I found this by our dumpster a while back but never figured out what to do with it…

But tonight I figured it out. I have a few console models where I have duplicate machines. It didn’t take me long to figure out which one I wanted to setup.

Tada!  Instant Atari fun! And it has small shelves on the sides, too!


Although one small shelf was missing. I couldn’t find it but maybe someday I can make one.
So the 5200 has a permanent place now along side the Junior model. I only have one 5200 console but it needed a permanent home. I know constantly hooking and removing it every time I wanted to play was not helping it.  
 
Ok, enough talk. I’m going to go play Atari today. You should do the same. It’s good for your mental health.

Odd. The 7800 can be captured through the VCR. The VCS must be converting the signal enough for the HDMI converter to see it. Nice.

I can’t capture my 7800 though.

…is allowing me to capture game play from SuperNES.  I’m trying to do more YouTube videos again.

I really wish some old school publishers would jump on and put up some VCS offerings. Not in PC mode either.

My game room got an upgrade.

Yep.  Did that first thing.  That’s how I was able to put the board in the machine backwards.

It wasn’t too difficult. Take off rubber feet, remove four screws, take off rear cover (it pries off), and lift top half of shell. Remove a few screws holding the motherboard, detach the two ribbon cables going to the front USB ports, then lift out. The RAM slots are underneath. 
 
It has a slot to attach an SSD drive if you want to add extra storage space. It’s a really well made computer board. I was impressed.

Those are great ideas @RickR! I was trying to do that with TurboGrafx and Duo games a few years ago. It’s not easy to build an audience, but very fun to play games and film videos.

Other ideas for you or any other youtubers here....I'd love to see more "how to" videos for difficult games.  Not a complete walk through, but "how-to" do those parts that aren't easy.  For example, landing the plane in NES Top Gun, or getting a turbo-bump start in SNES F-Zero. 
 

I've never really watched livestreams although I have tried a few times.  It's just really hard for me to carve out that time.  But I think you should keep doing whatever you enjoy.

My VCS got a RAM upgrade yesterday.  Someone I know gave me their old gaming laptop RAM which just happened to be DDR4 RAM.  I had no use for it but I held on to it.  All 16 GB now reside inside my VCS.  It's happy.

I'm doing a short questionnaire to see what days would work best for members of Atari I/O to join my livestreams.  I try to start at 7PM but I'm trying to find out what days work best for you guys.  So far I have one person that has been watching every time I do a live feed. Or would you guys rather see standard videos?

Excited to see you playing along, @Atari 5200 Guy!  If you haven't yet, try out "Zen Mode" for Quantum:R - as the name implies, it's quite a bit less stressful when figuring out how things work!

I gave mine a 64 GB USB flash drive I had laying around not being used for anything.
 

I just tried a demo of this.  This one is going to be fun. I had a blast with the demo.
