TrekMD Posted August 3, 2017 Report Posted August 3, 2017 Figured I'd share this here. This is a project by Marc Oberhäuser that I believe deserves attention. Greyfox Posted August 4, 2017 Report Posted August 4, 2017 This is a wonderful looking project only being hampered by its presentation as regards to its book cover which is undeserving considering the content within , I'm sure it's going to do well or hope it does, simple marketing corrections should see this through and a front cover redesign..also I've a little concern over the pricing of the book too? Very expensive for a gallery book with stats. Quote Unofficial Atari: a Visual History WWW.GREYFOXBOOK.COM
RickR Posted August 4, 2017 Report Posted August 4, 2017 Seems kind of odd to omit the Jaguar. Just that one console missing. Sabertooth 1 Quote
TrekMD Posted August 4, 2017 Author Report Posted August 4, 2017 Hmm, not sure why he chose not to include it. Quote 🖖 Going to the final frontier, gaming...
Sabertooth Posted August 8, 2017 Report Posted August 8, 2017 (edited) Yeah, it's really strange that he isn't including the Jaguar given the date range. One more year and he would capture all of Atari, Corp. Most consider the classic era '72-'84. Personally, I think the Atari, Corp. years are fascinating. The Jr., XE line, 7800, ST/TT, Falcon, Lynx and Jaguar. I am still hopeful for Business is War. Edited August 8, 2017 by atarilbc RickR 1 Quote
Sabertooth Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 Regarding the conspicuous absence of the Atari's 64-bit swan song, on FB the author indicated that he had to draw the line somewhere, the book was 700+ pages and he had little knowledge of the Jaguar. I can accept this. TrekMD 1 Quote

Sabertooth Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 Maybe there is an opportunity for someone to write a Jaguar only book... Quote

I can accept this. Yeah, but you're soooooooo close Perhaps if you separated it into two volumes with the Warner sale dividing the content. So volume one could cover the 2600, 5200, and the 8-bit and volume two could cover the 7800, Lynx, later computers & Jaguar Sabertooth 1 Quote The No Swear Gamer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChtJuo040EOCTVziObIgVcg Host of The Atari 7800 Game by Game Podcast on iTunes, Stitcher and YouTube
