I got the junk box today, this what I took out:
Xmen for sega genesis- cool game!
Lion king sega genesis-I already had this one but this one is in better shape
Warlock sega genesis-never heard of this one, so I decided to try this out, hopefully a good one.
Xbox Star Wars knights 2-I've heard this is an awesome game, can't wait to play it!
Space wars Atari 2600-another one to add to my collection
Snafu for intellivision-another one I don't own yet, wonder why I didn't get this one sooner?
Frogger Atari 8 bit- never played this version, but I know this should be a great game
3D adapter for sega master system? Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this but definitely looks like something for master system.
Tmnt movie- I already had this, but I can never have too much of ninja turtles lol
Tmnt pez- Now I have 3 of them, only missing Leo...
Finally this Pac man belt buckle (more like one of the ghosts) cool to have nevertheless.
I'll repack this with more goodies and send it out to the next person in line, good junk so far!

Scott will have to jump in here with the info you two need, but I can attest to a totally smooth transaction with Scott (& Tim) from 2600connection.com -- I bought 5 VCS carts and a small stack of manuals from them back in April and was satisfied from start to end.  I got one total price quote for everything (including shipping) so I can't say exactly what it was, but it was certainly reasonable.

RickR, the copy of Porky's that I traded to you a little while ago originally came to me through that purchase.

Update: Got 20 bucks in frequent buyer cash from the local gameshop a few months back, and used it to (mostly) snag Gremlins. Of course, to get that cash you have to spend 200 dollars...

But hey, that was 10 dollars here, 20 dollars there over the course of a year or two so I'm not sweating it  A lot of it was snagging 2600 games at a buck a piece so they really helped round out my collection and got me over the 200 game mark.

Finally got my second Milton Bradley cart for the 2600 thanks to NSG! I've actually had my copy of Spitfire Attack since I was a kid; it was one of three games I managed to keep from my original collection (the other two being Joust and Buck Rogers). Picture below of both carts together:

I wish my Spitfire Attack label was as pristine as the Survival Run label, but I'm still happy I have both MB games in my collection now.

EDIT: Realized it was Buck Rogers, not Frogger, that was the last game I managed to hold on to from my original collection... Ferg's upcoming podcast episode jogged my memory!

Some really cool stuff this time in the box!  Always wanted that how to win at video games magazine and the tomy pac man bank!  Could not pass up a Mattel football II and Donkey kong 3.  Mechwarrior I kept because....Mechwarrior!  I love robot battle games!

Love doing these boxes, so much fun!

Too bad about Tempest. Fortunately I have Jeff Minter's TxK game on the Vita. Disappointing they had to block it for other platforms because of lawsuits as it really is a great game.

I would like to see reboots of Demon Attack and HERO by Activision.

They put their arcade cabinets in wood housings as well.  Shame you can't see any of the cabinet/table side art...

    Arggh!

Ok, allow me to point out three errors, imho

    1) Describing E.T. as "Horrible, Horrible"  - No. Not even close. I could name 50-100 games on the 2600 alone that are worse. And while some reviews when it came out gave it poor scores, it also got good reviews too. If they would have prefaced this statement "many believe", I'd be ok with that, but they stated it as fact.

    2) Calling the game a retail "Flop" - It was a TOP TEN SELLER on a system with hundreds of game. That is not a flop. The decision to overproduce the game was a very foolish decision. If they decided to start out only producing a million copies to begin with (which would have been a lot at the time), it would've sold out and been considered a huge hit.

    3) Atari programmers making bad games helped cause the decline of Atari - Really. Name five. E.T. was one of the earliest silver box games and a lot of those games are some of the best of the system. Yes, third parties were making bad game, but don't blame them or the programmers at Atari for Atari nosediving as far as business goes. Blame the business decisions they made, including overpaying for the E.T. licenses and over producing games beyond realistic expectations.

With that being said, I recall HSW becoming a counselor, but I didn't realize he lost all of his ET money and was able to use his high/low life experiences to help others. Good stuff.

Also, I think HSW knows it isn't as bad as it's reputation, but enjoys the notoriety that ET being  labeled the worst game of all time brings. It gives him a ton of opportunities to talk about the past, which without ET, he may never have today. How many other Atari programmers do you know still get mainstream coverage like this?

Not Craigslist, but found this on the letgo app. Just picked it up works great. I bought it from the original owner. He said he doesnt collect games, but he remembered waking up Christmas day to this thing. I do now need the inserts for this box if anyone has any leads that would be great. Also game recommendations.

Not to take this too far off-topic, but does anyone know exactly where the "worst game ever" thing originated?  I mean, okay, sure, it's not the greatest game.  I feel like this particular narrative had to have been born somewhere specific, though...

    FT / FS:

B.C.'s Quest for Tires for ColecoVision, with instructions.  An uncommon title in fantastic condition.  Not tested since I don't own a CV, but this came from the same place as the things in the pickups video I did a while back -- so it was likely used once or twice to be reviewed for the magazine, then stored away for 30+ years.

    Tempest.

That TxK was blocked from being ported to the PS4/Rift/Android was tragic.  I would have loved to experience a modern Tempest successor, and especially in VR.  TxK seems to look and sound just as amazing as the existing games in the series, but... I won't be able to play it until I'm able to pick up a Vita, and that's a fairly low priority for me.  It's a shame.  Just picture a new, evolved, polished Tempest game in 4k HD resolution, 60+fps video...
