I love these!

I have a turbo grafx-16. I love it. It's a weird system. I like that it's weird! In some ways its amazing and in other ways it doesn't make sense. When it came out in the USA it was such an obvious step forward from the NES. Yet it doesn't make sense to me that they made it so big when the PC Engine was so tiny. How cool! It doesn't make sense to me that for all of the great games they had in Japan, they didn't translate well into games for the USA. Kato and Ken is a good example. Then the Genesis happened. The turbo grafx, the duo, and the express were all awesome. I wish I had a larger collection.

How did you even hear about this greatest game ever made, greenween? We need to do more on these forums about board games and tabletops. This is awesome in a whole different way. This is like rec-room stuff, where Atari all began!

I have a question. I just joined the forum tonight. Are there any programming tutorials for BASIC and assembly language code for beginners on the Atari platforms that can be accessed on here? If not, will they be available? If so, I am duly interested in learning more about programming, primarily on the 8-bit platform as a base. I also want to learn how to program on other Atari platforms as well. Could there eventually be tutorials on those systems as well?

Man I loved Kay Bee. I spent hours in there as a kid when my mom would take me and my sister to the mall. I think it started as K&K Toys and then became KB. All my video games came from there. We had Toys R Us but it wasn't as convenient. Kay Bee you could just pop into.

I just learned that Commodore made a speech module for the VIC-20 and C64 called "Magic Voice" that used the same chip/design as the Speak and Spell.  I guess the Scott Adams adventure games used it, as well as others like Gorf. 

Hi everyone -- Just wanted to let folks know that even if you don't have anything to trade, if you see something you like on the lists, please just message and ask.  I'm sure we can work something out.  The point is the spread the fun of collecting and playing retro gaming systems.  New or old to the hobby, all are welcome!

I have two TG-16's, both do composite A/V without the official add-on as they have been modded. No original HuCards (I gave those away  ) which is fine since I have a TurboEverdrive so I can load any PCengine / TG16  game up and play on the TG16! Some great games for sure! 

I've been keeping my eyes open for a reasonably priced TurboGrafx 16, but so far, it's eluded me.  They are pretty hard to find.

Did anybody else have a Speak & Spell growing up? Texas Instruments found a tremendously clever use of their speech synthesis chip. The Speak & Spell was introduced in June, 1978 at the Summer CES, making it one of the very first handheld electronic devices with a visual display. Speak & Spell enjoyed a very similar lifespan to that of the Atari 2600, retailing from 1978-1992.

I had a turbografx years ago and I absolutely loved Bonk's Adventure.  
Here recently I traded for a PC engine and some games.  Right now out of the handful of games I own my favorite is Alien Crush.  I'm really looking to get back into playing games for this console as it has a certain charm that I love (even if I can't explain it well) and some killer games that you can't really find elsewhere.

I don't know about all of you, but I'm very fond of the TurboGrafx and the PC engine. I've been collecting for awhile now, but not as long as my Atari era stuff.

What are some of your guys/gals favorite games? If I had to pick just one, I'd say Legendary Axe. I'm mostly a fan of shmups on the system, but Legendary Axe was the game that got me into collecting for the system.
