  1. Added a new CRT to the collection today. This is the first time I've unlocked the secret cat screen in Phoenix! 😂🤣🕹️

  2. Not a pick up exactly, but I won a signed Evercade as part of a fundraiser drawing that Blaze sponsored for a UK charity. Its the black ltd. edition UK market premium pack that comes with Namco Museum Collection 1. We got Data East in the US. I'm a big fan of the Evercade and have the Vs pre-ordered through Songbird. It's cool to have both handheld variations!
  3. Its just a code. The video I linked above shows you how to unlock it.
  4. Nice! It's neat that you found the Minter collection in the wild! You may already be aware, but there is a third unlockable game: Gridrunner!
  5. I just realized that the building I spent five years of my career in was a stand-in for Caprica in the original Battlestar Galactica. My mind is blown!

Too bad it's being demolished as this is typed.

That Caprica scene from the original Battlestar Galactica always gave me 2600 Defender vibes

@Justin, spot on with that Defender cover! Someone in Atari's art department was a BSG fan!

  6. 541 for a first attempt via the VCS Vault with the Classic Joystick's paddle function. I had a better run but realized I was playing with the larger paddle. It was good practice at least. 😂🤣
  7. My GF surprised by me with these socks for Halloween. I couldn't help but think of the @Atari Creep

Happy Halloween everyone! Atari.io is the best forum on the net. As the Creep might say: Creep it real!

Haha that's @Atari Creep all the way!! 🕷️

  8. Very cool @Gianna! What a great way to spend Halloween! 🎃🕸️🕷️
  9. Very cool pickups @TrekMD! I'm interested in Kings of Edom. Have you tried it yet?
  10. That Pinball was a lot of fun! I really want Nester's Funky Bowling again. That was one of my favorites.
  11. I had a Virtual Boy years ago but sold it. That one I picked up on clearance. This one came in today at "not clearance" pricing. LOL. It was an ok deal considering it's boxed, Japanese and has the "solder fix". I had always intended on picking one up again. I even picked up a few games over the years: Teleroboxer, Wario Land and Mario Crash. I've never been so happy to be seeing RED.
  12. XYBOTS is sooo good on the Lynx! Great pick-up there! It's easily in my top 10 for the system.
  13. It's not a physical release but I picked up Black Widow Recharged on the VCS. It's available on everything else too (PS4/5, Switch, XBOX, Steam) but the VCS has 10 bonus challenge levels, and support for rotary or dual joysticks in addition to the modern controller. I know there are skeptics aplenty regarding modern Atari but this and Centipede Recharged are pretty cool takes on the classics for $10.
  14. I got the Ground Zero Texas NE from Limited Run too but didn't spring for the deluxe version. It looks very cool!
  15. The Atari VCS version of Centipede Recharged has 10 exclusive Challenges. They are much harder than the first 30 and have some nice references to the classic sprites. I've got one left to clear!

Thanks, Justin! I appreciate it. At the time of the blog I hadn't yet unlocked the VCS Challenges. They were really difficult. I may try a video review (my first) but work has been insane of late!

I would love to see that! 👍🕹️

  16. I'll add that the biggest fail for me was probably as a seller. When I was 20-21, on my own, and with college debts mounting, I sold off all of my games and consoles, in a lot for about $1400 IIRC. I worked at a small regional chain called Video Game Exchange in high school and had amassed a pretty decent collection of games and consoles. I kept collecting after VGE folded. Picking up a near complete Virtual Boy set for $3 a game, clearance Jaguar titles, the Saturn late releases, Working Designs titles and more. The full collection is too painful to list but I'll never own some of those games again, that's for sure! Talk about a fail! 😂🤣
  17. I've been on eBay since 1998 and I've had a couple of "fails" over the years. Most due to poor packing, one for a bogus description. The most egregious was a new, sealed copy of Alien Brigade that was pristine in the photos. The seller packed it in a cereal box (Lucky Charms, IIRC), wrapped that with a paper grocery bag and shipped it from Hawaii. It arrived with that new copy of Alien Brigade absolutely crushed. I got a refund with no problems but what a waste! I still don't have a physical copy of that game.
  18. I got rid of my DS long ago but I absolutely loved the Etrian Odyssey series. They are fantastic dungeon crawlers from Atlus. Castlevania had some great entries as well: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia. Some of the best entries in the franchise IMHO. Lastly, the Final Fantasy III and IV remakes on DS were sublime. Just realizing typing this that I still had time to play RPGs at one point. 😂🤣
  19. From the Amico/IE site: "Our Collector's Boxed Edition Complete Bundle includes Evel Knievel, Dynablaster, Missile Command, Rigid Force Redux Enhanced, Moon Patrol, Finnigan Fox, Biplanes, and Brain Duel. Each boxed edition comes with a 3-D lenticular card, premium metal coin, and an RFID game card that will automatically activate once each title is available in our Game Shop. Quantities are limited - don't miss your chance to own a piece of gaming history!" The eight game bundle is $149. They are also available in 4 game bundles for $79 each.
  20. Looks like a collector's coin and 3d card.
  21. Very well done and some excellent points made. I've been spending more time with my 5200 lately and I'm considering a UAV mod. I'd also add that @CrossBow did a fantastic job with a 7800 UAV install for me June 2020. Top rate work, communication and service throughout. It's a vast improvement over both RF and my LHE modded unit.
  22. I won a signed, limited edition Evercade as a part of a very cool fundraiser for EveryoneCanUK. I'm a big fan of the handheld and I'm stoked to win and donate to a good cause.  Here is their announcement via Twitter:

      WOW!  That's cool.  Enjoy.

  23. I totally agree! Top notch from Songbird as usual. It's a great nod to River Raid with improved graphics, sound and boss battles. If you like River Raid and the Lynx, you can't go wrong.
  24. I'll have to take a look at that blog @Justin, thanks! Here's an interesting interview with Wade Rosen, the new CEO, via GameBiz. It's clear they want refocus the brand and I hope he gets the chance. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.gamesindustry.biz/amp/2021-09-29-how-ataris-new-ceo-is-looking-to-recharge-the-brand
