  1. Another thing that's relatively unique to the PS3 library is compilations and remasters -- there are quite a few worth looking into. Take a look at Metal Jesus' video specifically on the topic -->

Dragon's Crown is easily in one of my top 5 for the Playstation in general. I didn't include it because there is the superior remake/release for it on the PS4.

@socrates63 I actually do own Puppeteer but have yet to play it. Although I'm pretty sure my oldest son played through the game once. Is it a really cool game?

I have yet to play Puppeteer myself 😂 but I hear that it's really good. It looks to be a true hidden gem as it doesn't get talked about too much.

  3. If you're buying digital, I'd recommend thinking about getting something that's much cheaper than the physical version. As already recommended, 3D Dot Game Heroes is a good choice and I'd also add Puppeteer. Physical prices have gone up a bit on those. I believe both are PS3 exclusives.

Games by Vanillaware should also be considered (Dragon's Crown).

I like to focus on platform exclusives when looking for games to add: Heavenly Sword, ICO & Shadow of the Colossus collection,

PS3 has a lot of great series that are probably essentials to any PS3 collection: God of War, Gran Turismo, inFamous, Killzone, LittleBigPlanet, MLB The Show, MotorStorm, Ratchet and Clank, Resistance, Uncharted.

I bought my PS3 specifically to play Uncharted, and playing that series alone made it a worthwhile purchase for me.

  4. Since I got my iPad Pro (the larger one), I had been using it with the Logitech keyboard case. For a brief time, I tried using it with a mouse and the Nuphy Air75 keyboard. I returned the keyboard as it was too big for what I wanted. Recently, I didn’t like the feel of the trackpad on the Logitech keyboard. It felt a little worn down. I decided to look into a separate keyboard (mechanical keys, low profile, Bluetooth) and mouse setup again.

I researched a little and saw that the 65% keyboard size may just be what I was looking for. I saw mechanical keyboard models by Logitech and Keychron that looked intriguing. I ended up going with the Keychron K7 Pro. The other models I considered were the Keychron K7 and Logitech MX Mechanical Mini.

I am super happy with my choice. It’s very small and yet very comfortable to use. Typing on it feel good (I went with the hot swappable Gateron brown switches).

  5. Great overview, Rob 🙂 and I totally agree with you.

I switched from the 6S Plus to a 13 Pro a little over a year ago (just after the 14 hit the shelves). That was October 2022. I asked myself whether it was worth getting the battery replaced in the 6S Plus (replaced the battery 2 maybe 3 times during the time I used it) and decided it was no longer worth it. In addition to the cost of the battery, the phone was getting slow. I figured I used it long enough.

I loved the fact that the price of the 13 dropped by 50% as soon as the 14 was available for purchase. I owe one to the sales guy told who tipped me off. I only waited one more week and got the phone for half price. Since my wife and sons also made the switch, that was four 13 Pro so quite the savings.

  6. On November 27, I ordered these books from an ebay seller who was located about 30 minutes from me. In hindsight, I should have asked if local pickup was an option. It would have saved made quite a bit on shipping and saved me time and aggravation. The package was shipped promptly enough but USPS decided to take a detour, and it traveled to the midwest, southwest, Cali, and then back to Seattle. Actually, I was not expecting to see the package for a couple of more weeks, so it arrived sooner than I expected 😂

Probably like many here, I have a lot of nostalgia for COMPUTE! magazine. I bought many of their Atari books back in the day, and those books are one of the few relics that I have in my possession from back in the day. I may go hunting to see if I can obtain the remaining couple books from COMPUTE!'s Atari 8-bit books.

I may need to start a catalog of my computer books. I didn't realize I already had the assembler book.

  7. Mail call — a little bit of love spread across multiple Atari systems.

A few years ago, I bought the Jaguar in order to participate in the I/O’s high score challenge game Cybermorph. It is where I started my Jaguar experience (sadly, it’s still the only game that I’ve played on the Jag console). Despite the memes and mocks that came my way 😂 I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the game so much so that I wanted a boxed copy.

I also picked up sealed copy of Spectrum Holobyte’s Falcon. I remember what a big deal it was for the Atari ST when Spectrum Holobyte decided to release the sim for the ST. I didn’t realize there was an expansion. I hate buying sealed games, but the price was too good, so I’m happy to have it in my collection.

I also got couple of Scott Dayton’s recent releases that he made available at Floria Free Play.

  8. I managed to pick up a game that I thought I'd never have due to price. I managed to get it at auction for much cheaper than I expected, and this game is in very good condition.

I collect Atari games released by Synapse Software. I think I now have 12 for the Atari and 2 for the C64 (Shamus and Drelbs which I'd like to get the A8 versions of). The other Synapse game that I hold out very little hope of acquiring is Alley Cat.

  9.

From the list, I haven't seen the following. I compiled the list to see if there was a pattern, but I'm not sure. I bought a few of these on disc but haven't watched them yet. Princess Bride and Godfather are probably the two from this list that I'm hoping to watch very soon. The others on my radar next include Apocalypse Now and Dances with Wolves.
