  1. Ballblazer traded some 5200 manuals to me. And as an extra-special bonus, included the Sears Super Video Arcade sales brochure. That's really awesome because that's the model of Intellivision that I have! Thank you!!
  2. From Willie! at ArcadeUSA. Check out this mod video:
  3. Good points. It's only slowed down my collecting for those systems that aren't at the top of my list anyways. For example, I do have a Harmony cart, but I still will buy any 2600 game I don't have. The Harmony cart is just a lot more convenient to use. Plus all the homebrews and hacks.
  4. I loved the old mini-series, but had no idea there was a newer version. I need to check that out. That alien baby crawling out of the womb was really quite creepy back then!
  5. Is that your paddle at the bottom of the screen, or a Tic Tac that you stuck there for safekeeping?
  6. Check out the perfect controller for 5200 Super Breakout:
  7. California Games is a must.
  8. You need it? I will trade it to you if so.
  9. Try ginger pills for that motion sickness. Just discovered this myself and had a trouble free flight to SC. Hoping for the same on the way back.
  10. I have retropie on a pi 1, and use it for arcade game emulation, for which it works very nicely. I also tried 2600 games, and they work great. I have not tried SNES or NES....but if you have time, I can try sometime later this week. We can compare notes.
  11. And an additional bit of info.... We do have Chick-Fil-A at home, and I'm not a fan. It's pretty costly, and there's a ton of butter in everything. That just makes me feel sick after. I understand why people love it though....just not something my body can tolerate well.
  12. Just got back from Zaxby's. AF's description pretty much hit it on the head (except they DO have slaw). In fact, the menu at Zaxby's is pretty large, with salads, wings and a bunch of different sauces. I like their Texas Toast better...although I'm not supposed to eat that due to dietary restrictions. I had a few bites anyways. The chicken is really good. The fries are great...but a little too salty for me. RC's has a very limited menu, and that's a good thing in my book. It means they focus on what they do best. Reminds me of In-N-Out burger, which also has a tiny menu. And my winner is.......RickR. For getting to try them both. Both excellent, I enjoyed them very much. And for less cop-out winner: I think RC's is higher quality. As AF mentioned, their sauce is really good. I like the simpler fries better too. If I were dining alone, I would choose RC's every time. BUT....if I was taking my family or wife...I'd choose Zaxby's. The bigger menu gives more choices. Easier to find something healthier too. Both are great. Thank you guys for suggesting them. I wish we had one or the other at home...I'm sure it would be a hit.
  13. Arenafoot, you are truly an asset to this community.
  14. There is NO campiness, that's true. But there is a lot of homage. And tons of characters you will love or hate. And a whole lot of surprises you won't see coming.
  15. I know we've argued about it multiple times in the forums. Arenafoot and jmjustin6 always mention these two (although I can't remember who likes which). Anyways, I just tried Cane's, and it was awesome. I'll try Zaxby's within the next few days. Yes, while my wife is off working, I am sampling the fast-food joints they have down south that we don't have at home. Don't worry, fancy restaurants are being visited with her in the evenings. Also tried "Steak N Shake" and was immensely impressed. Such a great deal. There is no way you can find a table service restaurant back home at these prices. WOW! Southern living is alright!!
  16. I found a really nice game store while visiting Charleston, SC. "Starlite Gaming". They had a huge amount of really great stuff for most systems. Oldest I could see on the floor was NES, so i asked if they had anything older. They were nice enough to bring out a box of "the good stuff" (to me anyways) and let me paw through it. So I picked out a few titles...including a boxed Sears Baseball! Highly recommended for anyone in the area. Give them a shot.
  17. Agree completely. It was of of the few great sci-fi series to come after Star Trek. But there are so many lost opportunities on this one. If only they'd had more support from ABC.
  18. If you ever get some time, give the new a chance. It didn't grab me at first either. But after a while, it really did. To the point of eagerly waiting for and watching every episode that came out. The end does not disappoint either. The new does have a "Star Trek" connection. The "feel" of TNG is evident.

  20. Starting a thread here after a discussion started in a "Hello!" post.... I'm assuming we have a ton of fans here of the show. Question is....old version, new...or both? I fall in the "Both" camp. The original was great...but you can just feel the interference of the network -- kind of souring the experience. "Add a kid!", "not too bloody", etc. And the budget always seemed to be in question. Re-used shots for example. Hokey effects, another. And finally, the almost complete reboot for season 2. Give me a break! Still, absolutely loved it at the time, and I think it's very watchable still. The reboot is awesome. You can tell they had a vision and had no compromises. I LOVE the quiet space effects. Great effects, great writing, great acting all around. This show is spectacular. What do you all think?
  21. We should start a separate thread on BSG. Both here.
