Indeed, those are the best kind of reviews.

Yeah, I like Projared's work. He doesn't have an enormous amount of review videos, but those he does generally appear to be well researched, largely unbiased, and free from sensationalistic melodramatics. A clear example of quality over quantity.

You know the story behind that "BEEE-SEVUNTEEEN BAWMER," right?
According to the Intellivision Lives website, the script called for a "Southern accent, laid back, slow drawl even under fire, talks like sittin' in a cotton field on a sunny day watchin' the bees buzz."

Darn good price on the 64 games especially...

I have also heard poor reviews about Quest 64, but its gotta be worth 4 bucks. I'd buy it for that.

Yeah, I already have the GBC version, Link's Awakening DX, on the Virtual Console, but I've been wanting to get the actual physical releases of the various Zelda games. Their prices seem to be getting a bit steep for the original carts, though, so when I saw that one for the fairly reasonable price of $11, I decided I should definitely get it.

My recent acquisitions. None of them were really thrift store finds. Oh well.

Link's Awakening was a Facebook find for all of $11.
Advance Guardian Heroes was another Facebook find.
Dragon Quest V was from Gamestop.
Super Scribblenauts was a Wal Mart purchase.

Well...even then there are variants as the expansion port remained for a long time. It is usually considered that the va2 and v3 versions of the model 1 have the best overall unaltered audio from them. However, the audio from the headphone jack is a bit on the hot side.

The audio you hear in this video I made was done from my va2 model 1 genesis. I added RCA jacks that come directly off the 1034 preamp inside so most of the extra filtering that goes to the headphone jack is skipped. The only way to get more pure sound would be to tap the audio directly off the YM2612 but then you don't have the PSG mixed in there if you do that. Would require additionally amplification as well regardless since the audio would be so low directly off the chip.

Mine is modded with a separate YM3438 attached inside. Basically two synth chips. But the audio output of the original 2612 is disabled and only the 3438 audio out is used in my setup.

    Use plastic tubs with lids.
Keep each system together. (SNES in one tub, 2600 in one tub, etc.)
Duct tape them shut once you are done packing.
Keep a count of all tubs.

So we are in the process of selling our house, and we're facing the big move soon... My collection is *significantly* larger than when we moved into our current place 11 years ago.

What are some tips and tricks for moving your collection?

One thought I had was that, even if we get movers to help, that I would personally box up and transport my collection to the new place. I've heard way too many horror stories from people who lost items during moving, and I don't want to end up in one myself.

    Any other tips or tricks?

Man I can totally relate to the loss of a physical structure where childhood memories were made. My hometown still has a mall that use to be called Ozark Mall but is now called The Fashion Center. It still has a J.C. Penny's that I am aware of but the Magic Mart that use to be next door to it was a Goody's the last time I was there. That mall was home to the Twin Cinema where I watched TRON, E.T., and other movies. It also had the first arcades to come to there called King Koin and Monkeyshines. Magic Mart is where I spent my first paycheck on a 2600 JR and one game and Penny's is where I would pick up my pre-ordered Dreamcast and game.

Good memories there but my favorite memories come from all of the visits to Springfield, MO.
Again most of the stores we visited in the mall and around it are no more. But at least the buildings are there being used. Venture is one store I definitely remember...they had a better 2600 kiosk than Wal-Mart did. it as usually crowded, too. and the smell...Venture, while it didn't stink, always had this smell that was distinctive. This was where some of my 5200 games would come from.

The Battlefield Mall would be where I would visit any toy and electronic stores in search of games and systems. Up until I turned 18 Mom and I would visit here often and she would help feed my video gaming habits when she could. My Dad's side of the family would take me here as well usually around the holidays. This is where I would find the Atari 7800 and many of the NES games I once had.

Just like the stores, however, the family members that would take me to these places I no longer have. If time travel were possible it would be to relive those moments again whether I got anything or not. Just to see, hear, and feel their touch again would mean more to me. That is what video games have me with...great memories that live on.
