I'm debating getting a voice module and some of the voice games, but having them available on the Flashback makes it a tough purchase for me. I'll probably stick to getting more third party stuff.

The wife (in addition to the Intellivision she got me) also got me this 7800 homebrew from AtariAge: So far I have loved this game! Its like Night Stalker but faster and medieval. It actually has different levels as well which makes it more fun. If you have a 7800 and love Night Stalker I highly recommend checking this one out!

Just thought I would share some pics of my Christmas present plus the games I now have for it: All the boxed games came with the bundle my wife got me, plus the console box and "The Stickler" (I laugh every time I read/say that). I had a few of the loose carts lying around (Pitfall, Swords and Serpents, Checkers, Boxing, NBA B-Ball, and Tron Deadly Discs), and the rest I purchased today at a local used game shop I frequent a lot.

My Brother In Law has Dracula and its always a must play when we fire up his Intellivision. The game is hilarious!

I went to one of my favorite local retro shops and dropped about 30 bucks today on a bunch of loose carts: Demon Attack Atlantis Beauty and the Beast Locomotion AD&D (Cloudy Mountain) AD&D Treasure of Tarmin Vectron Locomotion Night Stalker Burgertime Ladybug Lock N Chase Mission X Bump N Jump Treasure of Tarmin and Burgertime were both about 6 bucks, and Beauty and the Beast was 5 bucks, Demon Attack was 2, Atlantis was 3, and the rest were all a buck a piece! I'm going to post pics of my collection as it stands now in another thread.

So I got an Intellivision for Christmas (the original model), and I wondered what games are a must own for it? I have the Flashback, so I was going to focus on titles that weren't on the Flashback first. Burgertime is probably the game I wanted to get the most, and I also have a copy of Tron Deadly Discs (with no overlays sadly), but other than that I'm not sure what to pick up first? I was also thinking about The Dreadnaught Factor, Microsurgeon, and Lock N Chase? Any other suggestions are appreciated!

I'm pretty sure our first family computer, a Tandy 1000sx had a CGA card on it... I remember using a composite out to a 13" black and white to play games we couldn't play on our monochrome monitor. It definitely got the job done! I was really glad when we upgraded to an IBM PS/2 386 machine with VGA though... :-) Edit: So after I actually watched the video (silly me) maybe some of the games I ran weren't Tandy graphics compatible? Sounds like the Tandy may have had graphics closer to EGA of the game supported it? Hoping he does his follow up video on Tandy graphics. I do remember pushing that thing to its limits; I had to arrange files carefully between a low density 3.5 floppy and a low density 5.25 floppy to get Streetrod II working on it.

So... my wife bought this as a birthday present for my daughter next year, but we failed to realize that this was not an XL model, just a standard model. She currently has an XL model, and I don't think she would like going to the smaller size, even though it is the "new" model. I have a standard original 3DS, and my wife has the Zelda 3DS XL, so we don't really need this either. This is brand new in the box, has not been opened yet. I could just take it back to Toys R Us and get our money back, but I think these things are somewhat collectible, so I wanted to gauge interest here first. Below are pictures: Thought about selling on eBay also, but I've never sold anything on eBay so I'm worried with no reputation I'll have issues selling it. I have a ton of positive buyer feedback, but I don't think that factors into sales.

I voted for Pengo. I played it on our first home computer, a Tandy 1000 286 machine, but I've never played the Atari 2600 version.

Know it's been a while, but I finally got a chance to mess around with my Retropie a little more, and after scouring some internet threads, I found that the Pi 1 generally needs to be overclocked to run games well. I bought a heatsink set for it for 5 bucks off Amazon just to help with longevity and to hopefully avoid having it lock up on me. So far I've found that overclocking to the highest setting in Raspbian settings seems to do the trick. Everything seemed to run full speed with no sound issues. Even set to the highest setting, I couldn't get Starfox to run. I tried the medium setting, and I noticed just a little bit of slowdown in Mario Kart and Sparkster, but Super Mario World and SMB3 played just fine. Haven't really tried any MAME stuff yet, but when I do I can pass on my results.

I would think Nintendo would be smart and hedge their bets with Switch. If it takes off, I could see them start to slow down and stop 3DS production, but if Switch fails they will milk the 3DS for all it is worth to stay afloat while they decide what to do next.

Do you know if the Konami code works on it? I know it doesn't on the PC Engine version.

I had a friend, and his dad owned an Amiga, that was really my first exposure to it. I remember playing Test Drive II: The Duel, Lemmings, Kings Quest V, Hoyle Book of Games Volume 2, and some of the Space Quest games on it. Later, I had an uncle mail me his old Amiga, and I used it for a while, mainly to play Ikari Warriors and some other games that came with it, but unfortunately I don't remember what the other titles were. Eventually he found out that I had a PC, and encouraged me to give the Amiga to another uncle that lived fairly close to me that didn't have a computer, so I went ahead and did that. I remember the graphics and sound being really good for the time. I specifically remember my friend's dad upgrading from his Apple II GS to the Amiga, then eventually to a 486 PC. Just wish I would have had more games and more time with mine for the brief moment it was in my hands.

These are purchases, 2 from eBay (Keyboard controllers and Tunnel Runner), but the other three games I purchased from No Swear Gamer:

Spartan X 2 is pretty good, it's the sequel to Kung Fu we never got here in the states. Not sure if you have all the Mega Man games for NES or not, but I didn't, and my wife ended up getting Famicom versions for me instead because they were much less expensive.

It's strange because I remember having two or three copies of this as a kid; in fact, I sold a copy with a spare console and some other games (Donkey Kong, Asteroids, Space Invaders, and Pac Man) I had to another family at my church for 20 bucks. The math game sealed the deal with my friend's mom, it was educational so as long as they promised to spend time on it they could get the Atari. Now I hardly ever see it; seems to be harder to come by these days.

So here's the games I received in a trade with Ballblazer: Center game: Adventures of Tron Also got a box for the Defender II: I'm very geeked to finally have a copy of Stargate/Defender II back in my collection! I had this one as a kid, and played the heck out of it even though I wasn't very good at it. I just loved the pace and the graphics, it was a lot of fun! Another interesting note: this trade puts me over the 200 individual titles mark for the 2600! (201 to be exact) Still have a long way to go, but very exciting!
