Some of my finds over the last month or so:

Picked up these GameCube games in a Pasco, WA Goodwill. I still need to find a GameCube memory card for my Wii, but I have a couple controllers, at least.

Found these two Competion-Pro joysticks at a Goodwill in Hermiston, OR. Haven't tested them out yet.  I assume they were designed for the 2600 and the two buttons serve the same function,  but it would be nice if they supported the 7800's 2nd button. We'll see!

And I found these at a Idaho Youth Ranch thrift store in Boise. (I discovered there's a lot of thrift stores in Boise. I only had time to stop by a couple, though.)

To fix that crack, I'd go with the most mild fix you can.  Take the top off.  Add some Elmer's glue and push it back up from the bottom.  Then add a piece of duct tape to the bottom.  

Todays letgo find. Guy had it listed with 4 common games for $120. I asked how much for just the nes. He said $70. He mentioned it takes AV cables too. I met him as fast as I could. Now all I gotta do is fix this crack in it

Last time I remember Twilight Zone being on TV it was on UPN in 2002-2003. It came on after Star Trek Enterprise and was hosted by Forest Whitaker. A few years later Forest Whitaker won an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture. Maybe Peele will do the same.

I'm hopeful but skeptical. Of course it will come down to the stories. The original series had some amazing writers for the time. I don't know much about Jordan, but he doesn't seem to have the gravitas to be the host, but then again, it's hard to find someone worthy of Rod Serlings shoes. I think someone like Liam Neeson or James Earl Jones could pull it off. I also hope they don't go too dark or TV-MA with it. I really enjoyed TZ as a kid and even though there were some creepy moments, it was something the whole family could watch together. 

So last night during the superbowl they played a commercial for a new Twilight Zone series hosted by Jordan Peele. Not much has been said in the commercial or on the internet.
What are yalls thoughts? The Original series might be my favorite show ever and I hope they dont mess this one up. I remember in 2002 they brought it back and some episodes I liked but over all I wasnt too impressed. 
Now dont get me wrong i really like Jordan Peele. Hes hilarious in a ton of different shows and movies, but when it comes to The Twilight Zone I'm not sure why they would pick a comedian to host a si-fi "horror" show. 
Anyway I'd love to hear yalls thoughts on this one cause I'm sure we have some TZ fans in here

Launch edition?  A 5200 launch edition?  Pffft.  Yea right.  And I'm the President of USA.  I'm not trying to pick on someone but wouldn't it be wise to do homework first before posting an item for sale?  And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the 4-ports came before the 2-ports.  What some people won't try.  A beat up 2-port just became a launch edition.  Hilarious.  I just hope no one falls for it.

I finally got a TV stand for my new place and hooked up some of my favorite consoles: a PS4 Pro, AVS, Saturn, Jaguar and 2600. I'm running the classic consoles through a RetroTINK to a 49" Samsung 4K HDR TV. It looks amazing! 
I did have my 7800 hooked up but the RetroTINK and the LHE mod don't seem to get along too well.  After about 20 minutes, I started getting really weird interference. The LHE mod is temperamental  so I'm going to try a simple modded 7800 eventually. 
Anyway, here are a few pictures. The screenshots are from my phone and do not do the picture justice. I also wanted to show my attempt at cable management to get everything off the floor. Because this TV stand has tall legs, it looked really messy at first. I even grabbed a wooden box for the power strips and bricks. 
 

When I was out of town for the holidays, I left my car parked with my soon to be ex-wife at the house. Living downtown now, I can't leave it in the same space for more than a day or two. I figure, I still own (and pay for) the driveway, right? She drove it and parked it overnight at a Christmas party where it got sideswiped.  The driver didn't leave a note so I had to make a claim under insurance.  If it were a normal car, it would've been a fix of about $4,000, but because it was an EV (a LEAF) there are special battery handling requirements that made it a total loss. I was shocked, frankly. So I went a month without a car.  I live close to work and bike a lot so it wasn't horrible but getting across town on transit or out to LA or Orange County was a pain. And then there's the rain. 
So last weekend, after 8 years of driving a zero emission vehicle, I returned to the dark side of fossil fuel with this gently used MINI Cooper S 4-door. The MINI has 189HP and was the closest thing I could find with the zippiness and immediacy of an EV.  I will really have to watch my speed though as I keep blowing past 80 without feeling it. They actually have a "speed warning" that you can set to your MPH of choice. It's currently on 90. 😂😂😂
Anyway, a week in and I'm really loving it. It's decidedly retro with chrome toggle switches everywhere and bonnet stripes. It has super tight handling and is a dream on the freeway. It might be too much fun, really.  Aside from the red, it's not exactly a midlife crisis car but it's as close as I am likely to get. 

A day in the life of RickR:

I spent some time today during the Super Bowl on a little project in my garage.  I decided to mount my garage TV on a wall mount so I could reclaim the workbench space.  Indeed, it seems to have returned 20% of the bench top.  I think it turned out really nice.  The mount came from Harbor Freight, and was only $10!  I had to rearrange the stuff on the wall a bit, but that's just part of the fun. 

I use this TV to watch over-the-air channels while exercising, football on weekends, and a lot of times for gaming (either repairing or testing consoles, or playing systems I've pulled out of the attic). 

I collect 2600,5200,7800 and Intellivision games... here are some of the 2600's I have to trade... let me know what you have.

Dang.  Pikmin games alone are not cheap.  Great find.  I'm always after N64 games since I only have two but I have nothing up for trades and I'm already committed to another item.  Still, excellent finds and a Genny complete in box game or not is a rare find.

2 more NES games for trade. Both play great. Only thing wrong is donkey kong has a small rip on the top of the label. Id like to trade for other nes games of equal value. Let me know

Todays goodwill find. Paid $10 for it. No controller and no power cord. It does however have xmen in it.
