  1. Using some of the points I brought up earlier, I made a quick video comparing Adventure and The Legend of Zelda:
  2. I'm always amazed by the kindness you give some of these terrible games. Who knows? I may end up enjoying Swordquest Fireworld!
  3. I already covered what I think the greatest pack in games of all time were here, but now I pick my favorites. They may not have done as good as a job selling their systems like the greats, but they were my favorites.
  4. All you need now is a demonstration cartridge to go with it!
  5. Technically, just like most Sega Genesis controllers, this works with 2600, albeit only the B button. But, you can assign it different turbo speeds, switch the joystick mode between 4 way & 8 way, and I believe the joystick itself uses micro-switches, making this a pretty cool 2600 option.
  6. Ok. This is the item that started off my week, and was the one I was most excited to get: The Capcom Fighter Power Stick GS for the Sega Genesis This came out along side of Street Fighter II: Special Championship Edition and the introduction of six button controllers for the Genesis. I believe it was advertised in an insert included with SF2:SCE along some other SF2 products. It wasn't widely available and I think it was over $50 new (Maybe $69.99). I've wanted one since I was a kid and for some reason, I even like the odd color scheme. It feature variable and individual turbo with small led lights to show which button is active. I think the joystick feature micro-switches, by the sounds of it. You can even turn it from a 4 way to 8 way joystick! And it works with Atari systems!!!! (Although not quite as good as Edladdin's stuff) This one really worried me. I won the auction for less of the price of shipping and the seller had several delays. I was worried it would never arrive when the seller found out how much it would cost to ship it. But thankfully, one day a large rate box arrived with a corner of the joystick popping out (just to show how big it is!) What a great start to a great week on the bay!
  7. After a bit of a break to get well, I return with Ep 330: Monopoly Sega Genesis
  8. Ep 329: Artillery Duel (Atari 2600)
  9. Ep 327: Space Invaders (Atari 2600)
  10. After being under the weather for over a week, I'm slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things.

  11. When asked about why they are no longer making the NES Classic, Nintendo said: "We don't like money" Actually, I will be the lone wolf and say that there may be more to this story than we understand. While it's possible Nintendo created a scarcity on purpose, it's also possible the Nintendo vastly underestimated the demand there would be. Remember, both the Wii U and 3DS failed to meet sales expectations when they launched and the plug n play market had been shrinking when this was released. Also, it doesn't make sense why they would stop making this unless: 1) It was not making the profit we think or 2) The licensing deals with some of the 3rd party games were about to end.

  13. That stinks! I'm curious: Do you think it's just the Galaga music at the beginning of the theme they're flagging? The audio bots only seem to care about what they hear, so it doesn't matter what is going on while the music is playing. The only thing that may prevent it from getting flagged is if there is some other audio mixed in, like someone talking.
  14. I have one that's been collecting dust since my move (I use the 3DS the most) But I do like it and have a fair size collection of both games and movies. And just like Rick, I oddly enjoy watching movies on it. I even watched the first seasons of Sanford and Son and Good Times on it. And there are some great retro compilations for it. The only complaints I have is that I've had several UMD cases split open and the battery life stinks as I've already had to replace a couple. Of course, it may be partly due to the fact that I've had to relay on generics, since Sony no longer makes batteries for it. Also, I now consider the PSP retro
  15. Even thought the Genesis version was a launch title, the Master System version was one of the later releases here in the US (Same thing goes for Columns, Ghouls & Ghosts, Golden Axe and some other titles). So it is an uncommon SMS game here in the states.
  16. Battleship was $1. (early 2000's version. Looks like all the pieces are there, just missing the instructions) The Music Machine double VHS was 50 cents. I had the original Music Machine album as a kid. It was a late 70's Christian children's album with great music and great art. I bought the tapes thinking I might dig out my VCR and copy it to DVD for me and the kids, but it seems the art is not as good as the record art and after some research it sounds like they didn't use much of the great, original music. Now I'm considering flipping it on eBay. Still, not bad for 50 cents. And yes, the original album inspired the insanely rare 2600 game.
  17. That's a tough one. Usually, it's a robot that makes the claims on the authors behalf. In this case, it is sooo close to the original it might catch it, if the bot is programmed for that specific song. In game music is not claimed as much as regular songs and music, so it might not get claimed, but it still could. So far the only in game music I've been claimed on is the Star Wars music from the Sega CD Rebel Assault endings I've posted. (In my review, where I was talking over most everything, it did not get claimed) My suggestion: If you decided to go with it, have a backup edit with different music just in case, or at least keep enough files that you could re-edit it if need be
