you. Atari games are randomized every time that they turn on. They never play the same way twice. :O)
  21. Man, that is a bummer. Well, here's to hoping that everything gets worked out. Thanks for the link. :O)
