  1. I currently have the 2600 list published here, although I need to update it in the near future, probably when I finish reviewing paddle games this month: I plan to publish other lists as the get bigger as well.
  2. As the unbiased host of the Atari 7800 Game By Game Podcast, I must say YES! A few years ago, I gathered votes from several places to determine the best Atari 7800 games. Here was the results: If you do get one, I highly recommend that you get the Edladdin Seagull 78 adapter. It allows you to use any Sega Genesis controller with 2 button 7800 games.
  3. Welcome @socrates63! That some cool Atari history you got!
  4. Well, as some of y'all know, I keep an ongoing ranking of the 2600 games I review. After 230+ games, here's my current top ten: 1) Adventure 2) Pitfall! 3) Yars' Revenge 4) Ice Hockey 5) Haunted House 6) Ms. Pac-Man 7) River Raid 8 ) Dig Dug 9) Demon Attack 10) Space Invaders
  5. I was big into EGM, but I also subscribed to Sega Force, which became a Gamepro subscription when Sega stopped Sega Force. However, I did buy this issue of VG&CE at my local supermarket (Farmer Jacks, for you MI folk)
  6. Please try to control your excitement, but I recently bought some boxes of Bazooka Joe gum, and have decided to include a piece in the prize pack to go along with the card pack. It still tastes great (for about 30 seconds, before it loses it's flavor), is even softer than I remember it being and comes with a mini comic! Also, welcome to everyone who recently joined this great forum site. Feel free to browse the site and introduce yourself here: https://forums.atari.io/forum/59-introduce-yourself/
  7. I remember the hype. Perhaps too much hype. And yes, the monster was too different from how we all pictured Godzilla. I remember my buds and I renting Godzilla 2000 not too long after. It was like Japan said "We're sorry for that design. Here's a palette cleanser." Still, it's a good popcorn flick. I wonder how the US would've reacted if it was the same movie, with the Godzilla from 2000 swapped out for the monster. (Or a CGI rendition of 2000)
  8. So recently I did a video on my Dactar 4-in-1 cartridge: They actually made several of these, potentially with themes in mind. Mine for instance contains games that all start with S, and two sea based games. I've seen others that just have sport titles. Of course, these aren't official, but apparently the laws in Brazil were very lax on copyright protection. And bonus points to RickR for pointing out the MONTER typo. I also later noticed that RACER should have an S at the end. I like the mini boxes they came in. Below is a white, but I think they also made black. The boxes remind me of a blank Polaroid VHS tapes. I also noticed 4 in 1 carts made by other foreign companies as well. So, anyone else have any of these or memories of these?
  9. I'm a believer in the more voices the better! My favorite magazine was EGM, partly because each game was reviewed by 4 different people. So if you want to do a video review, go for it!
  10. I didn't even notice that and I just made a video I will be posting later about the cart, lol.
  11. Naturally I'm not entering, but here's the last Atari 2600 cartridge I played before making this video.
  12. I decided to do another giveaway right here on the forums! This giveaway contains three Activision games for the Atari 2600 and an NSG Card Pack! GIVEAWAY RULES Must have a US Address. Not responsible for lost or damaged mail. Must reply to this post by telling me the name of the last, physical Atari 2600 cartridge you played by Monday, August 17th 2020 @ 11:59 pm est. One entry per person. After the winner is selected at random and announced on this thread, they will have three days to give me their US address through the forum messenger. If they don't respond in time, I can select another winner. Watch this video for more details:
  13. Yeah the controls are weird. You have to hit up twice to accelerate. And the specials are strange too. I cued up my review where I start talking about some of the controls. Still, a cool find for $4
  14. My wife and I recently finished the series. I didn't keep a list of favorite episodes, but generally speaking I enjoyed anything with the Borg or Q. I also thought the the finale was extremely well done, as was The Inner Light. My wife might include the episode where Yar dies, simply because she was happy to see her go. 😄 (Funny story: I once bought a Star Trek comic book at a yards sale, and a autographed picture from the actress who plays here was inside 😲) As for the worse, some of the early episodes were rough, but so were some of the last. I guess they were running out of ideas. One that stuck out was Journey's End, which brought Wesley back and ended up being my least favorite episode with him (and honestly, I didn't mind him as much as some do)
  15. Atari Paddle Games Month continues with a rare game in Ep 638: Guardian
  16. Today I look at the MAGNETARGET Tomy Pocket Game from 1980.
  17. That's awesome! I would like to get a tape deck for my 800xl, but I hear a lot of older tape decks in general no longer work as the rubber bands inside have either broke or melted. Back in Junior High & High School, I tool several years of French, mostly because I heard it a lot on TV, living near the Canadian border. I can't remember much, since I rarely used it much after High School, but I do remember some words and phrases like "The frog is green" & "I would like a Coke". Honestly I wish I would've chosen to take Spanish instead, as it seems more useful to know as a second language in the US.
  18. Atari 2600 Paddle Games Month continues with Ep 636: Breakout!
  19. All this month I plan to review Atari 2600 Paddle Games on my YouTube Channel. My hope to to review at least ten of them! It all starts with Night Driver!

    1. Justin

      Justin

Looking forward to it @nosweargamer‼️ I just got a new set of paddles in the mail over the weekend, I'm looking forward to pulling out some of these games and giving them a try!

  20. Atari 2600 Paddle Games Month begins with Ep 635: Night Driver!
  21. After reviewing the other three, I look at the final of the four Tiger Handheld Game re-releases: Sonic 3.
  22. Very cool. Star Fox is one of those games I'd play on demo kiosks in stores while my mom was shopping in other departments. I wish I had time to find my copy, hook up the SNES and take part, but I'm super busy on my channel this month. I'm celebrating Atari 2600 Paddle games and am trying to review as many of them as possible before the month ends. Good luck to all who take part!
