Well, I have some catching up to do. Thanks for all the links and updates. I'm currently watching the "continues" episodes. And we just started watching "The Expanse" (not Star Trek, but sci-fi). Those should keep me busy for a while.

2' 19" 55 Getting a little better each time.

"The Oregon Trail" handheld game by Basic Fun -- sold at Target. I got one on Black Friday and finally had a chance to play it this week. My overall impression: It's a lot of fun for those who remember the game. My high school had a lab full of Apple II computers that had this game, so I have fond memories. Maybe that's why I like it so much. The screen is very nice, and I like the solid/substantial buttons. My first attempt -- I lost two of five party members, but made it to Oregon. On the down side: It only plays one game. It's too bad they didn't add a few other classic MS-DOS or Apple II games. And the $25 price is way too high for what it is. I got it on BF for $16, and that feels like a much better price point. Here's and LGR review on Youtube too: Anyone else have one of these, and what did YOU think?

It would have been cool to see them use it even on games that didn't really need it. For example, it could have been used to pause, reset, start, select so you could do that from your seat instead of going back to the console on all the games that came after it's release.

Have you tried a real mouse? Attach a mouse and see if that works. If yes, it indicates a broken set of twisters I'm pretty sure the controller config for retropie allows you to set up a mouse as the x and y axis (instead of a joystick) I've seen people set up a Tron machine, which has both a joystick AND a spinner. So I highly encourage you put your issue on the Facebook group. It is fixable, and I don't think you need to edit any text files unless you want both a joystick and spinners.

i am happy to try and help. I don't have any kind of twisty knob controller to test with, though. There is a Facebook group for retropi, and you may have good luck asking for help from those experts. Look for groups named "Retropie Makers" and "RetroPie". This is fixable. I just wish I had a similar controller so I could start experimenting and testing.

Awesome job. The only thing I would add is that HD floppy disks can be used too. Just put a piece of masking tape over the hole. I know it can be very difficult to find DD disks anymore.

2'29"74 I'm playing on a Retron 3. This is a fun game. The controls are a little sluggish -- I was expecting Mario Kart. But it makes sense being in a hover craft and all.

On the bright side, he's got Tim Horton's and universal health care. So really, Rob is the winner all year round.
