  1. Here's what I have left: My orig boxed 4 switch woody A Vader with composite mod A Sunnyvale light-sixer The Jr pictured above. I've sold off (or given away) all of the others. I'm sure a lot of us are the same...we have too many 2600's. But so what? It's a harmless thing to collect.
  2. Just to add a bit to my response... The reason I use the Jr. the most is because of it's compact size, given limited space in my "gaming credenza". I do prefer the look of the classic VCS/2600 more, but it is a lot bigger. The 2600jr has all the same functionality and it even has an improvement with the power LED. And the composite out looks great.
  3. I played all the way through level 1 and made it to the exit without any errors. And had a lot of fun doing it.
  4. Here is my Jr, which I use as my daily-driver 2600. It has a composite mod.
  5. And thanks for mentioning Q2-RTX. I forgot about that. I just tried it and it works just fine for me. How interesting, I was just playing Q2 on my "retro PC" laptop. Like Portal, this one is a very nice graphical update to an old favorite.
  6. I'll see about getting some screen captures later as time permits. I also see the command to see FPS. I haven't changed the default settings. And I already had the newest driver. I agree that it doesn't seem like too big a deal on this game. But since this is one of my favorites, it sure is nice to go back and play again.
  7. Agreed. However, DOSBox does an amazing job of sorting this all out. It works great. On a machine like this, there is no option to use expansion cards, so DOSBox is a savior.
  8. I think it could do 2GB DDR memory (2 * 1GB sticks), but I don't have those). The integrated graphics in this machine is an NVidia Geforce 4 MX 440 and it runs Quake and Quake 2 pretty well!
  9. It seems like a good title I guess, although I have no idea what it means. I will watch and keep my fingers crossed that it's good. I hope they bring back Short Round!
  10. Although I think you need to already own Portal. It's on Steam, and it is a huge graphical upgrade *if* your system has the horsepower to run it. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2012840/Portal_with_RTX/ This is one of my all-time favorite games, and of course I had to try this. On my system (Intel core i7-7 series + GeForce 3060TI), it works well and looks great. Maybe a bit choppy, but totally playable. I don't know how to show frames-per-second. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you!
  11. I tend to listen in my car. However, I don't have Android Auto in my auto, and fiddling with the phone directly while driving is a no-no. I guess I'll just have to buy a new car :) I've been on the fence about upgrading my car head unit to something more modern with Android Auto and bluetooth. But it's really tough because the harness required to hook up the factory subwoofer and steering controls costs more than the new head unit would! Plus, the car is old and I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep it. It's a 2010. I'll figure something else out. I can't listen while working as I tend to not really hear the podcast because I'm focused on work.
  12. This is awesome. I appreciate you sharing this. Old-school question: I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but is there any way to download these (for example to put on an MP3 player)?
  13. That place looks awesome. Believe it or not, that's the kind of place you find throughout Portland. Quirky, themed, and some really good food and suds.
  14. What do you use to get all the extra flux off the board?
  15. I enjoyed many of them, but I think the one that stands out the most was the Neo-Geo Golf. This was Nancy's report.
  16. Wild. I also hope they catch the responsible parties. Sheesh, what could you even do with that stolen stuff? Seems like it would be easy to track down the culprits if they try to sell them.
  17. Great to know. This is an excellent review and recommendation.
  18. That is called an electrical choke. It's essentially a couple of magnets in that cylindrical shape. The purpose is to minimize interference. My best guess would be that the Adam computer was very sensitive to electrical interference, even from those low power controllers.
  19. I don't know, but I just discovered Plex and it's pretty nice to have on the VCS. Lots of free content to watch plus the ability to add all your own videos, photos, and music.
  20. Much appreciated. It is nice to know I'm not missing something obvious. I have mine plugged in to a "eco" power strip, controlled by the TV. So when the TV is powered down, all the other plugs power off too after 30 seconds. So that means "sleep mode" wouldn't be a good choice for me anyway.
  21. I have another RickR (ie - dumb) question! Is there a way to turn the console on from the controller? Or is the only way to reach around back and hit that power button?
  22. And PS - I finally purchased BPM Boy and it's great, but also fun to hear my friend Pat.
