  1. It's easy to be a Kung Fu Master when the henchmen are so incompetent.

My equally immature friends and I used to kneel down and let the train of dudes hug Thomas from the front. Use your imagination.

  2. Do you have friends that drive? Or maybe it's close enough that you could walk and take a hand truck.
  3. One easy thing you can try: It may be dust in the set causing a short. Without taking the set apart, get a vacuum cleaner and run the hose end over all of the cooling slots on the back, sides, top, bottom. If you have a compressor, blow air in first to loosen dust and then vacuum. I would not take the back off -- there be HIGH voltage inside there.
  4. That's a strange one. It's most likely a power issue inside the TV. It probably is fixable. But I think your best bet is to scan Craigslist or Facebook marketplace for another set. Most people are giving them away for free.

  6. Looks good! You are owning that space. I think it's extra cool that your 02 came in the original box.
  7. I found this ebay auction for an acoustic coupler modem..and it's for the TI 99/4A! How cool. https://www.ebay.com/itm/EXTRA-RARE-MINT-TEXAS-INSTRUMENTS-TELEPHONE-COUPLER-ACOUSTIC-MODEM-PHP-1600/265119482215?hash=item3dba5a4167:g:FZ0AAOSwsgZgchPf
  8. I'm experimenting with cheap usb gamepads on the c64 Mini. The work great and are a huge improvement over the stock stick.

  9. My results today. All curved lower than the results I posed in 2019. It's safe to say Moore's Law is dead, as I have no desire to upgrade anything. The only thing that's changed in my system is a larger data HDD. UserBenchmarks: Game 37%, Desk 93%, Work 32% CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K - 90.6% GPU: AMD R9 285 - 34% SSD: Intel 600p Series NVMe PCIe M.2 512GB - 121.9% HDD: HGST Deskstar NAS 4TB - 89.6% RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR4 2400 C12 4x8GB - 73.9% MBD: Asus STRIX H270F GAMING
  10. It appears benchmark results really depend on what else is running on the system. It may help to look at task manager before running the test and make sure CPU usage is hovering near 0%.

That is awesome. I'm going to try that game out. I think this shows clearly how much more power (sound and graphics) the next gen systems had over the C64. Because a C64 couldn't do that level of character detail.
  12. I think it's "Space Battle", and it depicts Lorne Green donning a space suit to fix the flux capacitor on the Battlestar Galactica.
  13. Atari 2600. This one looks hard, but it should be easy if you've been paying attention on the forums.
