  1. I think the situation at Argonaut wasn't unlikely to other developers in these days.
  2. yes, it's great and entertaining again. I am curious about Mario Bros.!
  3. I agree with you. In one special point you are absolutely right: absurd prices. 1000€ for a Jag CD is disgusting. But everyone on atari.io notice that you have a soft spot for the Jaguar and that dignifies you.
  4. Yes, that is the story of the 2600-versions. But the 7800-titles weren't produced by Coleco. They were made by Atari Corporation. I think, that's another breathtaking story on atari.io. @BTB: Now i have seen the new episode. Great stuff and your guests are very congenial. Btw. Are you a fan of Gary Numan? Your avatar follows the pleasure principle.
  5. Had Atari used its old A8 licence for their Nintendo-translations to the 7800? 1988 they had met in court and were definitely no friends at all.
  6. There are many tactical shooter on the Jaguar (Hoverstrike C + CD, Iron Soldier 1 and 2, Cybermorph, Battlemorph and (ok, not so shiny) Aircars), which outshine the late published I-War. But it has its unique qualities: The Tron appeal, the music, the tricky levels. Dear Lost Dragon. You certainly miss the Jaguar. The prices for Soft-and Hardware are rising. I would think about a purchase in an earnest way. Oh, i write like Jane Austen. "Dear Mr. Abercrombie..." Time to go to bed!
  7. Welcome to a great community united under the fuji-logo. Please share with all of us the fond memories of the old golden days.
  8. The Tempest cartridge for the 5200 was the main reason for me to buy the console. I have no regrets about it!
  9. Hooy, new stuff! I really enjoy your Reviews. I love your attitude, when you are talking about the games.
  10. Nevertheless is this a cozy alternate universe!
  11. That's really interesting. In many german forums you can find a subcategory of people, which have to bash everything. Give them a catchword, they will goof on: Nintendo Switch? Oh it will be a mess. I know that. PS4? Oh, don't talk any further, it sucks! I know that. Atari Jaguar? Oh, was a complete failure. I know that. I think, they live in a dark and cold hole, have never seen the sunlight, only eat and drink pizza, potatoe chips and cherry coke and do not believe in the existence of women. Is it possible, that they have digged tubes to UK and live now in british cellars and dungeons?
  12. The problem of Amiga/ST was the fact, that CBM and Atari haven't recognized the winds of change. As in 8Bit-times they haven't improved the hardware over the years or they hadn't done in in time. There was no need to improve the C64, so they thought the same for ST and Amiga. For example the Falcon was almost two years too late. CBM hadn't realized, that the Amiga was an Entertainment machine. They wanted a business machine. The A1000 was too expensive for the consumer-market and there was not enough software to be successfull in the business-sector. They saw no use or need to support software developers for office software. So these developers went to Apple and Mac. CBM also had financial problems in 1985/86. Not very auspicious for the introduction of a new machine. Both had underestimated the consoles as contenders. The C64GS and the Atari XEGS are good examples for that failure. Even the pre-Windows-PC was not really realized as a danger: "Our GUI-machines are much better than that DOS-CLI-fuss! Nuff' said!" Now they are older and wiser. The neckbreaking point for CBM was the Amiga 600, technically a real nonsense with the smell of mothballs. They produced a huge number of them. In favour of the A600 the development of other models was reduced. All done by Bill Sydnes, who was called the human bus error! CBM Germany wanted to sell 200 000 A600 in three months. Imagine that. Even in "Amigaland" Germany these were crazy numbers. And as mentioned above the Falcon was a late bird, but technically spoken brilliant. Same about Amiga 1200. The QL had had another problem. It was a UK-only machine. In Germany was little to read about that machine. Oh, there was a german version with black-red-gold-tricolour and QWERTZ-keyboard, but the written news weren't overwhelming, advertisement nonexistent. Imo even the european market as a whole was not enough to withstand the ST.
  13. Nice video and the sight of a lovely landscape in anchorman's background!
  14. Wizard of Wor needs to be hacked. It must be started as player two, so this should be changed.
  15. The Lynx is my favourite Handheld, despite the PSP, PSV, 3DS, DS, GBC, GB, GBA and all the others. These are my dearly beloved titles without precedence: Rygar Zaku Shanghai Klax Blue Lightning Checkered Flag I want to like Chips Challenge, but i can't. It is surely a great title, but i can't go with it. Sorry for that. Oh mess! There are also Xybots and Warbirds. It's really hard to appoint some favourites.
  16. Mine does crackle too. Furthermore the Battery low lamp doesn't work!
  17. Don't forget Gary Numan!! An Avatar says more than 1000 words.
  18. I like the music of Welle Erdball. They call the C64 a band member and have an own sound and aesthetic appeal. Here are some songs and appearences: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCNbnUXW9JA A live appearence. VERY good! A song called Deutsche Liebe Liebe der 3. Art Schweben, Fliegen, Fallen 1000 Engel Arbeit adelt
  19. That is the "ANYTHING GOES" of Atari! It was the promise of a better future. There was a glimpse of a better future, an utopic version of all that could be. Call me crazy, but that was my Atari. I grew up with Captain Future and the possibility to explore the universe and an utopic perspective. This may be childish, but i remember this from time to time and i feel good.
  20. I swear by Nolan, i love your reviews! Yesterday i have made a 3 hour marathon and was amazed. It was the pure fun. The weekend will be filled by many happy hours with my 2600. Gosh i'm geil*! *geil ['gail]: german word for randy, ruttish, prurient
