  1. That's what I'm hoping for. I'm no hoarder but I do tend to hold on to things for too long. I'm oddly excited about the process.
  2. Thanks guys!! I'm hoping the moving part will be easy. We're not in any rush to get out. The home we're moving to is undergoing some renovations currently. My office is conveniently attached to the home, so I'm traveling there every day. I'm hoping to begin bringing lots of bins over as soon as I can do that without being in the way of the contractors. Packing everything up, that's another story.
  3. Well, not really a sale & not everything, but a lot. Over the next couple of months, I will be moving. My wife & I will be moving to a home that is a lot smaller than where we are now. That's fine (especially since we're moving to my favorite place on Earth, a place I never imagined I would be able to live there, but that's a story for another post) but one major drawback is losing my large man cave area (basically the entire unfinished basement.) Since my new area to play my video games will be much smaller, I need to trim down my collection a bit. I'm not emotionally invested in a lot of the games I've acquired over the years. I never played them in their heyday and since I've had them, I haven't played most, if not all of them. I would much rather these games find loving homes with people who will appreciate them. It's not just games either. There will be some a bunch of things ranging from random pop culture collectibles to DVDs and books. Here's what I'm looking for in return. I would like some 2600 CIB games, none of which would be considered rare. Maybe some games off my wish list or a vintage Star Wars action figure to help round out my collection. I'd also like to build up some sort of honor system future credit for trades down the road. Or technical support if/when one of my systems needs some help running properly. I'll start posting photos & lists of items soon. Unless the shipment is extraordinarily large, I'll cover the shipping to wherever the items are headed. (That's assuming the stuff I'm unloading is wanted!)
  4. I had a hard enough time soft-modding my Wii. I'm not sure I have the courage to try this.
  5. The other day, I happened to see a Tweet from Cheap A** Gamer that said BestBuy.com had the Classic in stock. I got lucky & was able to order one before it sold. I held my breath for a day, waiting for the inevitable "back-order" or "order cancelled" email but the only email I received was "Your item has shipped"! I couldn't believe it! Even though my NES works fine, I'm excited to dive into this. I guess picking up that extra controller when I did wasn't a bad move after all.
  6. Awwww, shucks! It was sincerely my pleasure. I'm glad you're enjoying it!!
  7. Keep it going to through the playoffs!! Just make your picks here. Great job guys!
  8. You guys are my co-workers. I'm the only employee at my company. ????????
  9. Add me to the list of those who loved it as well. Aside from Vader's wrath at the end, I LOVED seeing Red Leader & Gold Leader. That blew me away. So was finally seeing Vader's castle after seeing Ralph McQuarrie's design for it for years.
  10. Merry Christmas & a safe, fun & memorable holiday season to everyone here, your family & friends! I've met so many wonderful people thanks to this place and I am extremely thankful and grateful to you all. THANKS!!
  11. Wrapped (not very well, my elf was not feeling well, so my poor wrapping skills are on full display) & being put on the sleigh this morning.
  12. AtariCreep can unleash the video now! First off, I thought my Secret Santa was the best last year. And he was, it was a fantastic haul that was thoughtful and greatly appreciated. But AtariCreep has raised the bar. Quick aside. I have been super busy at work and in order to force myself to stay focused, I blocked certain websites that I continually visit to waste time. This place was at the top of the list. I also recently started helping my local high school basketball team and so when I get home, I'm usually too spent to fire up the laptop and check things out here. Because of all that, I wasn't able to come up with a proper wish list. Therefore, AtariCreep only had my Want List post, as well as my vgcollect.com list to work off. Here's the haul: First, an awesome note, direct from the desk of Santa himself! The wrapped presents: First, a 2600 cart I enjoyed as a young lad which somehow escaped my hunting & gathering of the mid-90's: Next, not my favorite NES basketball game, but one I rented often & enjoyed (& I love the cover art!): And the coup de grace. When I saw the "Open Me Last" gift & felt the heft of the large gift, I had a feeling it could be this. But then I thought, "No way. Not only would it be too costly, but just the sheer awesomeness of it would be too much." Alas... Yes, a console I never had but always wanted. So many games I want to play, including the one that was "Open Me Last". I was blown away. I was speechless & practically in tears. AtariCreep's generosity is off the charts. I've said it before & I'll say it again. This place, this community that WE'VE BUILT, is second to none. The people I've met & interacted with here are simply the best, and quite frankly have done more for me than most of my IRL friends. You guys are fantastic and I cannot thank you all enough, especially you AtariCreep. THANK YOU!!!!!!
  13. Well, I was able to purchase an extra controller, for a system I'll probably never be able to buy.
  14. The portable does have an SD card, at least the last time I heard. Not sure how many ROMs (of games that you already own! ) will work with it but I'm guessing most.
  15. She struck out. Apparently, people lined up overnight. Sigh...
  16. I toyed with the idea of hitting Wal Mart at midnight but I get up too early. I also thought about working from home today so I could hit Target at 8 AM but I'm off on Monday, so I need to get things done. So, the wife has been dispatched to hit Target on her way to work this morning. Fingers crossed she can nab at least one. I'm hoping for two as my daughter wants one for Christmas. I hate that Nintendo plays these games with the limited supply. I'm sure there are plenty waiting around to flood stores once the hype has reached a crescendo.
  17. That is awesome! What an awesome story! Your Mom was the best!
  18. Good luck! That's awesome! You can definitely do it! I had a similar situation this past March. I had ballooned to my highest weight ever & was sick of it. I hate the gym & the only exercise I get is playing basketball twice a week. The weight gain came from a constant need to snack while gaming. Anyway, I started tracking my calorie intact, started walking during my lunch break & started the Couch to 5K program. My first "run" (it's basically a walk, with a couple 30 second jogs thrown in) was brutal. I could barely finish. But I kept up with it & nearly finished the 8 weeks before my knee protested too much. I did manage to shed those extra pounds & then some (nearly 40). Thanks for sharing! Hopefully that can motivate us to get healthy! There's lots of games to be played!
  19. The Fixx Cafe huh? Did one thing lead to another?? Congratulations! Here's to many more 15's!
  20. I am IN! I need to update my Want List, but I will post that soon. Last year was great. My SS was THE BEST!
