  1. Great price! But I always imagine this end-result for me and a drone. Or having it end up on the roof like a frisbee.
  2. My sincere guess is that it will just get the one bid. It is super duper cool for sure. But very obscure except to the most serious of collectors. Imagine what something like an original Atari box-art painting would bring.
  3. Very similar weather for Portland too. It has high 50's, no wind, no rain, no clouds. A gift from above for late October.
  4. This is really nice, but please tell us more. Are you a Thai teacher? Or maybe you have ancestry or a family member from Thailand? Perhaps you plan to visit or move there? Congrats on completing the training.
  5. Here is the art in question, in case the ebay listing goes away. It's the original artwork used in an Electronic Games magazine. Very cool indeed.
  6. Our street was sad for trick or treating! Almost every porch light was off(including ours). Not a lot of kids out. I think times are changing. Thinking more about it, my kids were a lot like @socrates63 mentioned. They went trick or treating when really little (and more under parental influence) but weren't really interested once they got older (maybe 3rd grade and on). Candy didn't hold much interest for them and it still doesn't. On the positive side, a LOT of houses have decorations and some pretty elaborate displays! So it is quite fun just to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. My porch lights are on an automated timer, so I made sure I was at the switch ready to turn them off them second they turned on automatically! 🙂 I didn't want any kids to get false hope. My movie choice of the night was "Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse" (the second Sony animated version). Not bad!
  7. BOOM! Exactly. Frankly, if you like the old version, emulate and play the old version. I personally feel that the updated games on VCS, when done with quality and care, have been outstanding. Gravitar Recharged is a good comparison for this Lunar Lander update. The new Gravitar is a lot of fun, and I've spent a ton of happy time on it.
  8. Oh come on. Anyone who signed up for the Atarian club and got those items...guess what? The collection would be worth quite a bit today due to rarity. Don't believe me? Go look up the wallet that came with Atari "Superman". A complete boxed Superman (with wallet) is worth well over $100 today.
  9. Yes, they had re-releases, and they were done pretty well! The biggest improvements were the move to AA batteries (instead of 9V) and a volume switch.
  10. Or how about California Games, which looks great, but has some outstanding music.
  11. Centipede is pretty great! But don't overlook this underrated gem.
  12. I'll have to remember and try this. A M.U.L.E. ringtone would be really cool. Or the Bruce Lee theme. Or the Rescue on Fractalus theme. Once you open the door, my mind can think of 100 things to record that way.
  13. Halloween movie suggestions! I think a lot of us have seen all the classics many, many times. Universal had the best monster movies. I can suggest a few that you may not have seen that I really enjoyed: The Uninvited - This one is really well done. Kind of a mystery story, but also really spooky. The ghost effect here is really chilling! A Ghost Story - This one is more of a Twilight Zone story. It's quiet and thought provoking. Skip the pie-eating scene though. It's 10 minutes long and almost ruins the whole movie (by being so boring).
  14. Halloween plans here are pretty quiet. Our kids are grown. I feel like we did our duty back then. We tend to stay home, dim the lights, and watch TV. I know, it's pretty grinchy! The good news is we're kind of cracking a bit, and I imagine we'll get back into the spirit and hand out candy next year. BEFORE Halloween, though, we tend to go out in the neighborhood at dusk and view all the displays. I have a friend in the neighborhood that goes all out. He actually makes his house look like an old pirate ship with a skeleton crew. It's pretty amazing, and I'll try to get some pictures.
  15. Ten for me: Adventure Asteroids Yars' Revenge Missile Command Berzerk River Raid Indy 500 Warlords Circus Atari Space Invaders
  16. For me, Asteroids was that one game that blew my mind back in the early 80's. I don't think anyone expected such a great version of the game on the 2600. 64 versions to explore and have fun with too.
  17. I agree. And 8-bit computer compatibility too as Justin stated. People may think the target audience isn't large enough, but I don't think that's correct. If it is done right -- a high quality product that has good working controls, people will flock to it. Because it would be unique. Not just another 2600 compilation, of which we've had dozens of products. If done right, people may finally realize the 5200 was a lot better than it gets credit for.
  18. Plus it's fun to try different versions. I think we've done TG16 R-Type before. The SMS version holds up remarkably well. Great game and choice.
  19. I thought for a moment "don't post that picture, it's not interesting" but now I'm glad I did 🙂
  20. My wife and I went out to an old-school BBQ place this evening. Now, there are tons of fancy bbq places to choose from, but this one, even with it's old dankness, has the very best brisket in town. Melts in your mouth good. Definitely not fancy, but outstanding food. Plus, those cactus lights always look like they are flipping me off, which I appreciate.
  21. Oh man, I'm so pumped to have found a BOXED Mattel Electronics Basketball WITH the instructions and foam inserts. Also pictured is the boxed Football 2 I already had in my collection, but that one has no instructions or foam. I have a lot of these old handheld games, but these are two of my favorites as I had these ones as a kid back in the 70's.
  22. Happiest anniversary to you both. Cheers to many more years of happiness together!
  23. Are you selling printed copies @Sabertooth? I'm happy to pay printing and shipping costs.
  24. The Atari Gamestation has several 5200 games on it, and more can be added via SD card: https://www.myarcadegaming.com/products/atari-gamestation-pro
