NSG's Name That Game

Recommended Posts

Welcome to everyone's favorite game show, NSG's NAME THAT GAME!

For this game, I will post either hints or a piece of a screenshot of a game I am about to review.

In order to win, all you have to do is be the first to guess the game before I post my review!

Every correct answer gets you a meaningless point!

This is fun.

Thanks Rick! I was hoping you all would like it. I've seen similar games played on facebook and I myself played similar games on the Retro League forums and wanted to bring something similar with my own little spin here.

I plan to post another screenshot tomorrow!

My guess is most retro gamers have seen this before.

It's a pretty well known game.

Now that Starbuck66 said After Burner 2, I remember seeing something that looked like that on the title screen. I've played it before, but it's been awhile.  I'm gonna go with that.

This game was one of the first Genesis games I played, and it's still a top 3 title for me on the system. Can't wait to see your review of it!

Review is up, but warning, I'm not a big fan of it (I like this type of games in the arcade, but no so much at home).

I hope you can forgive me... :(

I think the worst thing about the review was that Pit Fighter was ranked above it on your list. Pit Fighter? For real?  :o

Other than that you gave it a fair shake, although I would say the soundtrack isn't just solid, its amazing! I get goose bumps when I hear the take off music!

I think what helps cement this game so high for me though was the "console arcade" next door to my house had two of these hooked up to two Sega Genesis consoles:

I think if you played After Burner II on one of these you might have more appreciation for it  :) The first thing I would do when I went there was find this game on the shelf, pop it in, sit down in one of these, and kick some Halvarian ass! (although with the cold war being so recent I was still thinking it was the Russians)
