TeddyGermany got a reaction from Justin in 7800 Avenue
I agree with you about the Up-Jump function. But i think it works quite better with a Joypad than a Joystick.
And... Thank God. Both of you have the same problem with the difficulty of that game. I thought, i am too bad for that!

I'll be watching this later! 5200 is an incredible system! I just need to do some work on my controllers, the Trakball is very nice though.

TeddyGermany got a reaction from Rowsdower70 in Things Atari nailed.... and then screwed up.
Advertisement in the Tramiel era: In Germany they had made no or even few promotion on TV, mainly the ST Computers in the 80ies. The Lynx was only advertised in Atari-Magazines (!), the Jaguar was neither promoted. Only Mail order retailers had shown the cat in their catalogues. I have in mind, that Germany was a big market for Atari products. Did they really thought, there was no need for propaganda? Nintendo, Sega or even Commodore were omnipresent on TV in these days.

My best wishes!
But Southeast Texas is too far from my home! Maybe you think about Mail order!

TeddyGermany got a reaction from Lost Dragon in Atari ST, the misunderstood computer?
That was unthinkable in Germany. Here the ST was more a serious business machine or a creative tool in commercials and people's mind. The Amiga was the entertainer and gaming computer. Nevertheless Atarians were playing.

TeddyGermany got a reaction from Justin in Which 2600 model are you particularly fond of?
Atari was my first love, it will be my last.
Atari of the future, Atari of the past.
Suddenly John Miles comes to my mind. Could be a nice answer to that important question.

TeddyGermany got a reaction from MistaMaddog in How Atari box art turned 8-bit games into virtual wonderlands
That is the "ANYTHING GOES" of Atari!
It was the promise of a better future. There was a glimpse of a better future, an utopic version of all that could be.
Call me crazy, but that was my Atari. I grew up with Captain Future and the possibility to explore the universe and an utopic perspective. This may be childish, but i remember this from time to time and i feel good.

I don't remember you, but i guess you to slow down your speed and reduce working. A burnout is an evil disease. I know exactly, what i am talking about.

TeddyGermany reacted to Yo-Yo in "Coleco - The Complete History" hardback book coming June 2016
It's boring and not a single screen from a game on the cover or a picture of the console. Who came up with that? Let's hope the book is 100x better than the cover. You know what they say about judging a book by its cover.
