Hope you enjoy Bobby is Going Home!
It's an obscure, but fun game.
And for those who can't tell, those are copies of Tron Solar Sailor and Sewer Sam for the Intellivision wrapped up with their manuals and overlays.

I also took this stuff out, as I could not Tetris all the junk back into the box.

I'll get the box off to BTB as soon as I can.

    Thanks!

I played it last night.  It's fun.  It's like a "first person" arcade shooter.  Reminds me of an arcade game whose name escapes me.  First-person and the screen scrolls to the right.... It's not really first person, as your guy is right there in the foreground.  Over the shoulder perhaps?

Anyways, it's fun.  Except the bosses are way too hard.  And it would really benefit from a lightgun.  This game on the wii would be incredible.

Just what everybody wanted for Valentine's Day: a podcast episode... about an NFL football game... on the Jaguar.  Episode 21 - Troy Aikman NFL Football is now available in your RSS-based podcast client, with iTunes and Stitcher following whenever they pick it up.

The next episode will focus on Hover Strike, and I've set an arbitrary feedback deadline of March 9th for that one, if you'd like to send something in (please?).  Thank you for listening!

Yeah I hadn’t had a chance to unwrap anything yet; sorry for the rough pic

I was most excited about Solar Sailer; I’ve been wanting to play it since listening to the Intellivisionaries episode! Also looking forward to trying Bobby Is Going Home. I did try the Tempest game to make sure it worked in my PS3 first and it did; figure since I’ll probably never have a Jag and a copy of Tempest 2000 it would be the next best thing

Good thing you had Tron SS on your wanted list! Before i sent the box, I saw it on your list and realized I had a spare, so I made sure to include it!
Just another reason for everyone to keep their lists updated!

    Hogan's Alley
    Nintendo Entertainment System
    Controller: LIGHT GUN, PLAYER'S CHOICE
    Difficulty Level: Game A
Achieve high score to win challenge
Play on: Real Hardware / Dedicated Console / Emulation OK! ✔
Squad Challenge ends 11:59 pm PST March 31st, 2018

Objective: Play for the highest possible score using the difficulty settings defined in the challenge. Post a photo or video of your score in this thread. Scores must be achieved between February 23rd through March 31st, 2018. Screen captures are not allowed as they are easily manipulated for falsified scores. Multiple submissions are permitted. The player with the highest score at the end of the competition is the victor!

Eligibility: Anyone can join in. All players are welcome!

Play Rules: Games may be played on real hardware or emulation, using any controller or keyboard, following rules and game settings as delineated in the Squad Challenge. Enhancements and hacked versions of this game are not allowed.

Difficulty Level: Game A. This is the default setting for Hogan's Alley.

Fair Play: Players should play fairly, be honest, and have fun! Falsified scores will result in your immediate removal from the site. It goes without saying that no use of cheats, hacks, cartridge frying, enhancements, Photoshop, subterfuge, or any other unfair advantage is allowed. Everybody hates a cheater.

Note on Score Eligibility Date: For this Squad Challenge we are making a special exception and accepting scores achieved as early as February 23rd, 2018. There are two reasons for this. One, our previous Squad Challenge, the 2018 Winter Olympics Special, was on a different schedule and ended earlier than typical Squad Challenges. Two, and most notably, this Squad Challenge was inspired by the enthusiasm behind Maximum RD's Hogan's Alley post and we believe it best to accept scores achieved from February 23rd (the date of the post) onward, as many are already playing and we want to include those scores. If you have been playing Hogan's Alley this week because of Maximum RD's post and have a documented score, you are welcome to submit it.

Welcome to our 37th Squad Challenge! Hogan's Alley is one of the earlier games for the Nintendo Entertainment System, and one of the few games prominently marketed for use with the Zapper! Hogan's Alley is hands-down one of my all-time favorite NES titles. Even when it was new, before I had an NES, I can very clearly remember looking at Hogan's Alley in the Sears Catalog and seeing the line up of those guys... and knowing that you didn't have to use a joystick, that you could actually shoot at them through the TV set with a light gun was just thrilling. Hogan's Alley was one of the things that started to lure me away from Atari in the earlier days of the NES. The simplicity and "shoot from the hip" appeal of Hogan's Alley leads to some very fun gameplay and can become quite addicting once you get into it! Hogan's Alley is a fast action, quick response game compared to our last Squad Challenge game Winter Games. Hogan's Alley also has that “early Nintendo feel” to the game. Enjoy!

I'll post pics later, but I managed to snag a text label copy of Indy 500 and two driving controllers from Disc Traders last night for 7 bucks! I've been looking for a set for 10 bucks or under, but the going rate on eBay seems to be 20 dollars or so. I had this game as a kid and I loved it! Very happy to have it back in my collection.

Also got a copy of Venture for Intellivision for 2 bucks!

    Edit: Pics as promised!

Starbuck66 got a reaction from Museum Matt in Anniversary of the release of the Legend of Zelda
I never had it as a kid, but I remember being mezmerized by that gold cartridge. I played it a few times at friends or cousins houses, but my main Zelda games I played as a kid were Link’s Awakening on the Game Boy and Link to the Past on the SNES.

When I first started collecting again 5 years ago I found I had a copy someone had given me in the early 2000’s. I had bought and been given some loose games and collected for a little while back then for my NES that I had retrieved from my parents when I moved out in 2000. I loaded it up and beat it, and I’m so glad I went back and played it. It still holds up well today, and I want to beat the second quest at some point.

We also played pass the controller style at Thanksgiving last year at my in-laws house on my daughter’s NES mini, and that was a blast! We only broke out walkthroughs if everyone was stumped, otherwise we played from memory or from collective strategy. Good times!

I’ll have to check my Intellivision collection tonight... I know there are a few I am missing overlays for.

If anyone has a spare Star Raiders 5200 overlay I’m still looking for one of those too
