  1. Me either.

Here's the full lowdown, though: The Quackshot I neglected to buy the last time I visited the store was sadly gone this time. :(

The Sega Master System they had for $299 is still there, and I got a better look at it this time... I think it may actually be worth the price. It's got the Light Gun AND the SMS 3D glasses, which I've heard are not easy to find, and some other accessories. I've decided to try and save up for it.

Also, I gave serious consideration to buying Swordquest: Earthworld for $4, but decided on Phoenix for $3.95 instead.

  2. My trip to the retro store was fruitful today, though my haul was admittedly slim. I have to stick to cheaper prices because of a tight budget, so had to avoid awesome stuff like NES Pinball for $10.

Anywho, Kirby's Pinball Land, Legacy of the Wizard, and Phoenix.

  3. I know it's ageing... I'm just not very happy about it.

I've only ever had one console/handheld while it was still a commercially viable product prior to 3DS, and that was the PSP. Everything else I've owned I've been quite late to the party. The Wii, for instance. I didn't get mine till a full year after all wifi support was cut.

When the NX comes out, the 3DS will be a dead man walking, and I doubt its awesome web features will be left online for too awful long.

That, and, I feel like the really quite incredible New Nintendo 3DS will be sadly shafted as a result.

It might still be 5 year old tech at its core, but I believe it's enough of an upgrade over the original 3DS to deserve a life span longer than it's gonna get in the long run.

  4. I don't know how I feel about this.

If NX is a straight portable, then that will render the 3DS obsolete essentially overnight.

Considering I only managed to get on the 3DS bandwagon this year, the impending end of my new favorite handheld is not something I view lightly.

Another thing. Breath of the Wild did not, to me at least, seem to be tailored to a portable type of play, like, say, Link's Awakening was.

I have a definite idea of what I expect from a portable game, and Breath of the Wild looks like more of a home console game. So I still think the NX must have a significant home aspect.

  5. Went to Goodwill today. Had a decent little haul, nothing too spectacular.

However, I was quite pleased to find Animal Crossing: City Folk for the Wii, as I'd been wanting the game for quite awhile.

Ho, what sorcery is this? Not City Folk, but the ORIGINAL Animal Crossing for the GameCube???

I am now officially ten times happier.

(And, I'm not kidding here, I don't really care that City Folk is completely missing, I've been wanting the original Animal Crossing for some time.)

  6. I have three Fisher Price movie viewers. Things are pretty obscure.

I rarely ever see them for sale anywhere, though I do have at least three movies: Lonesome Ghosts, Cinderella, and Instructional Football Techniques from a real football player whose name escapes me at the moment.

The Football movie is unfortunately broken, as the film ripped in two not long after I got it, and sadly, I don't think there is any way to repair it.

(I believe it to be extremely rare, though. I could not find ANY information about instructional sports titles from Fisher Price online, so I don't know.)
