  1. Welcome to the official topic for Something Ate My Alien
  2. Welcome to the official topic for Guntech
  3. @Sabertooth Sounds great! I'll get it set up, and it'll be your show to run. If there were enough people in here with the VCS, the club could have its own "Recharged Squad Challenges" etc. It would be the place to be for the VCS
  4. I just entered the 200 club! Thank you for the helpful PRO-TIPS on getting those strikes @RickR @TrekMD My New High Score: 203
  5. 📰 Microsoft has acquired Activision for $70B+

There goes the neighborhood.  At least it went to someone who might take care of those games.  But, yes, didn't see this coming.

  6. @Sabertooth We have a new section in the forums for Clubs that could be really cool. They act like mini-forums within the forums and give Members the chance to have their own Club space for a specific topic. I'd like to create an "Atari VCS Club" in our new Clubs area in the forums. Would you like to be in charge of it? The new VCS seems like a lot of fun and I've been enjoying your Blog entries about the new games.
  7. @Video 61 has bootleg ones from Asia that were seized at the port. Same ROM, same game, Southeast Asian bootlegs that were intercepted and turned over to Atari. Usually IP owners have seized counterfeits destroyed once they've been handed over from the authorities, in this case Jack Tramiel decided to declare them "open box specials" and sell them off at fire sale prices, because "business is war".
  8. Yep I've stood many times right where that picture was taken 😀
  9. You should invite @ZilchSr to join us for this Squad Challenge!!
  10. The most beautiful landscapes of Dakar 2022:
  11. Interesting! What is it about the fire button that makes it painful? Is it something that could be modded?
  12. Yes! Neo•Geo has some real arcade gems, I think there's a lot for the Atari gamer to enjoy about a Neo•Geo beyond it's fighting games. More on this soon!
  13. Nice Slik Stick Rick! Is that your favorite Atari 2600 joystick
  14. There are many ways to be able to enjoy Neo•Geo games 😀
  15. @Jas My understanding is that the Intellivision is region free, and that generally speaking most all Intellivision cartridges will work globally without issue, with only a few exceptions. I believe Super Cobra and Tutankham are PAL-only releases, and some of the AtariSoft releases for Intellivision are NTSC. Somebody with better knowledge of the Intellivision can chime in on this.
  16. Inspired by my deep appreciation of Victory Run on the TurboGrafx-16 I thought I would share some brief highlights from this year‘s Dakar Rally which ran from January 1st - 14th, 2022. Maybe you’ll find this interesting! This is something I discovered through Victory Run a number of years ago and has since become a passionate interest of mine, that I thought I would share with all of you here. Combine all of the greatest elements of classic 8-bit driving games (Out Run, Victory Run, Rad Racer, etc.) and you have The Dakar. The Dakar (formerly The Paris to Dakar Rally) is a challenging, annual off-road endurance event which began in 1978 as a rigorous cross-country race from Paris, France to Dakar, Senegal, with different teams traversing tough terrain in a variety of vehicles, including cars, supply trucks, motorcycles and true off-road vehicles. Dakar is a true test of endurance for both the vehicles and the drivers, as well as their support teams. Most of the competitive areas are off-road, crossing dunes, mud, camel grass, rocks, and erg among others. The distances of each stage covered vary from short distances up to 560 miles per day. The rally is open to amateur and professional entries, amateurs typically making up about 80%t of participants. Due to security threats in Mauritania, which led to the cancellation of the 2008 rally, events from 2009 to 2019 were held in South America, with more recent rallies taking place throughout the Middle East. This was the first year of "The Dakar Classic" to incorporate classic Dakar vehicles into the rally. Many of the cars seen here could've been the same ones racing the Dakar back when Victory Run was first released on TurboGrafx-16.
  17. @RickR That would be good to save for this year's Summer Pizza Party 🥳🍕🍕
  18. Thanks @chas10e!! The Achievement Badges are going to continue, and we will be recreating the Activision Patches as Badges to be awarded in future Squad Challenges 🥳
