  1. Here's some gameplay footage of Alien Abduction!
  2. So this is an interesting one! Alien Abduction is a brand new game developed for the Atari 2600 by H.E.R.O. programmer John Van Ryzin! And get this, the 16K ROM was released exclusively on the modern Atari VCS! No word yet on a physical release but wouldn't it be something to see this in cart form via the XP line?! Either way, this is a real win for the VCS!

  6. I know that H.E R.O. is a highly regarded title on the 2600.  Atari just announced a new game from H.E.R.O. programmer John Van Ryzin as a modern VCS exclusive!

  7. Another acquisition by Atari! This time it is the M Network brand and IP, including 2600 games!

  8. While it would be great to see it on the VCS, I don't think the VCS user base is sufficient for that type of hardware investment. Additionally, it's likely not powerful enough to handle this game - which was designed for PS5 (PSVR2) and Quest2. I do think they should consider a non-VR version for VCS, Switch and XBOX.
  9. Thanks, @Marco1019! It would be really great of you to include the trailer on your show! Thanks for helping to get the word out! The audio track is called Venture Planet and is credited to Soundjewel. It's part of a cinematic sound pack in my editor.
  10. 44,020 via Atari50 on the modern Atari VCS. Played with a Modern Controller. I hope folks can give this one a try! This game is notable for having come from the Atari Program Exchange (APX). The programmer- Greg Christensen - was in high school when he made this!
  11. Congratulations @Mockduck, the winner of our Akka Arrh: Recharged challenge! @Mockduck gets his first win with a terrific score of 104,283, 514! I come in a VERY distant second with 16,911,250. As the winner of this round @Mockduckwill receive 3 entries in the upcoming giveaway (prize TBA)! I will receive two entries since I posted his attempt via Youtube. I'd like to encourage Mockduck to post this high score on the Scoreboard so we can make sure this Challenge continues on! Congratulations again to @Mockduckan incredible showing! Also, a big congratulations to the rest of the Squad! Akka Arrh was an interesting choice for a reimagined title. Llamasoft took a failed arcade game and evolved the concept with Minter's trippy sensibilities. Its a mind bending experience that's well worth trying. NOTE: Our next Recharged Squad Challenge is a special Double Feature: Caverns of Mars!

  17. I'm having Star Trek withdrawals after Picard Season 3. I had to watch the final episode of Voyager (Endgame) last night to see again the state that Janeway left the Borg. Can't wait until Seaon 2 of SNW kicks off in June.
  18. My better half works in the medical field. She brought home some leftover donuts from her office for me. I'm like...um....

  19. Now confirmed for a May 12 release!
  20. It's updated now. Thanks for the heads-up!
  21. Well, April is shaping up to be a decent month for VCS releases.  Heroes of Loot 2 dropped on 4/21, Escape from PoPo is expected 4/26 and Skinny & Franko: Fists of Violence is due out 4/28.  Not bad for a system that was reportedly DOA two years ago.
