  1. It IS the NES RF switch that is the issue. You see, by the time the NES came out (later the Snes / Genesis) the RF switcher was different in that merely turning on the system was enough to power and automatically switch over to the console output. The Colecovision and indeed consoles and several computers before that relied on a switchbox where selected between console / TV and these older machines don't put out quite enough to fully switch over so you tend to get that, snow and static interference. So the option is either get one of the old type of Pre-NES RF switcher OR as many do these days, a plain RF cable with an tiny adaptor at the end that plugs directly with no need to switch. That is what I use on my own Colecovision. Let me add you WILL get people that swear up and down the NES RF box is perfectly fine and they use it with no issues, they are either straight up lying OR remember wrong. To clarify keep the NES RF switcher / cord for most systems from NES onward, for Pre-NES (Colecovision / 8-bit computers / Atari 2600 etc) you need either THIS: RF cord plus Adaptor to TV input: !NOTE a standard composite cable will do if a true RF cable not available if using this adaptor. OR THIS ORIGINAL PACKED IN OPTION: RF cable (or quality AV composite cable) + proper old-style switchbox that fully switches between the two: OR THIS : I don't recommend this route though since it still requires an adaptor for the Antennae output to TV input and they won't all come with that if you buy it loose, a whole other can of worms. So really the most straightforward option is the first method, you can find these little adaptors easy on Ebay / Amazon searching " RF Adapter F Male Coax to RCA Female " that with either a proper RF cord OR a decent Composite cable will do as standalone RF cables are getting scarce. Example: https://www.amazon.ca/RFAdapter-Connector-Convertor-Commodore-Colecovision/dp/B07VWQF6WS/ref=asc_df_B07VWQF6WS/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459812522877&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7423408870647340250&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001468&hvtargid=pla-872226698298&psc=1 Lastly for those that prefer visual instruction, this little kid 8 years ago, nothing fancy but short enough video and he covers what is important clearly showing the steps, he even uses a composite cable many have with the 3 cords (video + 2 audio) obviously he uses only one as required but I think it's good to show what most people have but still solving the issue, near the end he does display the Colecovision Start screen if only for a couple seconds but I think you will agree overall a pretty damn good output anyone would be happy with using RF. 😉 😝If I seemed just a tad bitchy about those that insist the NES RF switcher is fine it's just because I hate that type of misinformation especially when people absolutely insist on it when I know form first hand experience this is not the case and I have had such people make this claim elsewhere when I am giving all this detail and the reasons why it is absolutely not adequate so I get a bit salty over it since Colecovision is hands down my favorite console Pre-NES and i want people to enjoy them to the fullest.

  3. My UGLY? but cool and special Super Nintendo Just sorting through the old collection looking for my Super Nintendo and I was reminded that it always amused me how my Super Nintendo console stood out, fortunately not just for the poor attempt at painting the shell but it has a couple mods to it that can be useful.
  4. 😎Just some musings on controllers, not selling or anything. These are my spares as I have only a single Colecovision console with the controllers connected, not sure I've tested all but good to have. Oddly I love the look more of the ADAM controllers for the color even though I don't have an ADAM they are also in the best condition. Also, if that like a ferrite magnet thing I am pointing to on the Adam controller cord? I've seen such things on various controllers and power adaptors over the years, what do they do? Is it for grounding purposes? Were they always on ADAM controllers? I've never seen them on any regular Colecovision controllers. Lastly, I have this Suncom controller for Colecovision, the cord is not in the greatest shape and it's pretty worn over all but I think it works last time I tested. They made a few of these type of touch controllers, it's not like a Intellivision Disc, I think it's just like a membrane over some circuity where just a slight touch registers movement, some people hate these type for any console however I don't find them too bad once you get use to them though they are not as accurate for 4 way movement for like say a maze game like mousetrap or Ladybug but they can be cool for game that require diagonal movement as well. I think it may be somewhat rare at least I never see them much.
  5. Well let's see what's up with that A.I. Anime generator....MOTHER OF GOD !
  6. Very cool. As far as FLASHBACKS I only have the original Flashback 2+. I was never interested in anymore once AtGames took over personally but I will say this seems pretty cool, also I was not aware that they had gotten so small, I mean that thing is tiny, I like it lol, have they all been this small since AtGames took over? Anyway, very cool.

  10. I appreciate the mention and vote here Rick and yes, I have dabbled with many Distros for years and even currently loving PopOS on my 2011 Macbook but, and this is why I didn't chime in earlier, I could not claim to know much beyond basics about using it for a daily driver of any sort. Meaning I don't really fit for the info Justin is inquiring about, I install a Distro on some old laptop or desktop hardware and because it is old or basic hardware it is with no intention of really using it for anything more than basic Web Browsing, no documents, spreadsheets or coding and honestly, though I used Thunderbird back in early days for my Email client I've not even dabbled with that since I gave in years ago and started using Web Based Emails in browser so even that I am rusty on, which is funny because back in the 2000's you could not force me to use Web Based ANYTHING let alone Emails. Pretty much Rick you have already given advice and contributed far better than I could, even things I am proud of doing like using Terminal to update a broken WiFi driver for the MacBook I tend to stumble through only after hours of frustration searching and researching until I find the answer and am successful after which I couldn't even give someone a clear instruction on how I managed it, 😆while I enjoy tinkering and can be stubborn to a fault until I am successful, my brain is always kind of in that moment and then it seems to just purge every step afterwards so I wouldn't even begin to know how to instruct someone else on my methods. Sorry I could not be of more help, I will keep an eye on the topic and contribute IF I think I can add something from this point on but I suspect you guys got it. 😎

Thanks much appreciated. I pulled this shirt out of a bottom drawer, not worn for years as I put it away when it was too...er, snug but now fits great again! I was so happy I had to take a pic 😃whatever other health issues at least I still been maintaining a slow but steady weight loss.

  13. This is better, making up for the last outing at the Japanese restaurant, here at Copper Brewing, more fun and better beer and food / snacks. 😎🍻🍺Copper Brewing Co.
  14. Of course with the relative visiting us this morning from Vancouver at 4 1/2 hour drive away we awoke to this scene. Was expecting snow but not quite this much needless to say he is going  to be somewhat delayed. 😬

  15. 😬My Windows VISTA in 2010 . Don't get me wrong, I love my wallpaper but my shortcuts YIKES😝and yes, I know it's nothing compared to some users but I can't stand too many these days. I definitely gravitated to a much cleaner looking desktop which show here to compare. Ahhhhh THAT'S BETTER
  16. Very nice Rick. Yeah it's always a struggle, more and more I TRY to enjoy the moment more instead of taking pictures. Even as a teen and young adult tough I always been about pictures and video. Thanks Rick!
  17. This weeks outing coincides with our Anniversary (10/27/2022) continuing celebrations of 21 years since we met and 19 years of marriage. 😎😁Dining in Peachland. Drove over the bridge and went to the nearby municipality of Peachland a beautiful tiny community by the lake and enjoyed an amazing meal Cibo & Vines Italian restaurant followed by a nice walk by the lake.
  18. We love the hatching post so much a couple weeks ago we’ve come back for dinner. fyi we didn’t eat all of this food. We took about half of it home.
  19. While I do not recognize the character or understand her history / issues with Picard a couple things I thought of interest at least from my perspective, I found her ship similar to the mining vessel that Nero commanded (Played by Eric Bana in JJ Abrams's Star Trek) no connection just an observation. Her character Vadic reminded me a little of Star Trek II's Kahn as far as her dialogue went, over the top, very hateful towards Picard and seemingly wanting him to suffer etc. Lastly she is played by Amanda Plummer daughter of Christopher Plummer who of course was the General Chang in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. So I can see why they would choose her to be the villain though I am not really sold on her characters look / style, I think they should have made her more "Alien" looking then an old lady with bad emo hair but we will see if her performance can get me past that 😏🤷‍♂️I honestly more intrigued about the return of LORE and of course Professor Moriarty the Holodeck version of the classic Sherlock Holmes that was just as brilliant as his written version becoming so self aware he was even able to take control of the Enterprise. Did Lore have something to do with bringing him back? To aid him in whatever nefarious plan he surely has? I've enjoyed Picard, not as much as I enjoyed the new Star Trek Strange New Worlds but I really thought oafter wrapping up the Q / Borg storyline I didn't think they could come up with anything that would excite me for this supposedly final Picard season but I admit the trailer did peak my interest.
