  1. I haven't ever shipped to Germany before, but if you are willing to figure this out with me, I'm willing to do it.
  2. http://forums.atari.io/index.php/topic/1040-rickr-want-list/
  3. Folks, I need these things GONE quickly, as we are going through a remodel at home. If you are interested, please let me know soon. I plan on putting these on the AtariAge forums and Facebook soon.
  4. Imagine trying to get a fake gun stock through security nowadays! Ha ha....CAVITY SEARCH!
  5. I love these stories. Thank you!
  6. I agree with your point on Chromebooks. It's really nice to get a brand new computer sometimes -- everything is new and works, and the battery is fresh. $200 is a great price to pay. I had no idea they could be hacked, so that's good to know for future reference. At the same time, it's just really cool to re-purpose something old and useless. A computer for $3??? Why not. Makes a fun project. The little tiny laptop a few posts above was $150 from Staples. They (and office depot) usually have something similar still for $200-$250. I'd say they are totally worth it, but only if it comes with a good CPU. Avoid the AMD E1, or any single-core processor. Heck, the Windows 10 license alone is $125 or so by itself! Your push back on installing on linux is fine by me...it's just different. Once you get the hang of it, no big deal at all. And as MaximumRD mentioned, most of the stuff you need is available via the Software Manager app, and that's super easy to use.
  7. SOLD! For sale is a Sears Heavy Sixer in very nice condition. It comes with a Sears branded set of paddles and a black Atari power adapter (I think most heavy sixers came with grey power adapters). The paddles have been cleaned and are jitter free. The console is in original condition and it works perfectly. It has excellent picture quality. I'm asking $75 plus shipping. Or make me an offer or trade. I promise to wrap this thing up in bubble wrap and ship in a large box. That may make shipping a little more costly, but it will keep it from getting damaged.
  8. All sold. Thanks I have 3. The following has been done to all of them: A new flex circuit (from Best Electronics) has been installed. Every part has been cleaned. Foil dots have been glued on to all buttons. Every button has been tested and works nicely. Just a note that I didn't replace any other parts, so these do have worn boots and various dings and dents. Any cracked plastic was repaired with glue. They aren't in the nicest cosmetic condition, but they do work, and they should work for a long time. I normally sell these for $30, but for Atari.io forum members, these are for sale for only $25 each (plus shipping). Buy more than one and get a discount.
  9. Wow! If you have any pictures, scan and share those too if it's not too much trouble.
  10. Check this out. Gamestop will offer Xbox 360 for FREE after rebate! https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier/2017/11/16/gamestop-is-literally-giving-away-xbox-360s-on-black-friday/#128fb95750a3
  11. It came! That didn't take long. All the way from Netherlands. This is what comes in the bag: I chose a Combat with a bad label (and no end label) as the shell donor: While I have the cart taken apart, I clean everything up with alcohol and a cotton ball: A quick test after assembly (and before I put the stickers on): And finally, I put the stickers on using a Yars' Revenge to make sure I orient them correctly:
  12. Mint seems pretty solid. It's been going strong on my old machine now for a while with no complaints.
  13. Not Linux, but... I thought I'd share this little laptop I mentioned before. It runs Windows 10. I bought this one a few years ago at retail, and it's super nice. It has no mechanical parts at all...no fans, no hard drive, so it's very light and quiet. It runs a 4-core Intel Atom, has 2 GB of memory, and 32 GB flash memory (as a hard drive). I got a really nice bluetooth mouse from a thrift store today, and it works great with this PC.
  14. Some nice complete games for $2 each.
  15. Indeed you did! Now with cleaned teeth...my guess is....Bumper Bash.
  16. Guess from the dentist waiting room:. Communist Mutants From Space.
  17. How exciting! Good luck, you'll do great I'm sure.
  18. Added an LED shop light to the attic so I can see my treasures better.
  19. Spoiler alert! I think the most creepy part for me was the awful bathtub/doorbell scene in the final episode. YUCK!
  20. Finished it a few days ago. It was excellent! Great show.
  21. One other "old-school" feature: It's a great game for getting in a few minutes of fun. Each level can go pretty quickly. Honestly, the more I play, the more it reminds me of old text and graphic adventure games. Great fun and I'm hooked.
  22. Count me "in", but consider me to be the first cut if we end up with an odd number of participants. I'll just do the food bank donation if that ends up being the case. Wish list posted later. Thanks!
  23. This was the pack-in game for the Intv2, wasn't it? If so, great choice.
