🚘 What’s your favorite thing to bring with you on a summer road trip? Atari Lynx has a small game library, but many of the games are really good! Once things return to normal this will be my 31st summer bringing the Lynx on my summer road trip. I do more driving than riding in the back seat these days, but summer wouldn’t feel complete without rainy afternoons playing California Games, RoadBlasters, Ninja Gaiden or Blue Lightning.

I had an original GameBoy for road trips when I was a teen. I didn't have a Lynx. I don't consider battery life anymore. I would use a car adapter. Had one when I lived out of my car for my PSP. I loved that thing! It had movies and games. I had entertainment, I was content. If I had to choose just one now, and I had plenty of content for it, I'd have to go with a PSP only because of its abilities to get online, play games, play music, and play movies. Its sort of the all-in-one portable platform.

I kind of soured just a tiny bit on the PSP due to the battery life. On a plane trip that's over 2 hours, it will die. A DS will go on and on. I suppose that's less of a problem with the more modern planes that have USB plugs. Still, you could end up with a broken one or on an older plane.
Car trips only? Then any of them will do! Fun is fun in all shapes and forms. I think I'll choose the modern 2600 portable for a car trip. Just like Justin, it allows me to play the games I remember most as a kid. -
I guess it's just me then. I'm more of a what can I take that I'd get the most out of person. I don't think of just games on long trips. That's why I chose a PSP. A bit slow in the web browsing department but it would work. There are lots of free wi-fi hot spots nowadays. And if I want to switch from a game to a video the PSP would allow that.
If I was allowed to take more than one I'd have to pick GBA SP model with at least one Pokémon game.
