  1. I do not have a 3DS, so put me on the "interested" list.
  2. Is there another Genesis you can try it on? As I understand it, there's not much to the converter. The hardware is embedded in the Genesis itself. So I'm going to guess it's a Genesis issue, not a converter issue.
  3. I noticed the same thing while looking for Model 1 power adapters recently. 350ma! No way! I found a 9V 1.2A brick at Goodwill for $2, but the polarity is wrong. Easy enough to cut and reverse the connector, and that will be a future project for me.
  4. There's usually a label on the power brick. Look for the "Output: " line. Although sometimes you need eagle eyes and good lighting to actually read the dang thing.
  5. I don't think so. Check the amperage output on that power supply. If it's less than 1a, it's too low.
  6. Great news on finding that PBC! I kind of went the other way and finally found a real Master System. As far as the issue you have, it's probably a dirty cart connector. Take the PBC out and clean the pins that go into the Genesis cart port with q-tips and alcohol. Clean it several times. I mean clean it, plug it into the genesis. Take it out, and clean it again. 2 times should do it. The other suggestion is to make sure you're using a good "Sega" branded power adapter on the Genesis. Should be the kind that puts out 1.2 amps.
  7. Oooh boy, do I stink at this one. 5 goals.
  8. For sale -- asking $45 shipped in the USA. An Atari 2600 with composite mod. I did not do this mod myself. This console came to me broken, and I simply had to resolder several wires. It works perfectly. Repair and clean-up are all I did to it. Full disclosure -- the A/V ports were placed a little too close together for my taste. Normal composite cables work just fine...but larger cables (example: Monster) will not fit. The mod itself was done properly and looks good to me. This is for the console only. Upgrades available for extra: After-market power adapter - $7 A/V cables (yellow/white/red) - $3 Joysticks - $6 each Games - PM me. I have a bunch of common games. Probably $1.50 each (to account for extra shipping cost).
  9. Some interesting tidbits from the IMDB trivia page for Rampage: The mutated rat, seen towards the beginning of the film, is likely meant to be Larry from the Atari Lynx version of Rampage (1986). The character was a special inclusion who only appeared in this version of the game. Both George, the gorilla, and Ralph (the wolf) share their names with their video-game counter-part. The crocodile, who is called Lizzie in the game series, never has its name mentioned. At one point of the film, in the background, you can see George pull a person out of a building and eat them. This was an option in the video game to gain health for your character. Despite sitting at only 51% on Rotten Tomatoes, Rampage (2018) actually stands as the best reviewed movie based on a video game of all time. So there you go. "best reviewed movie-based-on-a-video-game of all-time".
  10. You got me! Maybe it was the lack of big-name stars. But the movie felt lifeless to me.
  11. Our Goodwills here have a return policy. 14 days, you can return it for a store credit. But you must leave the price sticker intact. It does not apply to media. So CD's, DVD's, and disc-based games are "as-is".
  12. I don't know how we missed this one. Rampage, the movie, based on the old arcade game! Starring Dwayne Johnson. I just finished watching this at home. What can I say -- I liked it. They did a really good job of fleshing out an (albeit ridiculous) story around the game! It's fun, it moves quickly, and the ending portion is reminiscent of the old monster-movie movies of our youth. Lots of destruction and fights and WOW. Anyways, I say turn off your brain and give it a go.
  13. OK, probably a good time to revisit this. I saw the movie at home a couple of weeks ago....totally forgettable IMO. It was fine. Just "Meh". I honestly am having trouble remembering much of anything about it. And that's not good.

You mean both controllers? Or do I have a game built-in that I don't know about?
  15. Very cool, thanks so much for sharing. INTV isn't my system of choice...I've had 2600 tools loaded on my computer now for over a year but cannot find the time to get started there. I think I'll write a book about finding time and motivation for the modern busy adult.
  16. Thank you, Justin, for bringing this topic up. Now that I've got my collection out (to take the picture), I'm really looking forward to looking through some of the reels. Some of these things are really like time-machines...you actually feel/smell/taste your memories from 30, 40 years ago. Just like music or art can do.
  17. I LOVE the View Master. View Master was invented in my hometown of Portland, OR. The factory that made them was here for most of my childhood. Here is a picture of my meager collection. I have about 50 reels. The old viewer is long gone, but I kept the one we bought when my kids were young. Mid 1990's. You guys are right that the older viewers were really special. They were heavy and had glass lenses and metal cases. I have no idea what happened to ours. The modern ones work well, but feel cheap. My favorite reels are the "travel" ones (example: Yellowstone, Crater Lake, etc). They really capture landscapes of things that in many cases no longer exist. The other really cool ones are the ones where they made and photographed little 3D vignettes. A lot of the old Disney ones (Snow White, Pinoochio) were done this way, and those ones have a "Rankin / Bass" style of art and a 3D effect to them. As far as collecting goes, these things just don't come up that often that I've seen. But when I see them, I usually grab them. Also pictured is my Fisher Price movie viewer. I need to find more moves for that thing too.
  18. My wife and I will do the Goodwill run once a month or so. We usually hit 1 or 2. Some of them are farther away, but usually have much better stuff. You just never know what you're going to find. She likes to look at dishes, and has found some pieces that we love and use and others that are worth a ton and we've sold. The last time we went, I found an XBOX game and a really nice desk chair (which I'm using right now). The hunt is a little harder these days...but still worthwhile.
  19. Poland still kicked my butt 9-3 first time I tried it. I don't know why I picked them as an opponent. I'm going to try more this weekend. I love 8-bit sports games!
  20. It's always exciting to find the PS1 games mixed in with the CD's at Goodwill.

Here she is all cleaned up and put back together. I also got a close-up of the damage above the controller port that probably broke the trace. Both controllers work perfectly, but one is missing the plastic pad. How the heck does that happen??? I need to keep my eye out for a donor controller.
  22. OK. Here you go. They printed out just a tad small...but I'm not going to fuss about it. I like this a lot. They look fine, but it would be obvious to anyone that looks closely that these are not original. It's just plain paper. And they'll come off easy (I just used a glue stick) if I ever find something better. I left my home-made marquee....it looks a little cleaner and it gives it that personal touch. Thanks so much! This makes me so happy. I really am pleased to have one of these in nice working condition.
  23. Shadow Warrior 2 for PC is free for 48 hours on GOG.com https://www.pcgamer.com/shadow-warrior-2-is-free-on-gog-for-the-next-48-hours/

It's so weird....I have one of those power-base converters for Genesis....but I wanted a "real" SMS just the same.
