  1. Golf is one of my favorite NES games. It's still not enough to get me to buy a Switch.
  2. I picked up my PS2 when my daughter was only a few months old. I logged many hours playing games with her sleeping on my chest. Because of that, it holds a special place in my heart. That said, the PS2, to me, is just another system. I liked the Dreamcast before it more & my next system after, the 360, launched my gaming into a whole other level. However, it did kick off the wonder of online gaming. Playing SOCOM 2 with my buddies is one of my favorite gaming memories ever & those same friends are still playing online with the Xbox One. So it's not all bad. Don't get me wrong, I loved it & I realize it's place in gaming history, but it was personally overshadowed by what came before it & after it.
  3. Cramming for Fire Fighter 1 final exam tomorrow. 22 chapters & 1,500 pages of material. Wish me luck!!

  4. I have a modded Wii as well (that I did myself!), but because I did it myself, it's not what I was expecting. This obviously has a lot more systems/games, plus I find the Xbox controller to be much more suitable for the various systems. (More buttons to map)
  5. My tips begin & end with "pay someone to do it for you". ???? Seriously, I have zero skills. I inherited this box & it was hard modded. My buddies & I couldn't figure out how to FTP anything to it. It gathered dust until I found someone who knew what they are doing. He gutted it & basically started from scratch. I do know that it took a couple of days just to transfer all the files over. I wish I had more info/advice/tips for you. Sorry!
  6. After trying to figure out how to do this myself (i.e., have friends smarter than me figure it out) & failing, I found someone to do it right. He installed a 2TB HDD, did some more fancy things behind the scenes & installed every emulator & ROM set known to man, as well as nearly every original Xbox game made for the system. It will take me MONTHS to figure out what is on here, how to navigate it, etc. I can add any games that are missing (there are some Xbox games I'd like that aren't on here) as well as any new homebrews/hacks that come out. If you're so inclined, here's a crappy video I made for my friends to show them what's on this thing. Enjoy!
  7. I'm about a week away from having my dream retro machine in my hands. (Modded OG Xbox with 2TB HD FILLED with emulators & ROMs). Of course, I'm going to be away all of next weekend. :(

It's incredible, from what I've seen. I'll definitely be posting pics & vids once I have it.

  8. Okay, I'm going to try the OTHER Atari site, but it will be a little more expensive. Thanks guys!
  9. Anyone have any interest in an Xbox One? It's in great condition & works great. Comes with one controller. I'll throw in a couple of games too. I love it but Mrs. Surge bought me an Xbox One S for Christmas last year. I had been hanging on to this but I need the cash. I figured I'd offer it up here before throwing it up on eBay. $125 & I'll cover the shipping.
  10. Old guy, who spent his formative years with the 2600. Here's my Top 10 list that I made in January 2007. I'm sure I could quibble with it, but I might as well go with it. It's entirely based on the games I most enjoyed in the heyday of the system & the hours of enjoyment the games provided me. 10. Circus Atari 9. Seaquest 8. Chopper Command 7. Combat 6. Space Invaders 5. Asteroids 4. Pac Man 3. Yars Revenge 2. River Raid 1. Pitfall
  11. It's been awfully quiet regarding news from this. I hope it's not DOA.
  12. I had no idea that a collection of these existed! This was the only comic book series I ever subscribed too & I picked up the issues that I recall fondly. I'd love to read the whole series.
  13. Sorry Ferg, but I never heard of this game until you teased the episode. I have no idea where my FB portable is to try out the ROM. I'll just enjoy listening to your thoughts on it.
  14. I'm going in with an open mind. I LOVED the book, but I've forgotten most of the finer details, so the movie will feel "fresh" to me. I'll re-read the book after seeing the movie.
  15. So I just heard about this the other day & was very happy to see it on Netflix. I liked it. At first, it looked like it was going to be just Tim chasing the record but a couple of twists made things interesting. Billy Mitchell certainly came off much differently than he does in King of King, in a good way. Walter Day? He's still quite the eccentric. I was VERY happy with the ending (Enrico). And sorry Mr. McVey, add me into the group of those who had never heard of Nibbler.
  16. I have zero expectations for this. I'll pick up a Retron77 even if it's halfway decent. I'm not sure what this would have to be to get me excited.
  17. So I'm waiting for some photos of the 4th of July festivities to share but they haven't been posted yet. In the meantime, I went for a walk to get some ice cream tonight & captured the walk on video. Enjoy.
  18. Great question! We have internet through the FI Utility Company. It was recently upgraded last year but it's still not great. And it's expensive. Here's the breakdown: Download/Upload & Cost 2 MBPS/1 MBPS: $90 per month 5 MBPS/5 MBPS: $122 25 MBPS/25 MBPS: $160 I have the $122 per month plan in my office. I haven't signed up for my own plan yet. I did buy a wireless extender last week to get the signal over to our home bette (my office is attached to our house) & that made a difference. It hasn't really been tested yet with my playing on the XB1 & Mrs. Storm streaming a show/movie. So far, so good. And yes, this is similar to Martha's Vineyard in terms of beauty, but without all the people. In fact, our first real vacation was to MV as we couldn't find a place to rent here & we fell in love with MV. We went in October, so the crowds were gone. But yes, it is very similar on a much smaller scale. As great as the summers are (gorgeous beaches with handfuls of people on them), I REALLY can't wait for the fall & winter.
  19. What a great score! That feeling is so awesome! Congrats!
  20. Awesome! I haven't seen it in ages, but I'll see it next week! I'll make sure & share good any good stories with you. http://fishersisland.net/fi-theater-fundraiser-celebrating-35th-anniversary-garp/
