Wow! Would love to hear your thoughts about the classic style joystick
-
@Justin - So far the controllers are the most interesting thing about the hardware. The Classic Joystick works great as a paddle in 2600 games and as a rotary in Tempest arcade on the Vault. The game Thrustlander implements the rotation function wonderfully. As a normal 🕹️ it is also very nice. I've used it on Antstream for PacMan and Lock N Chase and it's been great. I'll probably do a full blog post once I spend more time with it.

Tim Lapetino is the new Creative Director at Atari.

Well, it looks like I'll be getting a car payment for the first time in a while. I loved my MINI S 4-door. It was more fun to drive than any car I've owned since my '85 Fiero. RIP little buddy.

One of the best things about the first week of November is that the annual edition of General Mills' Monster Cereal is 75% off. #iykyk

Here's the ClubVCS Recharged Squad Challenge button set for Series 3.

Interesting interview with current-day Atari's new CEO, Wade Rosen, on the current direction of the company. The Recharged titles have been solid, a new Food Fight is on its way, and Fred is no longer with the Co. Maybe he is the leader to right the ship?

My GF surprised by me with these socks for Halloween. I couldn't help but think of the @Atari Creep!
Happy Halloween everyone! Atari.io is the best forum on the net. As the Creep might say: Creep it real!

Those are nice. I dig the purple color.

Been playing the new Centipede: Recharged on the Atari VCS for the past few hours. It's actually a cool modern interpretation on the classic. It has an endless arcade mode, 30 unlockable challenges, achievements, and local Co-op. Also, the music is stunning.
It's available on all major console platforms - Xbox, PS4/5, Switch, Steam (PC) - via digital tomorrow. Based on the VCS version, I'd say it's well worth the $9.99 if you have any of those platforms and are a fan of the original.

Here's a spot on review of the game. (Switch)

Cool, thanks for the heads up.

If you've ever ordered from Best, this article will resonate. There are also some quotes from @Video 61.
-
Great article. I love BEST. I do feel that twinge to "be careful" when I do order, but actually speaking to Bradley is always a pleasant experience for me.

I've ordered two or three times from both Best and V61. I never knew about getting banned from Best 😆. I always followed the instructions and things went smoothly.
My last purchase had a minor hiccup because of a comment I made on the phone. Since he didn't take paypal, I called in to give him my credit card number. Well, I mistakenly called during non-business hours, and naturally, no one answered. I got a hold of Bradley on a later call and made the mistake of mentioning that I had called once previously and no one picked up. He seemed slightly annoyed 😄
Lance, on the other hand, has been much more cordial and easier to buy from 😄

Self-tying Nikes confirmed for 2015. Is it horrible that I want these? http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/news/nike-back-to-the-future-2-self-tying-shoe-20150108

Scored a Concerto cart for the 7800 last night! It's been hard to snag one of these things. Woot!

These Evercade Lynx collections are fantastic. Aside from the lack of a Comlynx port, the games play flawlessly and look great. The screen is big and bright and they included some real heavy hitters, including California Games, Checkered Flag, Blue Lightning and Chip's Challenge. At a fraction of the cost of a McWill modded Lynx and 25 carts this is great way to experience these games!
-
Good to know! I'd like a McWill Lynx but the price is 😮 Maybe I'll dabble in Evercade and its Lynx games instead.
-
I've really enjoyed the Evercade. The collections so far have been pretty good, the screen is nice and HDMI out is a great touch. Also, having the collections on carts is fun and unique for an emulation system. I'm hoping they do a console version that takes the same software.

Yep. Watched those GI Joe cartoons followed with Transformer cartoons. Ah the good ol' days. Now a days people see that, Tom & Jerry, and Looney Tunes and it's all, "That's offensive and violent." Blah. What ever happened to good old slapstick comedy? Oh dear...please don't let modern society see the 3 Stooges...someone might get a knot in their drawers.
