  1. Nice RICK ! Ramen is awesome. Sadly, this place was "OK" overall, we won't be going back, we have pretty extensive experience for travel over the years, living in TORONTO etc, so while we are not snobby or connoisseur's in the least we do have some standards to compare and often what passes as great here in small town KELOWNA it's only because many here simply don't know better, I suspect even residents here who have been to Vancouver would have a broader appreciation. But we like to try all the different places in a given area before deciding what goes on our list of "Places to return" we have a few on it for sure since we started going out every week. Good food quality and value for money though it's getting tougher these days it can still be found on occasion.
  2. Woke up today to look out the window and see this big surprise snowfall. Everything covered and it’s still coming down currently. Not that cold out just a lot of the white stuff.😲
  3. OK now it's on. Having lived my entire life in TORONTO ONTARIO up until moving here to B.C. 20 years ago KIDS IN THE HALL were a favorite. These characters always come to mind when I think KIDS IN THE HALL. Simple concept, that one guy who never comes through for you and yet, we keep falling for their word that they in fact will come through. This skit takes it to the limit 😎The original skit (there are some additional ones) called “The King of Empty Promises” with Dave Foley and Kevin McDonald. Of their most popular sketches and characters (Buddy Cole / Chicken Lady/ Crushing your head guy etc) for some reason, this skit always stuck with me, one because Kevin McDonalds character though clearly evil is quite calm and reserved, maddingly so, compared to many of his usual loud and maniacal characters. 😆Here are the two skits I remember, watch in order to see just how much of a sad sucker Foley's character is. The thing is, maybe it sticks in my mind because I can relate, as Foley's character 🤷‍♂️Obviously e is the victim in this equation but you just know part of his anger / disappointment is with himself for constantly falling for it. The Kids in the Hall: King of Empty Promises Follow up: Kids In The Hall: "The King of Empty Promises" -- In Jail!

  5. Nice video from Seb aka HalfBlindGamer -I do miss that era, that time when every company was scrambling basically to make the most of the incredible optical media format, of course you had PCs that could be expanded with cd drives and speakers and MPEG cards, etc., all these attempts to harnessing the power of multimedia was really interesting. Of course not everyone could afford a big high end, whizbang multi media PC and then you had the other end where people were playing games on their consoles. I guess it’s really not too surprising that some companies would attempt to create a platform that married the two or at least made an attempt to offer much of what the high-end multimedia offered while at the same time, letting you play a few games here and there. And really, when you consider some thing like the 3DO or the CD-i, they certainly stood out, to a lesser extent even commodores CDTV Did the same thing because you would get titles that were everything from Atlases to encyclopedia's and medical guides all with of course narration, some video, clips and pictures and then of course you could get some games with FMV it was all rather exciting. Of course today we just use our PCs or really let’s face it iPads, and all kinds of main stream devices that pretty much are powerful enough to do all of those things in glorious HD quality but I certainly have a nostalgic attachment to that time when it was all new and everyone was trying to come out with the next big hit that harness to the power of multimedia.

  7. Looks and sounds delicious! Man we enjoyed so many good Italian food restaurants back in Toronto, here, well let's say people here in Kelowna would not know real good Italian food sadly, we'd have to be visiting Vancouver or something maybe. Anyway good stuff! Thanks for sharing and I LOVE the outside sign!

Mint Tea sounds like it would hit the spot right now. I'm going to add that to my shopping list.

Watching video's, reading forums, wearing headphones and walking lightly and being extra quiet closing both doors to the adjoining bathroom as I go multiple times throughout the night / wee hours (yes, I said wee intentionally) so as not to disturb my sweet slumbering wife and, well that's about it really. 😝

  9. That's awesome Rick thanks for sharing and that would totally be me with the statue I do stuff like that all the time! My wife just laughs her head off, by the way y wife loves Bob's red Mill products! I will try to include a couple example! 😆 We think alike Rick! Back in 2014 I was much heavier before intermittent fasting and cutting out sugar but eh, still having fun!

    https://www.tmz.com/2023/01/18/actor-julian-sands-missing-hiker-california-mountain-baldy/

Julian Sands, a British actor best known for his roles in films like the 1985 drama “A Room With a View” and the 1989 horror entry “Warlock,” was reported missing at about 7:30 p.m. last Friday, Jan. 13. Sands had been hiking in the Baldy Bowl hiking area, approximately 50 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

According to a representative for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, ground crews responded and began searching the area soon after the 65-year-old Sands was reported missing. However, parties had to be pulled Saturday evening, after roughly 24 hours of searching, due to avalanche risks and trail conditions.

Sands is known to be an enthusiastic mountaineer. “I love climbing mountains, I’ve spent a lot of time in the Alps over the years, a lot of time in the Andes, Alaska and the American ranges,” Sands told ThriveGlobal in 2020.

  16. So sorry to hear this, my condolences, goddamn cancer, my mother went from that as well very rapidly after finding a black spot on her lung on x-rays, far too young. It’s a horrible thing.
  17. Been busy with other priorities but here is our first dining out in the new year! Checking out Hugo's Mexican kitchen today for lunch. Excellent "REAL" Mexican food, best street tacos since Mazatlán !
