  1. I think I have this game for my A8. It was a groundbreaker, for sure. :O)
  2. My favorite sequel is probably Super Mario World. It looks better than the other first SMB games. :O)
  3. I guess it is more difficult to make an optical disc emulator (ODE) because of the RISC architecture of the Jaguar. That's for sure. I have not seen an update for Virtual Jaguar in years. I don't know if they are still updating it or not. Anyway, I hope they can study it more closely and create a better emulator for it.
  4. Well, physically speaking, the stock MSTE has a VME bus for a graphics card, but only if the card is VME-compatible. I think the MSTE has a faster CPU and it has Blitter. Plus, it has an internal HDD. But, I don't know all the specifications for it off-hand.
  5. Thanks. I will look into it, and welcome to the forum. :O)
  6. Now that you mention it, it does. I think they called it that because you can link them together, and the name logo shows it all. The X in Lynx is like two lines twisted together. Plus, with ComLynx cables, you can link up to eight of them together in a network, depending on the game. :O)
  7. Epyx did. It was originally the size of a room, from what I understand. Epyx squeezed it into a handheld. That's why the name "Handy" is attributed to the Lynx. It was the code name for the Lynx project.
  8. Yeah! That's him. Ronald Gerald Wayne. I just looked him up on Wikipedia. :O)
  9. I thought MAD was discontinued. Interesting. It's a great magazine. I also have a bunch of Atari magazines in my collection from the 1980s and 1990s. Analog, Atari ST User, and Atari Explorer, to name a few. Some Antic issues as well. I still page through a few of them, from time to time anyway.
  10. I used to read the following: Macworld Mac Life (formerly MacAddict) Animation Magazine I wouldn't mind subscribing to these publications, but it is expensive to me. Over the years, I have been quite frugal. So, I watch my money like a hawk.
  11. It's a definite revamp on the vector graphics in the 1979 version of Asteroids. I like it, too. :O)
  12. Interesting. Kind of like the situation with the third founder of Apple Computer. I forget that guy's name.
  13. An accurate statement, since Bushnell co-founded Atari with Ted Dabney. Bushnell had has faults, but you must give credit where credit is due.
  14. It is. I once had it. It got stolen by somebody. Bummer.
  15. Vince Guaraldi was a eminent musician. I like the jazz overtones in his music for Peanuts. It's simple, yet easy-going and mellow. He is a legend, for sure. :O)
  16. I was singing the praises of Jaguar when it came out, and I was disappointed when it failed myself. It's too bad, really. It could have done very well. It had the horsepower and the technology. It was grossly (and I mean grossly) under-marketed and underdeveloped. What a shame!
  17. So right on! Plus, you would need to experiment to get those games better on that amazing hardware.
  18. I have a couple of these as well. I don't have them on-hand at the moment, though, but I have the Atari Stars poster, and one of the red Atari catalogs on the bottom of the picture. I also have a couple of Atari Advantage posters in my collection.
  19. I don't give credence to the kind of crap Jack Tramiel is guilty of. So, no justifications for him. If it sounded that way, that was not my intention at all. So, no worries there.
  20. No excuses here, either. He was the guiding force that destroyed Atari. He was mean, uncouth, and despotic. Understood. Thanks for letting me share.
  21. Sure, he was a horrible businessman. But, did you know he was also a survivor of Auschwitz, a concentration camp in Poland during World War II? It's true. Some of his family members were killed there. I am sure it was traumatic for him. But, differences aside, he still could have done better with Commodore and Atari. He destroyed Atari. Well, he's gone now. There's no longer anything anybody can do about it. Sad legacy.
  22. If I remember correctly, it was software for my Power Mac G4 at the time. I got Adobe Premiere, but it was only an older upgrade version. It didn't help anyway.
  23. By the way, welcome to the forums, Jas. I think you will like it here. :O)
  24. Got another question: Has anyone ever tried to make an optical disc emulator for the Jaguar CD player besides the JagGD cartridge? That would be interesting. I know they are for the Dreamcast and the GameCube. If not, I can see why it would be complicated because of the way Jaguar CD software is created. Thanks. :O)
