  1. Awesome! We're glad that you like them and that they got there so fast! Thanks for sharing the photo too!
  2. Kombinera is now live in the VCS store and also in virtually every modern gaming platform. The early reviews are very positive. Could this puzzle game from St. Louis developers Graphite Labs & Joystick be a hit for Atari? https://www.thexboxhub.com/kombinera-review/ https://www.gamespew.com/2022/04/kombinera-review/ https://screenrant.com/kombinera-game-review/ https://purenintendo.com/review-kombinera-nintendo-switch/
  3. The screen rolls on the intermission on my UAV modded 7800. It's fine in emulation. I'll have to drag out a 2600 to see if I have the issue there. Honestly, all Atari needed to do was choose the right color scheme and it would have been that much better. The idea that they messed up their exclusive home version of the hottest video game property out there speaks volumes about their leadership at the time.
  4. I'll still be at the office but will try to hear the live stream if I can. The early reviews for Kombinera have been very good to excellent.
  5. Probably because it wouldn't work in-universe. 😉 Why serve in Engineering on the Titan after learning the secrets of the Traveler? And is Nemesis canon? 😀
  6. I said this exact thing earlier. He'll just tell himself, in-universe Wesley is with the Traveler learning advanced maths and exploring infinite planes of existence...it just wouldn't make sense...in-universe. Right guys? 😉
  7. Exciting! Only poor Wil is left on the Ready Room.
  8. I quite like this preview. I was always a TOS fan first so this is right up my alley.
  9. Atari Podcast with Kombinera devs Graphite Labs and Joystick.
  10. Blaze announced a free Game of the Month for VS. One game a month, downloaded to your console and for 30 days. https://evercade.co.uk/game-of-the-month
  11. Even if Arzt wasn't the best brand ambassador, he was an ardent defender of the VCS. I hope that the next leader is more software focused and has clearer messaging about the platform. Also, Atari needs a press release immediately to get ahead of speculation. Minimally we should see something to assure VCS owners of Atari's commitment to the platform and introducing either transitional or permanent leadership. My org recently went through a leadership change. There was a ton of coordination on messaging to assure stakeholders of stability, an announcement of interim leadership, and a statement on recruitment strategies.
  12. Here's a great new interview with Antstream Arcade CEO Steve Cottam. There are a few mentions of the AtariVCS and confirmation that Atari's PS1 era games are coming to the service. https://sea.ign.com/atari-1/183838/news/dissecting-the-rise-of-game-streaming-services-with-antstream-arcade-ceo-steve-cottam
  13. Just two more days until Kombinera releases on 4/7! Exclusive VCS content confirmed by one of the devs. From the Atari Official Discord:
  14. Newsflash: Michael Arzt, COO of Atari VCS and Connected Devices is no longer with the company. See his heartfelt statement via LinkedIn. Arzt is clearly proud of the VCS and the work he did for Atari. The big question: What does this mean for Atari's nascent PC/Console Hybrid? From his post: "I happily leave the Atari VCS in a good place and ready for what’s next." Time will tell. Hat tip to VCS Connect via Twitter for sharing the news!
  15. This video from Into The Vertical Blank gives a great sense of the hype machine leading up to Atari Day 1982 through old ads and newspaper clippings. Fun stuff!
  16. I'm using the VCS Modern Controller, which is an Xbox One style gamepad. This game was designed for gamepad I personally find it the most natural to use the analog thumbstick. The Classic Joystick works well too.
  17. 23,640 on a 7800 via Harmony with a Coleco Gemini Dual Command controller.
  18. Glad that you're checking it out @RickR! One of the things about the Recharged series is that the challenge levels really teach you how to use certain power-ups. Spending time going through the challenges will help your performance in the arcade mode.
  19. PSA: It looks like MicroCenter is down to their last Atari VCS in Fairfax, VA at $249 for the All-In Edition bundle.

Many folks have been successful in getting Best Buy to price match using the online portal. That opportunity will close once MicroCenter is sold out. Regular price is $399 for that bundle.

  20. It looks we're getting close now! These screenshots from Tony Barnes look fantastic!
