  1. The regrettable purchases thread... I like it! Let's start one! Aww man, unwanted dupes, truly, that sucks!
  2. At least you guys got something you're excited about. I ended up wasting nearly $50.00 on an F-22 Raptor model because I was stupid ordering at 3:30 in the morning without coffee in my system and therefore didn't think to read it's actual size. Below are the Franklin Mint models for size comparison.
  3. You want to here A.I. "alter" a Johnny Cash song? This is a riot!
  4. ... and signed by the author... GOOD FIND!
  5. Now that's funny! Too bad I could only give you one like.
  6. ... and they won't weigh 75 pounds... AND they'll even fit in your pants pocket!
  7. I remember that episode, with Quark talking with Garrack about how the Federation was sickening sweet, like Root Beer, but after awhile you get to like it...
  8. I've made poor retro gaming choices.  I have only have two classic platforms, an Atari 5200 and a Texas Instruments 99/4A.  Both topic areas are like ghost towns... sigh.

Sounds like we need a high score challenge for a 5200 game 🙂 The 7800 Asteroids challenge has gotten me playing daily on the 7800 for the first time in like forever.

Atari 7800 opens doors to two different dimensions: 2600 and 7800. Have fun exploring both. Then do the same with a Turbo Duo, opens up TurboGrafx-16, plus CD and Super CD games. Four birds with two stones. TI and 5200 can be lonely spaces.

Yes they can be.  I love my 5200 but have left it behind in favor of other machines.  The 7800 was a true powerhouse before the 8-bit era ended.

  9. Huh? Now this is good advice which should not go unheeded!
  10. Bonus round... Head scratcher... Well, this is one way to start a conversation...
  11. If you've ever needed proof some people are not all "there"... Driveways from H E double toothpick...
  12. Wow, someone who honestly says, "They don't know Jack..." 😁
  13. Downsizing sucks, moving sucks, packing sucks and unpacking sucks even more.  Thankfully Atari.io is here to help me unwind.

This is a nice looking space, got the window next to the chair and looks like a cool tile floor for the feetsies.  I think i like it better than your last setup.  And yeah, moving sucks.....

Actually that's carpet in the den with a huge chair mat so I can roll around and not destroy it.  The TI has become a "stealth machine"...

  14. To me this is very entertaining! My upload speed is about what my download speed was at the old place!

  16. Oh, that's good. That's very good! 👍
  17. I really enjoyed eating out, but found that after I stopped doing it I had about $300.00 more in my pocket at the end of the month and I somehow lost 10 pounds without even trying.

    eBay FAILS

That picture of the Atari 880XL that @RickR posted makes me wonder if all my TI stuff will end up looking like that shortly after I pass away. It's not like the TI is a popular retro item, and not too many people are willing to pay shipping costs on a P-Boxes.

I would be positively ashamed to post something in that condition for sale. It looks like something someone plucked while dumpster diving.
  20. The two systems I own, get little to no attention here, the Atari 5200 and the TI-99/4A. Because of this, my interest has sort of dried up, but I like hanging out here. So, I'd like to get some ideas of what system I could be exploring that gets a decent amount of attention and has new stuff being made for it. Anyone?
