  1. Here we go. I got a used GPU from ebay that's a few steps above my old one. It was inexpensive, about $35 shipped. Pretty good bang for the buck for an old cheapo such as myself. UserBenchmarks: Game 51%, Desk 93%, Work 58% CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K - 93% GPU: AMD R9 285 - 45.7% SSD: Intel 600p Series NVMe PCIe M.2 512GB - 125.8% HDD: WD Green 1TB (2009) - 50.4% RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR4 2400 C12 4x8GB - 75.9% MBD: Asus STRIX H270F GAMING

That's the real deal btw, not photoshop. I've seen this in person. There's also a yellow one that another owner had created, I remember first seeing it in 1998 I believe. Not a big fan of chopping the cars up but they are are unique.

  3. 105,500. This is an awesome game! It's one of those "I just have to see what's next" type of games. Different weapons, different enemies. Just pure old-school fun.
  4. I finally have some free time tonight. I'm going to give this a try on real hardware. I've never played it before either. Looks like fun.
  5. Yeah man, that complete set is really cool. PS - I still haven't found my Laser Blast patch
  6. I will also say that upgrading to a new PC was a lot less painful that I thought it would be. I keep all my "data" on the D : drive (HDD) (pictures, music, etc). So my weekly backup of of the D drive and "My Documents" covered my 99%. Once I restored those, it just took a little time to re-install programs. The only issue I ran into is that I can't find my Office 2013 license key. So I'm just going to go with free OpenOffice instead. And it also reminded me of the humorous quote that's so true -- that the only purpose for Microsoft Edge is to download Chrome or Firefox.
  7. It is possible that they "change the curve" so that the newest PC's don't exceed 100% on the main 3 values. That probably explains why your CPU went down a little.
  8. What? No, man. I think you're computer is fine. It looks like a nice balance of gaming performance. Moore's Law died several years ago. The only reason I upgraded is that my old PC was overheating, and nothing I tried could fix it. New thermal paste, new heatsink/fan. I upgraded very reluctantly. I kept my old video card because I have no problems running the games I play with it. Saved a few bucks that way.
  9. Updated results after adding an old video card: UserBenchmarks: Game 37%, Desk 92%, Work 57% CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K - 91.2% GPU: Nvidia GTX 660 - 29.4% SSD: Intel 600p Series NVMe PCIe M.2 512GB - 130.9% HDD: WD Green 1TB (2009) - 52.3% RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR4 2400 C12 4x8GB - 76.1% MBD: Asus STRIX H270F GAMING
  10. I just got a new desktop! Here are my results before adding a video card (using Intel integrated right now): UserBenchmarks: Game 20%, Desk 87%, Work 54% CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K - 88.8% GPU: Intel HD 630 (Desktop Kaby Lake) - 10% SSD: Intel 600p Series NVMe PCIe M.2 512GB - 118.3% HDD: WD Green 1TB (2009) - 54.6% RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR4 2400 C12 4x8GB - 75.9% MBD: Asus STRIX H270F GAMING
  11. Here is the stuff I added to the box. Dang it, I meant to take that N64 wrestling game! Oh well, maybe next time. Thanks everyone.
  12. That's what I said when you posted your score....NOOOOOOO! Two old farts battling it out. I love it.
  13. What I've noticed by using the automated ordering kiosks is that you can buy a toy all by itself for $2. Seems like a great deal if you don't want the food.
  14. I use the "MESS" emulator. The interface I use is called "MESSUI64".
  15. This is my strategy for the whole game. Shoot em mid air only. The score racks up pretty quickly. But it gets really hard when that stupid dash starts flying around at full speed.
  16. I'm playing on a 2600jr with a Harmony cart, and the joystick has been modified to use microswitches.
  17. 161572 When those quotile's start curving -- it was all over quickly for me.
  18. "Forbidden Planet" is on MeTV this evening (7/27)!

  19. You guys, don't forget to help out Atari Creep in his cause for the Alzheimer's Association.  Donate if you can!  Plus, there's a contest for a sweet 7800 controller.

  20. That is the absolute WORST Indy look-a-like in the yellow bubble! Is that even a leather coat? LOL.
  21. Roadblasters, Indy TOD, and Marble Madness are all classics. I've never heard of Peter Packrat. Maybe I should look that one up on MAME! I remember whipping those Thugee guards (Indy) in college late at night after studies were done. Our student center had Indy, and we gave it a pretty good workout.
  22. Oh man, that's a tough call. Before you decide, let it cool down overnight. Unplug it, turn it on, then off. It is possible that once all the capacitors are discharged, it may fire back up. Summer heat may have caused the shutdown. That thing is pretty cool. Definitely worth keeping, but that's just my opinion. On the other hand, you might spend a day or two looking at Facebook marketplace. That's where I found two really nice sets over the last couple of months. Good luck. Start another thread if you feel like it. I'd like to see how this turns out.
  23. I'd love those posters, they look cool. I'll defer to anyone else that wants them though.
  24. I'm using this old USB controller with an emulator. I mapped joystick 1 to the left analog stick, and joystick 2 to the right one.
