AtariSphinx reacted to HDN in NSG's January 2021 Giveaway!
I’m hoping to build up my NES collection for my retro New Year’s resolution. Thanks for the giveaway as always, @nosweargamer.
As for my normal resolution, well... there is somebody. I hope to gain the courage to ask her out this year, virus permitting. Don’t tell anybody, though.

Harry, I cannot imagine you lacking courage. But I'm sure the virus makes things much more challenging.

My retro resolution for 2021:
Retro gaming --> acquire a Vectrex, GameBoy Advance, and a Lynx II. I already accomplished, rather unexpectedly and suddenly, the first two.
Retro living --> watch in order Star Trek original series and Star Trek TNG. I'm currently watching S1E10 of ST OS.

Retro resolution is to continue working on retro papercraft model of famous vintage computers. See rockybergen.com/papercraft for some examples!

That's amazing stuff, Rocky! While I do not plan to re-acquire a 520ST although I had one back in the day, I wouldn't mind putting this paper model together for the shelf. I don't suppose you have any intentions of selling prints?

Congrats @AtariSphinx, your goal to get more Atari 2600 games has won you a Qbert mini arcade! You have one week to send me your address through the messenger here or risk losing your treasure to another desert falcon!

AtariSphinx got a reaction from socrates63 in Squad Challenge - Q*bert (Atari 2600)
Q*bert (A/A): 58,600
Improvement. Really good port but frustrating when coily reaches near the top of pyramid and when you jump on the disk he waits for you at the top cube to hit you.

I plan on continuing to build up my 2600 collection as I have the most fun with this console. Recently got into the SNES which has been a blast to play.

AtariSphinx reacted to Marco1019 in Question(s) regarding 2600 Pole Position
I should have clarified that the 63,260 run was shared on TG, but not submitted. Nads learned of the video because he subscribes to LightBlue2222's YouTube channel. I apologize for any confusion in that regard. In addition, no one has called a LightBlue a cheater; he showed the cartridge and game system in the video so he didn't really hide anything.
There's a TG thread with @ZilchSr, Scott Stilphen, and Nads. The belief is that the cartridge was hacked prior to purchase (I believe LightBlue stated he bought it off eBay for $5) or the 2600 system he used was hacked/modified.
ZilchSr ran tests on a few different ROMs and posted here: https://www.twingalaxies.com/garrett-holland/wall/9000/atari-2600-pole-position-tas-and-analysis-fastest-time-possible-212-seconds
It's an interesting confluence of events given the timing.

AtariSphinx reacted to EEP! in Squad Challenge - Q*bert (Atari 2600)
I'll try this one. It'll be my first "High Score Squad" entry ever. I play Q*bert holding the controller traditionally. I tried the diamond hold and I hated it. When I was young I wrapped all the levels on B difficulty. I don't think I am remotely good like that anymore.
