The horror. I hit 550,000 with the first ball. Thought I could take a break, filled the wife's car with Freon and found out my game was ended.

So I finally did it! I got the bumper values to 9 and hit the top three targets afterward...twice! And you know what happens???? Nothing. Well, the screen flashes and you hear neat sounds, but the bumpers stay at 9 and don't increase in value. Oh well. At lease it helped me pass 500K!

So a few months ago my dad told me he was thinking about selling one of his basses that he has because he never plays it. I told him I was interested in it because I thought I would be awesome to have a bass that he owned. And the price he thought about selling it for was a pretty good deal.

He had heard that that the new Call of Duty was set in the World War II era and he was pretty big on the Call of Duty franchise when there was set in the world war era for the first few games. So he really wanted to play it.

I had recently picked up a PS4 Pro and I had a launch model PS4 so the launch model was extra. I had asked him earlier if he was interested in it and he said he was. When I asked him about the bass when I heard he was going to get rid of it he asked if I would do a straight trade for it. I totally jumped on it and said yes

That's the bass I got. My dad's favorite band is the Beatles and his favorite bass players is Paul McCartney. He thought he'd play it a lot more than he did but he went back to his Fender Jazz basses and he recently picked up this sweet Music Man Stingray bass. That music Man instantly became his go to bass.

I traded him for a PS4 with all the connections a controller and a small stack of games. One of them was the Call of Duty World War 2 game.

It's awesome to know that I actually own something that used to belong to him. While he probably got the better end of the deal, I really don't care. I'm totally going to cherish this bass.

I finally got a cheapo case (from a Chinese eBay seller).  It's pretty nice.  A perfect fit.

I also took the time to install and run a "scraper", which adds a picture/video/info about each game on the menu.

Next up is to clean up the ROM's I've got on here, as many of them do not work.  Especially MAME.  I'm guessing there are fully-vetted ROM collections for RetroPi out there, but I haven't really looked.

All in all, it's an awesome setup.  HDMI output on a device that's the size of a deck of cards.  Thousands of games.  Very worthwhile IMO.

Get out your "duplicate" games box...it's time to clean up for spring.  List what you've got here, and set up trades with other members via PM.

    Some very simple rules:
Keep it simple!  1 for 1, 2, for 2, etc. trades.  Some games may be worth more -- just keep it simple and fair.  Remember, the goal is to get rid of your dupes for something you don't have.  Trades are preferred, but sales are fine too if you see something you want, but don't have a trade item.  It's fine to ask for pictures in PM.  No need to get fancy in this thread though.  Make a list, take a pic...whatever is easiest for you. Have fun, be cool.

Glad I waited to post because I got a deal last Saturday and this Saturday. I found the Coleco Telstar Ranger and the Pac Man PNP at a garage sale for, get this, 5 for the Telstar and 1 dollar for the Pac Man! Granted if you scroll further down the bottom of the Coleco box has some water damage, but overall its in pretty good shape. It doesn't have the extension cables for the paddles and I was unable to get the gun to work, but I have a flat screen CRT, so not sure if that's causing an issue with the gun?

BTW if anyone is interested in a trade or some cash for the Telstar just let me know... I really only bought it because it was such a good deal and I wanted it to go to a good home and not the dump.

I also got some games at Disc Traders today, and the best deal was Sub Scan for 2 dollars! And I couldn't believe how MINT this label is! Heck looking at the contacts on the cart it looks brand new!

Built one of these for a buddy for Christmas and he loves it! It will play everything up to about Playstation level, but I only loaded it up with 16 bit systems and lower, plus a bunch of MAME games that I verified worked properly.

Thinking about getting one for myself at some point, but I really want it for the MAME games, and I've been wanting to build a full fledged MAME arcade cabinet at some point, so I'm holding off for now.

I found a couple of interesting things today:

    - A TMNT plug and play
    - A third-party N64 controller.  Feels pretty good; an interesting design.

    Fantastic!  Nice non-yellowed case too.

The good news is that SNES controllers are plentiful.  I see them at the Goodwill's here all the time.  I'll see about getting an extra for future trade considerations

I use a Retron 3 to play SNES cartridges (as a space saver -- three consoles in one).  For whatever reason, I have a lot of trouble with SNES games -- they always need to be cleaned before they work, no matter how well I clean them.  Not the case with Genesis or NES games....just SNES.

While I had it all apart I figured I might as well find a way to test the motherboard. If there were any faults I would be able to look at the board without having to take the thing apart again. But I needed a power source. 10 Volts at 850 mA according to the label on the bottom but everything I had available would not fit the jack even with it being in its current condition.

The solution? I have a spare 2600 motherboard and AC Adapter I use for testing games before I use those on the restored 4-switch in my collection. The only thing I didn't want to do was remove the power jack from the 2600 motherboard. So I grabbed the board and found some wire of which I ended up using a cable designed for connecting the audio outs of a computer CD-ROM drive to a PC motherboard. I then soldered the wires between the 2600 and the SUPER NES motherboards paying careful attention to polarity.

After making the connection I plugged in the AC Adapter in the 2600 power jack. I also made sure the 2600 was off. Without inserting a cartridge I powered on the Super NES and got a power light. That was promising in itself.

I grabbed the only game I have thanks to RickR. I inserted the game and turned the Super NES back on. Black screen. I turned the power off and on again. This time I got a bunch of weird graphic garbage on the screen with my immediate thought being the fact it doesn't work and that's why it was left behind. As a last resort I remembered I didn't clean the contacts on the cartridge when I got it (which I always do with any games I add to my collection for my own piece of mind). So I cleaned them and tried again.

BINGO! IT's ALIVE!! But it's now tormenting me. I got a working Super NES with no way of actually playing it since it didn't come with a controller. Oh the agonies of being a game collector when someone hands you just the console with no extras.

I'm going to leave it on for a while as I reassemble the top shell so that if anything starts to go wrong I will be able to address it. It's good to know it at least works. Then again I've not ran across any Super NES units that didn't work regardless of physical appearance and/or condition.

I thought I would share since I know some find this sort of stuff interesting.

The SuperNES I received with an N64 a while back finally got a good bath tonight. But, WOW, it has a lot of parts. And, yes, the electronics got the same bath as the rest of the unit to remove all foreign material. No dust or bug droppings if there were any.

Believe it or not the power switch was the worst for dust...the rest of the unit was not so bad.

Sorry for the poor quality. The only computer capable of using my Sony camera's memory card is not working at the moment (PSU died) so I'm stuck using my tablet's camera which is only 2 MP.

I still need to replace the power jack but while I have it disassembled I'm going to rig up some sort of power in connection to power it up because I still don't know if this thing works. I also need to pick up an AC adapter and at least one controller. I hope it works and if it does it will become part of my collection.

getting closer to the score NSG put on his video ( that one doesn't count though   )

still have to read the manual for the proper nomenclature but a good strategy for this challenge ... get extra ball as soon as possible .then juice the bumpers ... I am wondering if the lock-in at 9 or revert back to 1 ( only got 'em up to 8 so far ) then nudge the left bonus lane til your hand is cramped !!!

I have been ape-flipping this one and I know it caused atleast ONE drain .
